Story Number Three
Chapter One
Rachel my wife, and I had been Christmas shopping once again to the Trafford Centre in Stretford Manchester. We go around this time every year, readers may remember what happened the last time we went, and the incredible encounter we had with the Count on the way home.
A lot of money had been spent on gifts for my wife and the family, and we had finished the day off with a tasty meal, before traveling back to North Wales.
On the drive back along the A55 to our home in the small city of Bangor on the Welsh coast, I suggested another visit to a well-known costal dogging location. After what happened around this time last year I was not expecting a positive response.
Experiencing enormous trepidation I asked Rachel
“How do you fancy a bit of car fun, we could stop off at the same place as we did last year, Pensarn beach, if you recall?”
“Are you fucking insane Dave, you do remember what happened the last time we went there don’t you?”
“Of course I do hun, but the chances of that happening again must be millions to one, how often do people encounter real vampires when they are out dogging?”
“I have no idea of the fucking odds Dave, but the fact that it has happened once to us is enough for me to think it could easily happen again.”
I thought I best leave it at that, so far we had enjoyed an excellent day out together and Rachel had been in a good mood all day, so I tried to not look disappointed and concentrated on the driving instead.
Nothing was said for several minutes, a road sign came up informing us that the turn off for Abergele was a short distance ahead. We would need to take this turn if we were to visit Pensarn beach.
I could see out of the corner of my eye that Rachel had turned to look at me, I pretended I had not noticed the road sign. We were just a few seconds away from the turn off, I had resigned myself to the fact we would not be going dogging tonight when she ordered me.
“Turn off now, I can see how disappointed you are, so we will give it 15 minutes, but if no one turns up then we leave after those 15 mins ok?”
“Yes love, whatever you say.”
I was so shocked I could barely speak, I never thought she would agree to a return visit after what happened last time.
Readers may well be thinking why on earth would we both want to return to the exact same place as last year when we had both come so close to either being killed or converted into vampires. All will be revealed in due course.
We turned off the A55 and headed for the beach, once on the sea front we drove toward Rhyl for about a quarter of a mile or so. We parked up facing out to sea, as far as I could tell we were the only car on the beach, although it was fairly dark and it was difficult to be sure.
There was close to a full moon that night, but a lot of broken cloud, which meant at one time you could see quite well, but when the cloud covered the moon it was difficult to make out much.
Although I could not be 100% sure, I was fairly certain I had parked up in exactly the same spot as I had the last time we had visited. Surprisingly, even to myself, this did not seem particularly strange at that time.
I glanced at the car clock when we stopped, hoping someone would come along in the next 15 minutes, it was 10 pm, I think Rachel must have seen me checking on the time as she said
“Right Dave we will give it until quarter past ten and no more, if no one shows up by then we’re off home ok?
“Yes hun no problem, quarter past ten it is.”
I was praying someone would turn up, at the moment I was sure there wasn’t a single car on the beach besides our own.
Five minutes came and went, then ten, Rachel looked over at me and told me firmly.
“I mean it Dave, were leaving dead on quarter past got it?”
“Yes Rach, don’t worry we will leave bob on 10:15.”
The clock ticked around to 10:14 I looked over towards the car park entrance, about a quarter of a mile away, still no sign of any other vehicles. The clock showed 10:15 and she said
“Let’s go.”
I was about to push the starter button but glanced once more towards the entrance and my heart skipped a beat, my silent prayers had been answered. Two head lights could be seen moving slowly along the beach in our direction. Thank fuck for that, a car was approaching us.
“Wow just in the nick of time eh Rach?”
My wife grunted in a none committal manner.
As the vehicle drew nearer, I strained my eyes to try and make out who was driving it and what type of car it was, unfortunately a large bank of thick cloud was currently obscuring the moon and made it impossible to make out any of the information I was seeking.
The lights drew closer and as they did so the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and a cold shiver ran down my spine, I could now just about make out the shape of a large black old fashioned looking car.
