I cried and was being consoled by Dylan.

We both went to meeting room 1.

Literally everybody that lives in were present.

As we entered I could see all their eyes burning into mine.

Their was a deadly hush......

"Right, I make no apologies for this meeting at this time of night, but I feel you need to hear what I'm going to say and I need to tell you. Yes I was considering buying the F***** hotel in the town centre. It was an investment only and WOULD NEVER REPLACE THIS HOTEL OR THE STAFF IN IT. I'm really fucked off on 2 accounts. The first one is the Chinese whispers that have totally exaggerated the situation and the one that has really got to me is nobody had the bollocks to approach me and ask what was happening. All I got was a horrible atmosphere aimed at me. I've given this hotel my all. I've done all what I can....I've fucking built you lot your own flats and furnished them. The rent you pay each month doesn't even pay for the food you eat let alone the bills. I thought we were a family? I would defend you lot with my life. And to think that some of you think I have given up on you lot can't be further from the truth. I'm fucking angry but I'm more upset about this situation. So to make it perfectly clear, I am not and will not buy that hotel, even as an investment. So if that's perfectly clear to everybody and cleared up the Chinese whispers, thank you for attending and I let you carry on with your evening"

I then walked out before they had a chance to say anything.

I went for a walk around the gardens and looked back at the imposing front entrance of the hotel.

I cried and cried a bit more.....

I sat in the love seat that Ian built....

I saw a figure appear out of the shadows....it was lovely Leo...

He sat on the love seat and put his arm round me. He didn't say a word just had his arm round me.

We sat their in silence for about 10 minutes before Leo spoke.

"The lads are worried about you. They all realise that they have made a big mistake in not talking to you. John and Henry are distraught as they think it's all their fault as they told people in general conversation about that hotel. Harry is in a flood of tears. Come on mate, they realise their huge mistake but please understand it from their point of view as well. They didn't know HOW to approach you on the subject. I should have seen this coming and then happening but I didn't until it was a bit too late. I'm sorry Jason I let you down their and I apologise"

I cried more, but this time so did Leo

Part 2004

After Leo and me managed to compose ourselves and wipe away the tears we headed back into the hotel....

Billy was behind reception and saw us walk in.....

He had red eyes...he looked at me and said "sorry Jason"

Leo managed to steer me to the bar, although I just wanted to go to my flat.

I saw my lovely Dylan who gave me a hug........

We went in the bar and I kid you not every live in member of staff was there. Each one shook my hand and gave me a hug saying one word..'sorry'

When it came to John and Henry, they apologised for saying what they said to the others and didn't realise it would cause as much upset as it has. They asked me if I would prefer it if they moved out and left the hotel.

I hugged the pair of them .....

I told them "not to be stupid, of course I DON'T want you two to leave. You haven't done anything wrong! If was you who told me about the state of the hotel and how the owner tried covering it up"

The last lad was Harry...he was crying, his eyes very red, and without him wearing glasses, his eyes were more prominent.

He looked at me with his puppy eyed look that he gives me when he's done something wrong or is 'sorry'

It was a 'stand off'....he stood and looked at me and I stood and looked at him.........our eyes locked on to each other......

It was Tony that said "for fucks sake you two! Give each other a fucking hug!"

Before I could react....Harry was hugging me tight......

Part 2005

Their was a few tears and lots of hugs but the tension is cleared now.

I told the lads that if they have anything to say or are worried about anything then fucking tell me in future!!

I told them the bar is now a free bar and got a huge cheer!!

I sat down with Dylan and was joined by Harry and Luke. Then John and Henry asked to join us at the table.

Henry really felt bad about how things got out of hand and was very red eyed. I reassured him that he and John done nothing wrong so stop worrying.

Arlo and Aiden then joined us and they also felt bad about the situation.

Moral was obviously low at the moment and I just had to do something to cheer the lads up....

Henry asked if he could organise one of the hotels legendry staff parties? He said him and John are willing to pay for some party food. John said he would like to see what these parties are all about?

Arlo thought that was a great idea and asked if it could be a 'themed' party.

