Quick update!!

It's Arlo and Aiden here....

Due to the Pope being ill, and unable to give The Pope's Sunday lecture at the Vatican, which is called the Angelus and the Papal Audience, Jason and Dylan returned home an hour ago from their holiday to Rome and the Vatican city.

The Pope normally leads the faithful in praying the Angelus prayer in Latin from the window of his study in the Apostolic Palace.

Jason has just come into my office where I was working with Aiden....

We opened the box's and saw we each had a gold crucifix, brought from the Mondo Cattolico from their store in St. Peter's Square.

10.00am

I was in the bar helping Roger when the emergency alarm on the radios came to life....

"Medical emergency, Arlo's office"

As I was rushing their, Harry overtook me with the big medical backpack containing practically everything including a defibrillator.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Liam rushing their as well... fucking hell he can shift for somebody with a prosthetic lower leg!!

As I got nearer I could hear screams but didn't know if it was Arlo or Aiden?

I got to the office and found Aiden laying on the floor, screaming and crying...Arlo and Harry was trying to comfort him and holding his hands etc.

Liam got their and immediately took charge. He was cool, calm and collect.......

Judging from the angle of Aidens lower leg it was pretty obvious what the problem was. Arlo asked for an ambulance.

Harry covered Aidens leg with the cloth from Arlo's conference table so Aiden couldn't see his leg.

The paramedic arrived quickly...he was in the fast response car. Liam explained about Aidens leg and the 'pin' holding the bone together with screws and plate. He took one look at Aidens leg and got on his radio requesting an ambulance.

The paramedic gave Aiden "gas and air" also known as Entonox, which is a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen that you breathe in through a mask to manage pain quickly.

Aiden was in a lot of pain and his face was contorted and he was still screaming and crying.

Harry, being Harry, started crying as well...he hates seeing people in pain and hurting. I really don't know why he rushes to help as he knows he ends up getting worked up and really upset. But....this is Harry...the most caring lad you will ever meet....

Josh has know joined us and is holding Aidens hand telling him "it's OK mate, it will be alright, I'm here"

Part 1911

Aiden was in a lot of pain when he was being loaded onto the stretcher.

The paramedics put some sort of blow up bandage on his leg, which Liam told me afterwards was a "pneumatic splint"

Josh went with him to the hospital.

Harry was, bless him, upset and realised that this injury was pretty bad.

When Aiden was on the way to the hospital I could see the look of fear in Liam's eyes. I asked him if he's ok and how bad does he think Aidens leg is?

Liam said one word before he headed back to the kitchen ...."bad"

2 and half hours later Josh phones.

Apparently the rod and plate that Aiden has, has become loose and a screw broke, causing his bone to split even further.

Aiden's had all the x-rays, MRI scans and the surgeons are operating tomorrow to repair the bone by putting in a different assortment of plates, rod and screws. The only downfall is these plates and rod will remain in his leg permanently.

Josh has phoned Aidens dad and he said that he will fly over ASAP. Aiden stopped him and said "dad, it's just a broken leg, and you don't like flying here."

Josh said that Aiden and his dad started speaking gaelic which he didn't understand but said it got 'a bit heated'

Harry insisted...no... he ordered that he is going to see Aiden and Arlo said they will visit him together and bring Josh home when they leave.

When Harry 'takes charge' you bloody know it!

Part 1912

After their visit too the hospital to see Aiden, Arlo and Harry brought back Josh, who was clearly a bit emotional.

Harry who thinks Dylan doesn't know about his Mcdonalds visits, was a bit shocked when Dylan asked Harry what he had at McDonald's his time?

Unfortunately Harry got a touch of harry-itus and immediately said "big mac meal plus a banana milkshake" before he engaged his brain!!

We all heard Harry then say "oh..shit!"

Dylan laughed, as did we all....

Josh started crying and we sat him down on the reception sofa

I asked him why he's crying as Aiden is in the best place and the damage to his leg can be repaired.

I was a bit shocked and mainly upset when he told me what Aiden said...

Aiden is deeply worried that he will now lose his job as he now has another 6-9 months rehabilitation, and said he feels useless.

Josh also told us that Aiden's dad wants him to come back to Ireland. I told Josh that Aiden is an adult so it's up to him, not his dad.

Harry, being Harry, agreed with me and told Josh not too worry as "I'll punch his dad in the face and hide Aidens passport"

Josh smiled and gave Harry a hug saying "yea, and I think you probably would as well"

We all went to the bar but Josh decided he was tired and went to the staff quarters.

Next morning....

I told Josh that he is with me today as we're going to the hospital to see Aiden, before his planned 2.00pm operation.

We get too the hospital at 10.00am and found Aiden in bed with a huge plaster cast on his leg. He looked miserable.

"And by the time you get out of hospital in a couple or 3 days you will both be able to move into your new staff flat"

Both of them looked at me and smiled. Josh asked "you being serious? We can have one of the new flats"