It didn’t look exactly the same as the one the vampire had driven the last time we were here but it was fairly similar. Rachel gasped and whispered
“We better get out of here I don’t like the look of this car.”
I nodded in agreement and pressed the starter button, unfortunately, fuck all happened. I pressed it again with the same response, I then repeatedly pressed the button but it made no difference, the car wouldn’t start.
“Stop fucking about Dave, I’m scared get the fucking car started and let’s get out of here.”
“Christ Rach, I’m not messing about, I’m scared too, but the bloody car won’t start.”
“Let me have a go.”
She pushed my hand out of the way and tried pressing the start button herself, but achieved the same results, the car was as dead as a Dodo.
“Oh God Dave what do we do now?”
I reached up to my throat area, pulled on a chain I now always wore and brought up the crucifix that had saved our lives a year ago. It was glowing brightly with an unnatural illuminance.
“This will save us Rach, it did the job last time and it will do the same now, remember don’t look into his eyes or he will take over your mind.”
I now deeply regretted my decision to pay another visit to this dogging location, I never thought we would ever have another encounter with a Vampire. Christ just over a year ago I didn’t even know these things were real, I thought they were the inventions of an Irish author (Google Brad Stoker if you want to know more).
The car came and parked alongside ours on Rachels side, perhaps a car widths away from us, we both looked across but we couldn’t see the driver as they had blacked out windows.
“What do we do now Dave?”
“Quick lock your door.”
We both quickly locked our doors, then I realized how pointless that was, the vampire could rip our doors off their hinges as easily as I could rip a tissue in half.
I clutched the crucifix in my right hand and put my left arm around my wife, I held the cross in front of us both and tried to reassure Rachel by telling her.
“This will save us Rach it did it last time it will do it again.”
“You just said that Dave, stop repeating yourself. I hope your right, I really do, but he’s not stupid, he will surely have recognized us and will remember all about the cross. If he was scared of it he wouldn’t have parked next to us would he.”
“I don’t know love, but I don’t think that’s the same car as last time.”
“Then why is the cross glowing brightly Dave, it has to be him.”
I didn’t know how to answer her, so I kept quiet and awaited developments. Nothing happened for several minutes, I could hear my heart hammering in my chest. Rachel and I was petrified, I tried to start the car up a couple of times but again nothing happened.
Rachel asked
“What do you think he’s doing, should we try phoning the police.”
“Brilliant Rach, why didn’t I think of that, get your phone and give it a try and I will do the same.”
She reached for her mobile but then started shaking her head and showed me her phone. It was completely dead it looked like the battery had ran out.
I picked mine up, it was the same, completely dead. I knew for a fact it should have had plenty of battery. I had check it prior to leaving Manchester and it had been close to 100%.
“It has to be him Rach.” I nodded over in the direction of the old fashioned car then continued.
“Somehow he is stopping the car from starting and our phones from working.”
“How the hell can he do that?”
“No idea, but he’s a Vampire, I suppose they can do all kinds of things that we have no clue about.”
“Oh Christ Dave, his door is opening.”
We both sat staring at the driver’s door of the vehicle as it started to open, I was fully expecting to see the same guy we had met a year earlier.
As the door opened the interior light of the old fashioned car illuminated, clearly displaying the person that was sat behind the wheel.
Rachel and I both gasped in unison, we were both completely flabbergasted. We had expected to see the Vampire, the Count, that had nearly killed us both, instead what was presented before us was a vision of absolutely outstanding beauty.
Seated in the car was the most gorgeous looking woman I had ever seen, she had long straight black hair, dark eyes, high cheek bones, pale perfect looking skin and fantastic red lips. Her beauty was absolute perfection I had never seen such beauty, not even a Hollywood actress could come close to her.
She looked to be in her late 20s or perhaps early 30s but I knew from experience you could not judge a vampires age from their looks. She could easily be hundreds or even thousands of years old.