Arlo stood up and asked for everybodies attention...he then told them that I have agreed (did I?) To have another party and John and Henry are willing to pay for some party food!

Martin then stood up and said that is unfair that them 2 pay for food and suggested that everybody contributes £5. Lots of cheers from the lads and they agreed that everybody should contribute.

Connor then said "let's have a toga party! The only thing you can wear is a toga and sliders!"

Another loud cheer went up and Henry said he will organise it!!

It was then Jack that said, as a joke, "the bar is only free to those in just underwear!"

Fuck me.....with seconds the lads were stripping to their boxers!!

Part 2006

Even Leo and Tony and Billy stripped to their boxers!!!

The lads were laughing and joking and the atmosphere was back to normal.....

I could see Henry and John looking around at the lads.....their smiles were great and both had obvious erections. Both were wearing 'Tighty Whities" which didn't help covering up their boners!

Jack was now extremely busy working the bar!! Serves him right in all honesty, as it was his suggestion for them to strip to their underwear!!

Next morning......

06.20am.....

The lads arriving for breakfast, all very happy, chatty and talking to each other.

Joe arrived with Tom. He tapped me on the shoulder and asked to speak to me privately after breakfast. He was smiling so I knew it wasn't bad news.

Anyway after breakfast me and Joe went into the office for a chat....

He told me that he obviously heard about the "problems" that the F***** hotel in town had caused with the staff here and he apologised for his part... that was nice of him but it wasn't his fault at all!!

He then told me...."I have had another word with the council planners. I've had an idea that I ran passed them. I told them that if we purchased the hotel could we 'change the use' from a hotel to a 'serviced office accommodation'. In other words change to a business centre renting out the, now bedrooms, into small offices for start up companies? It has car parking, reception, a couple of meetings rooms, a kitchen and dining room. Yes it would cost money to convert but we do have a couple of builders working here now, don't we!"

My mind started racing.....the obvious question was.....how much?

Joe smiled "about £500,000 complete and refurbished into office accommodation. With freehold as well. I think if we had a meeting with the owner, Paul James, we could buy it off him, cheap, before the official receivers got involved. If we can it would be cheaper, a lot cheaper than half a million"

I phoned Billy and asked him to ask Henry and John to come to the office now please.

Within 5 minutes both of them arrived, in the work gear with paint on their hands etc.

I didn't beat about the bush...."lads, do you get involved with planning permission and drawing up plans to convert buildings etc"

They told me that they don't, but have a bloke they always use when they have too......

I explained Joe's plan to convert it to serviced office accommodation. I also told them that I appreciate them telling me 'not to touch it with a barge pole' but that was as a hotel?

Both John and Henry looked at each other, smiled and said "that sounds like a bloody good idea to be honest. And as an idea, the Labour costs will be nothing as you already employ us! That's if of course you want us to do it that is?"

I told them that "of course I would like you to do the refurbishment but I will of course pay you both a 'bonus' when it's completed."

I told Joe to start the negotiations with the owner.

Henry laughted..."and of course this conversation is private and doesn't leave this office!"

I smiled and said "spot on...not a word to anybody please"

If you have changed your mind you MUST tell the guys. Even if you are not intending to run it as a hotel, they have a right to know what is going on and why you will be very busy and therefore not around the hotel so much.

Part 2007.

Harry's and Liams evening class has been cancelled tonight due to the college having no gas for the ovens due to a leak.

I asked to see the directors, Dylan, Leo, Tony and Ian before evening meal and explained my idea about the serviced office accommodation. I told them that as it will be part of this hotel portfolio, they will also be directors of that as well.

At evening meal I explained my thinking about this town centre hotel and changing it into a serviced office accommodation if the local council planning allows. I told them it's just for investment purposes only and will not affect the staff here or the hotel. I also told them that I will be employing new members of staff which will include perhaps a manager and receptionist and perhaps a part time caterer. It will be part of this hotels portfolio.

The lads seemed to accept that and thought is was a good idea in principle.

