Plenty of people enjoy FabGuys without ever meeting anyone. Meeting is entirely optional and deserves careful consideration.
Only meet if you feel able to judge the situation, make your own decisions and look after your safety. If you feel pressured, cannot think clearly or have doubts, DO NOT MEET.
We run and moderate the site. That includes age assurance, checking public profiles and photographs, identifying misuse and acting on reports. Our Platform Responsibilities page explains this work.
We do not carry out background checks or supervise meetings. Age assurance, verifications and a long-standing account do not guarantee that somebody is safe to meet.
When it comes to meeting, your responsibility is to decide whether to meet and take precautions for your own safety.
Speak to the person by phone or video first.
Meet socially in a public place first, such as a café or similar safe space.
Do not turn up at a private address without first meeting the people you expect to be there.
Tell somebody you trust who you are meeting, when and where. Arrange a time to check in with them.
Make your own travel arrangements. Do not get into a stranger’s car or rely on them to get you home. Take a charged phone.
Keep personal details such as your home address, workplace and regular routine private until you know and trust the person.
Think carefully before travelling a long distance or booking a hotel in the expectation of a meet. Never send money to somebody you have not met.
Check their verifications and how new their profile is. New and unverified profiles give you less to go on.
Be clear about your boundaries and respect theirs.
Stay able to make clear decisions. Do not continue if anyone appears affected by alcohol or drugs.
Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave. Money spent on travel or a hotel does not oblige you to stay or take things further.
Think carefully before inviting somebody into your home or going to a private address.
Anything sexual must be freely agreed by everyone involved. Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time. If anyone is unsure, reluctant, intoxicated, under pressure or unable to agree clearly, stop. A meet, message, profile, photograph, previous conversation or past encounter does not mean somebody has agreed to anything else.
Each person agrees for themselves. Do not rely on one partner telling you what the other wants. Hear it from each of them directly, and if either seems unsure, stop.
You do not have to meet anyone or take part in anything sexual to please your partner, keep the peace or prove you love them. Agreeing before does not mean you have to agree again.
Either partner can ask us to close a couple’s account, and you do not need to give a reason. Contact us discreetly through Contact. Bear in mind that your partner may notice the account has been closed.
If saying no or closing the account could put you at risk, seek confidential support first. Use a device your partner cannot access. Galop runs the National LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Helpline, and the Men’s Advice Line also supports men. You can also report controlling or coercive behaviour to the police on 101.
Look after your own sexual health and that of the people you meet. Information and resources are on our sexual health page.
The safest choice is not to allow intimate photographs or video during a meet. If you do, use your own device, make sure everyone shown clearly agrees and keep them under your control.
Don’t share them unless you are comfortable losing control over who might see them. Never share or threaten to share somebody’s intimate images without their consent.
Leave as soon as it is safe to do so. Report concerning behaviour using the account’s report option or Contact, and contact the police where appropriate.
If an intimate image of you has been shared on FabGuys without your consent, use Report Content. You do not need an account to report it.