She emerged from her vehicle and approached Rachels door. She wore a long jet black sleeveless evening dress, made of expensive looking silk and long black gloves that came up to nearly her elbows. There was no doubt in our minds that she was a Vampire, her exquisite beauty and seductive charm could not hide from us her lethal nature. We both knew we were extremely close to death, our only hope would be the cross clutched tightly in my hand.
She was tall, not far off 6ft and had a slim to athletic build, high conical breasts, slim waist and lovely long legs. On catwalks around the world she would look better than any super model, her figure was total perfection.
She stopped a couple of feet away from our car, and stooped down to look in on us through the window on Rachels side.
She then gave the old hand gesture indicating she wanted us to let down the window.
“What should I do Dave, she wants me to open it.”
“We better do as she says we don’t want to antagonize her, let’s face it she could punch the window out in a heartbeat, but only open it a little bit.”
My wife pressed the button and let down the window a couple of inches, we were both shaking like leaves, we knew we were in deep shit.
The gorgeous lady was the first to speak, she possessed the most alluring voice one could possibly imagine. It would be so easy to fall madly in love with her but at such a cost.
“Good evening you two, I’ve been hoping I might run into you both sooner or later, I believe you had some fun with my husband the Count a short while ago, I’m the Countess.”
Rachel and I both looked at one another for a couple of seconds then Rachel addressed the lady.
“Yes I think I know who you mean, we didn’t mean to hurt him but we were really scared and didn’t know what else to do.”
“Oh don’t worry, no permanent damage was caused, he had to rest up for a couple of months but he is back in action now. He’s currently out of the country but told me to keep an eye out here just in case you both turned up. He cast a spell some time back to try and get you both to turn up, but it didn’t seem to be working, but obviously it finally has. Magic spells are not 100% successful and sometimes take much longer to work that anticipated.”
That last revelation made perfect sense to me, readers who have read my story about our encounter with the Count would be wondering why the hell would we return to this place. No one with an ounce of common sense would ever come back especially after dark, I now understood that we must have been under some kind of compulsion spell that made us eventually return.
I finally managed to gain enough composure and asked the Countess.
“Why did your husband want to bring us back here?”
“Unfinished business Dave, he really likes you and Rachel, and looking at you both I can see why. He would like you both to join our little family, you wouldn’t want to refuse him would you.”
Rachel joined in the conversation.
“That’s a very generous offer from him, but we don’t want to become Vampires we want to remain human, can you let us go now please.”
“Um I might, let me think about it, tell you what, how about we three have a little fun together and if you please me then I will let you go how does that sound?”
“What do you think?” I whispered.
“You have to be fucking joking Dave, if we let her in were dead she isn’t going to let us go, and don’t bother whispering I’m sure she can hear every word.”
“Quite right Rachel, I can, but I was only being polite, either open your door right now or I will tear it off and don’t think I need to be invited in, that’s some folklore bull shit.”
“It’s alright Rach open the door and let her in.”
My wife turned to stare at me incredulously, I motioned with my eyes down to the cross I had concealed in my hand, and she immediately understood what I intended to do and so reached for her door handle.
As the door started to open the Countess grabbed it and yanked it out or Rachels hand, I started to bring my hand up, with the intention of presenting the cross to the Vampire but quicker than my eyes could follow her hand came inside, she grabbed the cross from my hand and threw it far out to sea.
The countess laughed triumphantly, she presented her long gloves before us both and explained.
“These are special gloves lined with rubber and soaked in a secret potion that allows my species to handle crucifixes without suffering any harm. The Count warned me that you might well have one that you would try and use on me, so I came prepared.”
The gorgeous monster continued.
“You humans have no problem handling crosses but to my species they are deadly, it’s like touching sulphuric acid. If you both obey me and do exactly as I say then I might, I just might let you go unharmed. You don’t really have any choice because I can make you both do my bidding anyway, but I prefer you do it from your own free will, rather than I take over your minds.”
Find out in the next chapter what we decide to do now that we have lost the only effective weapon we had.