I was a bit shocked when Alex made a comment that "if your looking at only part time caterers why can't we help out with our kitchen staff to save you spending money on extra wages?"

The rest of the kitchen staff seemed to agree with Alex....

I learnt a very valuable lesson then......... keep the staff informed and not in the dark and they will help out however they can!

Then Billy, kindly volunteered to help train the new manager....

Then Connor said that "I hope you will use John and Henry to refurb it and pay them a bonus to help them pay for Henry's parents care?"

The others cheered and thought that was a wonderful idea!!

I felt my eyes reddened and at one point I thought I was going to cry..

Part 2008

Later, I went to see John amd Henry.

I knocked on their flat and Henry answered. Normal dress, just in shorts!!

I asked if I could have a quick word?

John came out of the bathroom stark bollock naked!! Obviously he didn't know I was their...I heard him say fuck, cover his genitals and went back into the bathroom. He came back out wearing a towel around his waist.

I apologised for interrupting them.

Henry told me they are just on the way to see his parents as one of the carers said she found his mum had fallen out of her wheelchair and was on the floor. His dad didn't seem to realise?

I again apologised and said I will speak to them later on or tomorrow

I went back to my flat to find Harry talking to Dylan......

Should have realised that Harry should have been doing his lecturing at college, but they had a gas leak, so Wednesday's was arranged to be Lukes late night working in the gym.

Dylan went to make the cappuccinos as I sat next to Harry on the sofa. Harry done his normal and removed his shirt and laid across my lap so I could massage his head and shoulders. He said it really helps him relax and clears his head....

I know that most nights Luke does the same to him.

We got talking and Harry came up with a good idea about the refreshments and food for the 'business centre' .....

I will give Harry his dues.... he admitted it was Alex's ideas and not his...

He suggested that we could put a hot water machine in the reception area with tea and coffee facility's for the clients to use and then have a daily 'menu' for the clients to fill in if they want anything we can make up in this kitchen and then we can deliver the orders to them?

Next morning at breakfast I asked Henry how his mum is? And what the situation is like now?

He asked if after work he could come and speak to me, as he needs a bit of advice....he didn't seem his normal self and looked sad to be honest.

11.00am....

Joe arrives in reception, wanting to see me...

He tells me that he has been in contact with the local council planning department about changing the town centre hotel into a business centre. They are all for it and so are the local councillors who sit on the planning committee.!!! They reckon their will be no problem with gaining planning consent as the Full council made a council decision that their aim is to encourage new business into the town. Also the local 'enterprise and partnership' scheme would welcome a Business centre in the area.

Joe thinks the next step is to contact the hotels owner Paul James with a cash offer for the freehold of the business. Joe has seen his accounts for last year and has seen his debts......he is of the professional opinion that he is practically bankrupt. Joe thinks we can use this against him as Mr James used his personal home as security against a loan he took out to keep the hotel going, which Joe said was so unprofessional and stupid risking his own home to save what was obviously a failing business.

I asked Joe to arrange a urgent meeting with Mr James.

I went to find John and Henry to ask them to contact the bloke they use for drawing plans up etc for planning permission.

PRE-WARNING......

This part is highly emotional.

It includes a 'matter of personal opinion' which might differ from yours.

If it does differ from yours, can I ask for no adverse or nasty comments

I found John and Henry decorating and painting a guest bedroom.

John looked at me and nodded towards Henry.... Henry looked terrible, his eyes were red raw and it was obvious he had been crying...

I asked Henry if he would rather talk about what's troubling him now than wait until after work?

He burst into tears....and I mean tears...

I told him "Henry, let's go to your flat and talk, ok mate"

John said he will stay and continue working.....

We got into Henry's flat and I told him to have a shower when I make the cappuccinos.

He came out in just a pair of shorts and sat next to me on the sofa...

He put him head of my shoulder and the tears started... I hugged him.

He went on to tell me that the fall his mum had was pretty bad and his dad's dementia has got a lot worse.

"I just don't know what to do anymore Jason. They need more care with their dressing, personal hygiene etc. We're pushed financially already and we have even spoken about me giving up my job to look after them full time and me moving in with them. John isn't happy about that. What should I do?"

I looked at him and told him the following......

"Henry, I know what my personal feelings are about your situation and now you have to make very difficult decisions, both financially and emotionally. You might not like what I'm going to say mate, so if you don't think you can handle that perhaps I'm not the best person to seek advice from?"

Henry looked at me for a few seconds then said "apart from John your the only person I trust enough to ask as I knew you will tell me as it is and won't bullshit me. So please Jason, say what your thinking?"

I knew what I was going to say would really upset him, which I didn't want to do....but I really believe it could be the best way forward.

"Henry, your not even 21 yet and look what you have done already to help your parents. Their is only so much you can do by yourself. I don't think your parents would approve of you getting into financial trouble to help them and I don't think you moving in and becoming their full time carer is a good idea either. They need more specialist care. You just can't, as you say, give them the 24 hour a day help, that they need. I know your going to hate me now but I really think that they need to be in a care home full time for their own safety. You won't be able to afford the one that you would like for them, but the council ones which won't cost you anything as such, as your parents will be 'means tested', aren't as bad as you think. Your parents wouldn't want to see you like this. They would want you to be able to enjoy life with John. That's what people your parents age want for their children. For your own sanity, both financially and emotionally and for the safety of your parents, it might be worth considering?"

Henry burst into tears, as did I.

I totally agree with jason and from personsl experience i gave up work to look after both of my parents. It's hard work. They were a couple of times i lost my temper with my father and it hurt me

As a carer I agree with jason. It's not worth henry giving up his job to look after his parents. Once things start getting that bad. The only sensible thing to do is unfortunately make the difficult choice to place them into a home with specialist 24hr care avaliable. Plus also it would save henry the emotional turmoil of having to look after them himself if he gave up work.

We both cried...Henry was really upset and I felt for him...

He had to make a decision that was going to be absolutely emotionally draining on him.

We heard a knock on the door and John walked in.....

John said he knocked as he didn't want to walk in without giving us a option of shouting "go away"

John sat the other side of Henry and put his arm round his shoulder asking him if he felt any better?

Henry dried his eyes with the back of his hand and replied "oh..John, I love you so much and this is so unfair on you! We have talked and Jason told me what he thinks. He pulled no punches either. I've got to make some hard emotional decisions but I feel with yours and Jason's support I can be strong enough to make them"

John gave Henry a big cuddle and told him "and I love you so much mate wot ever decisions you make I will support you 110%"

I thought that was a good time to leave them to talk......

I stood up to leave and so did Henry who gave me a full body hug thanking me for my advice and support.

I went back to reception to be asked to phone Joe....

I phoned him from the office. He told me that Paul James will speak to me about the freehold purchase of his hotel. Joe also told me that the bank has formally requested that the loan Paul took, secured on his home, is paid in full within 14 days. Joe reckons Paul Will listen and except a good deal from us.

I was feeling a lot happier now.

A knock on my office door. It was Alex asking if he could speak to me. He came in and I asked him to sit down......

He then showed me a sample of the food menu that we could use for the business centre. He then went on to tell me that the menu could easier be made here and then driven over to the business centre?

He then showed me a good sample menu of sandwiches, rolls, wraps, crisps, biscuits etc and he said if we put a microwave in he could do paninis as well.

It was a well thought out menu to be honest. He even put a cost price and then a selling price so I could see what profit we are making. He made a point of saying "not a lot of profit in its self but its a service that could make the business centre looks good as its another service it offers?

Things are looking good at the moment.......I just hope that Henry is emotionally strong enough to make whatever decision he has to make....

It's a tough decision for Henry to make at such a young age ,but he's done his parents proud looking after them for so long ,I agree with Jason much better to be looked after 24/7 with folk who know what they are doing ,it's a heartbreak decision to make but it's the right one ,his parents as Jason said would want him to live his life

I saw Henry and John in work gear walking past reception. Henry said him and John will make up the work time they took out by working later tonight. I told them I still expect them at evening meal, without fail.

Arlo caught sight of me and waved me towards his office.....

I went in and saw Aiden sitting down stuffing wedding brochures that they produced into A4 envelopes and then putting them through the franking machine.

Arlo, bless him, produced a brochure for a "business centre" and the facilities that they offer from office rental, telephone answering, mail handling, meeting rooms etc etc etc.

To be honest it looked good. He told me he designed it and printed it!!

He said all we have to do "is change the photos to the actual photos and add or remove the facilities listed. Then Aiden here is going to phone up small businesses and offer them the facilities that your business centre offers. Obviously you will have to work out the prices you want to charge per facilities you offer"

Joe made it very clear to Mr James that if the hotel does go into receivership the official receivers will only be interested in selling for a price that clears the debts. His personal loan will not be included and Mr James could lose his home as a result.

Mr James called both Joe and me "hard bastards, that takes no prisoners!"

Joe agreed, picked up his paperwork, put them back in his briefcase and stood up saying to me "I think we're done here"

He apologised immediately and asked Joe and me to sit down and please continue.....

I was happy and Leo knew by the look on my face that I had brought the hotel from Paul James.

Next morning....

Breakfast...

Oh god...Henry...you just have too feel for him.

The social services lady was really good with him, reassuring him that his dad's loves him but just doesn't remember his face.

Dementia is just a fucking morale lowering condition for those related to somebody who has it.

Not being remembered by your own Father but hearing him talk about how wonderful his son is, is fucking heart breaking.

The 2 ladies has done their care survey.

I made it very clear too them that Henry and his partner can't afford to pay for 24 hour care for his parents and is struggling big time to pay for what they get so far.

I told them that they now live in at the hotel as they couldn't afford to pay for their flat and the carers fees.

Henry told them he would like his parents to be in the same care home although his dad doesn't recognise mum as his wife.

The ladies fully understood not only Henry's position but his parents position with regard to his dad's later stage dementia and not recognising who his wife or son are any more.

It was agreed that an urgent care/assisted living home was needed. It was also agreed that 50% of what Henry is paying at the moment will be now be paid by the council, until a full time place in a home is arranged.

You could see the relief on Henry's face immediately they said that.

To be honest I expected a battle with social services and the council to get them the 24hour care they needed but was pleasantly suprised at how helpful and compassionate they both were.

My mother "lived" with dementia, it was down to me to arrange a care home which luckily she liked.

Later on she didn't recognise me and oh yes it does hurt.

The children of parents living with dementia see them die not once, not twice but sometimes three times or more

We left Henry's parents home and travelled back to the hotel in silence apart from the odd sob from Henry.

Henry was heart broken......

We got back to the hotel and got out of the car....Henry hugged and thanked me.

I told Henry to go to his flat, have a shower and a cuppa and I'll get John.

Billy told me John was in room 18. I buzzed 18 on the internal phone. I told John we were back, Henry's in the flat having a shower and a cuppa and can he go to him to chat to him.

Billy also told me that the hotels solicitors have been on the phone and can I phone him ASAP.

I phoned the soclitors and he told me that the contracts for the purchase of the F**** hotel are now done and in the hands of Mr. James's solicitor.

I heard an almighty 'ruck' coming from Arlo's office. Lots of shouting and Aiden speaking in gaelic.

What the fuck was happening!!

I flew to his office with Billy behind me....we got in and found Aiden pinned to the wall with Arlo's hands round his neck!!!

We pulled Arlo off Aiden, for Aiden to smack Arlo over the head with his crutch!!

I shouted at the pair of them "to pack it in for gods sake"

Their was then silence, just them 2 staring at each other.

"What the fuck is going on?, I shouted, everybody in reception heard...remember where the fuck you are!"

Hello.....

It's Arlo here writing...

Firstly, thank you for the Dm's and comments, some nice some not so nice!

I would just like to say that me and Aiden are cousins, and we're very close to each other. We spend a lot of time together and, yes, we do talk about life, including our sex lives between us! That is private between us.

Brandon, my partner and Aiden's partner Josh are good friends as well and all 4 of us get on well. We are often in each other's flats!

As I'm a bit older than Aiden I'm like a big brother to him and advise him and support him when necessary.

Both being Irish and having different 'upbringing' we are typically Irish lads.....we say what we think and do what we say!

Anyway, with permission from Jason, he's what happened regarding my fight with Aiden.......

Putting it bluntly....Aiden is sex mad!!! He loves it!!

He always was and no doubt always will be!

Any excuse to get naked, wank, suck and fuck and Aiden's their!

It's just since moving to the UK and living in the hotel, well away from his parents, who are typical Irish strict parents and Roman Catholic, Aiden has become somebody that wants sex 24/7/365.

It started with the lovely Josh, who he really does love and 'understands' his needs, to being a bit more 'public' about his needs especially when we have one of the hotels parties! As you have read at the last one Aiden was tied to a table and fucked, face fucked and sucked at the same time in full view of everybody!!

I didn't like that and told him he's becoming a 'cum slut' and worse still it not being in private like in his flat.

I thought it was a bit embarrassing and I did tell him and Josh want I thought......

The final straw, which caused me to attack him, for which I did apologise for soon after, was when he told me about him wanting to go to a greenhouse sauna and be 'used' by all and sundry......

I made my thoughts VERY CLEAR to him on that and my disapproval. Not of them going but what he wanted to do when he got their.

I'm afraid I 'flipped' out and saw red when he mentioned 'that's good coming from somebody and my troupe stripping stark bollock naked on a stage for money!!'

As you know I do, do that, but to raise money for my charity in my late twins name.

I now know what Aiden 'actually' meant, but not only did he say it wrong, (a bit of harry-itus!) I took it the wrong way as well.

Before I knew it I had pulled him up from the chair and pinned him up against the wall!

We started shouting at each other and Aiden was swearing at me in Gaelic. A habit he does when he gets wound up.......

I was just about to either headbut him or punch his lights out, when Jason and Billy came in and pulled me off him....

Then the fucker hit me over the head with his crutch!! Yep....he hit me with his crutch.....that fucking hurt...right on the side of me head! Nearly knocked me head off! The fucking bastard!!

Jason sent Aiden to his flat to calm down and then gave me one hell of a bollocking.

I should have known better and did apologise immediately to Jason and Billy......

Jason told me that for the next week "I'm on the naughty step!"

Just before evening meal I was in my flat with Brandon explaining what happened when their was a knock on the door.....

It was Aiden.....

He limped in and said "I've come in peace and left me crutch in my flat!"

We both laughted and hugged each other.......

They are cousins and being irish do have quick tempers as Arlo and Aiden will probably admit to. Aiden did have a touch of Harryitus which meant Arlo taking it the wrong way. All these guys are like family to each other, they care about each other. Like any family siblings sometimes fall out with each other. But they still have that strong bond love them all

I've put both Arlo and Aiden on the 'naughty step' for the rest of the week.!!!

In reality that means Jack shit!! It's just a saying, but they both knew they were out of order and upset me.

I had just sat down for the evening meal when Billy handed me a copy of an email that was sent to me....

It was from my solicitors saying that Mr Paul James's had a few amendments to the contract of sale for my purchase of his hotel. Nothing too bad but enough to niggle me a bit to be honest. One of the things was for me to honour the future bookings he has for the next month even though he has already been paid for them!! Bloody cheeky bugger......

Aiden, Josh, Arlo and Brandon came into the dining room together all smiling.....they got as far as the table before the others started ducking under the table with Liam shouting "take cover, flying crutches!".....

"Ha fucking ha", shouted Aiden, before he started waving his crutch around and poking Liam and Aj in the belly with it....

We all laughted...

Their was then even more laughter when all of a sudden, from nowhere, Aiden's crutch went flying across the room with Smudge on it like he was riding it like a witch's broom stick!!

Smudge had taken either a disliking or a liking to it and was now dragging it on the floor out of the dining room.!!!

Smudge had literally knocked it out of Aiden's hand!

Before anybody could react as such Smudge and the crutch was gone!!

We all started laughing to see Smudge dragging Aidens crutch away with Aiden in hot pursuit hopping after him!!

It was so funny to see!!!

It was good old Arlo who managed to chase after Smudge and get the crutch back.......

God knows what Smudge was going to do with it. But I'll tell you now his bloody quick and strong!!

After dinner I went to see how Harry was and on entering his flat I found him, Luke, Liam and Aj sitting down playing monopoly.

They were all in what I'm now calling "off duty flat uniform". That consists of them wearing just shorts and sliders!!!

I then went to see Aiden. Him and Josh were entertaining Connor and Martin....for fucks sake they were all dressed in shorts and sliders as well.!!!!

Then I visited Arlo......

For fucks sake.....In Arlo's flat was him and Brandon with Billy and Jack all in shorts and sliders!!!

Everywhere I turned I saw lads dressed in only shorts and sliders!!

My radio crackled...it was Dylan saying that Joe and Tom are visiting.

I went to my flat, giggling to myself wondering what "state of dress" they will be in!!!!

I went in, and, hooray (!) Joe and Tom were admittedly in shorts, but were wearing tee shirts as well, as was Dylan.

Joe was talking about the purchase of Mr Paul James hotel and he saw about the part he wants us to honour the future booking their.

Joe advised against it and advised that we refuse it and get him to cancel the bookings and refund the money.....

I went to my office and fired off an email to my solicitors informing them that from the date of the purchase of Mr Paul James hotel I will NOT honour any bookings from that date. Mr James is to cancel these bookings and return their money.

Next morning after breakfast I was asked to report to reception by Leo.

When I got their John was sitting on the sofa talking to a man I have never seen before?

John introduced me to him.....he was the bloke that draws up the plans of buildings that he uses.

The next minute this bloke, who I now know is called Brian pulled out a set of plans of Mr James hotel but converted to a business centre!!! The bedrooms were now offices and walls had been removed and extra walls added!!

Apparently John had already spoken too and had a meeting with Brian to get these plans done.

Brian said he knows the planning officer of the council very well, they watch the local footie team and play golf together. Brian also confirmed that he and the local council are all for this change of use and will be approved!! This is exactly what Joe told me.

The old saying, "it's not what you know, it's who you know" rings true here....and before you ask.... Dylan had heard that saying before and told me "and its very true...look at us!"

Brian actually recommended that when we have agreed on how I want the business centre to look like and the plans are adjusted accordingly we should not only submit them to the council but start the building works as well....

I took Brian and John into the office and we spread the drawings/plans onto the table.

Brian admitted that last year Mr James asked him to draw up plans for alterations, hence him having the plans and sizes which he kept on his computer.

We looked at the plans together and I listened to what both Brian and John were saying....it was obvious they were the experts!

I agreed the plans as they were showing exactly what I envisioned even including the outside signage.

Brian said he will submit the plans today. I instructed Leo to pay Brian for his services and the planning fees.

Brian will submit the planning application today!!

I got called again to reception where I saw 2 young lads sitting on the reception sofas.

Billy told me that they are members of staff from Mr James hotel asking if they still had jobs at the hotel as Mr James isn't telling them anything?

I saw Leo talking to them....he saw me and waved me over....

He introduced me to them...Ethan and Jacob. Both in their early 20's

They apologised for coming and said that Mr James hasn't said anything to them about their jobs other than 'wait and see what happens'.

Leo told them he understands their predicament and didn't blame them for being concerned about their jobs.

Apparently they are the only 2 full time members of staff!! All other staff are part timers.

Ethan works reception and the bar and Jacob works reception and the kitchen. Jacob said he cooks breakfasts and does the bar snacks, as they don't offer evening meals.

Leo looked at me with one of his looks that said 'say nothing'

Leo then told the lads that he is unable to discuss anything at the moment as Mr James still owns the hotel. He then told them "and unfortunately we can't discuss our plans for the hotel until Jason here has actually purchased it"

The lads fully appreciated what Leo said and again they apologised saying "we just don't trust Mr James anymore. He has shit on us before and often takes the piss"

I knew what Leo was thinking...... he looked at me and then asked the lads to tell him a bit about each other.

They are the best of friends, went to the same school's, live in the same road, and attended the same college both doing a 'hospitality and catering' course. Etham specialised in hospitality 60/40% and Jacob catering 70/30%.

I could tell that Leo was a bit impressed with them, by his body language, his non verbal communication he was giving me amd what he was saying to the lads.

Tom came out of the gym and saw us talking with the lads..... he knew them and came and said hello. Both of them used the college gym as did Tom!!!

Lovely Harry then arrived asking us if we wanted a hot drink and offered drinks to Ethan and Jacob. Both accepted a cappuccino. Harry went and made them and brought back 5 cappuccinos including one for Billy.

All of a sudden the pain in the arse Smudge arrived to see what was happening!!!!

The little bugger then jumped up on the sofa Ethan and Jacob were sitting on and plonked himself between them giving me his 'evil eyes' and look.

Ethan told us the "hotel has no bookings at the moment and Mr James told us we weren't needed today. Last time the hotel was empty he sent us home...without pay!"

Leo looked at me and I looked at him.....so Mr James is a bastard to his staff and tried to tell me he has guests saying!

Ethan told us that he and Jacob has visited the hotel before....for our LGBT Weekender!!

He quickly added that his younger sister is bisexual and his mum made him take her to the event to look after her! He took Jacob with him for moral support.....

Just then Arlo came to reception and I saw a quizzed look on Ethans face?

He then sat opened mouthed....I think he recognised Arlo from his full monty show !!!

We all had a laugh and smiled.

I sensed Leo had a plan up his sleeve so I left the talking to him for the time being.....

Leo looked at the lads...."Ok lads you're been honest and upfront and I like your initiative in coming to see us. So I will be totally upfront with you as well. Unfortunately we will not be keeping you on at the F**** hotel"

Both of the lads looked at each other and I could see them getting upset.......

"Thank you for being honest with us, I appreciate that and it gives us a bit of time to find a new job. And again we apologise for visiting and kind of putting you on the spot"

Leo looked at me and I nodded....

"I told you we will not be keeping you on at Mr James's hotel. But I have positions here that I think you could fill. If your interested in working here as full time employees come back tomorrow evening, with your cv's, certificates etc for a formal interview and I will tell you what the job will consist off etc."

I saw the smiles appear on the lads faces.....

Harry re-appeared with more cappuccinos and a bowl of sardines for Smudge who was still laying down between them. Smudge smelt the sardines and jumped down and sat at Harry's feet looking at the bowl!!

Harry asked if Ethan and Jacob are staying for evening meal?

Leo asked them if they wanted too stay for dinner and use the gym before?

They both said they would love too but they will have to go home first to get their gym kits and tell their parents they are having dinner here?

They left........

They both returned within 35 minutes and headed to the gym.

I saw Tom shake both of their hands and 'shoulder bumped' them.

They disappeared into the gym with Tom

I asked Leo what he is planning with them 2?

"Simple, Jacob can work part time in the kitchen and part time in the bar. He can also be in charge of any food requirements in the business centre and Jacob can work the bar and reception here as well as in the business centre. We now need to look at staff for the business centre. I suggest one full time manager and one receptionist full time. Make the front door a key coded lock one and therefore the centre workers have 24 hour access. Obviously we will have to sort out telephone lines and broadband to each office. I've asked Arlo to look at the services and facilities other business centres offer and perhaps we can offer them as well?"

I went to the gym to get my daily exercise, as ordered by Tom and Dylan!!

I got changed and went on the running machine. I saw Ethan doing weights and Jacob on the rowing machine.

Arlo was using the weights as well.

After I finished my 'time' on the running machine I went on the treadmill. After my 'sets' that I had to do I went into the changing room to have a shower.

I had my shower and was getting dressed when Arlo, Ethan and Jacob came in.

They started getting undressed for their showers when Ethan asked me "is it true about the table tradition for new staff eating for the first time?"

Arlo started laughing and said "tell them Jason, it's full stark bollock naked!"
