Taken a back with what the vicar had just confessed I looked down at him.”Get up off the floor and sit back down” I said as he looked up at me.

Wiping his face with his handkerchief Troy slowly turned got off his knees and slumped back down into his chair.

“All this because you fell in love with my aunt?”I sneered at him as he wiped his nose with a shaking hand.”you’ve sent Captain threatening letters for years and tonight broke into the shop because you love my aunt, well you sure have a funny way of showing it” I said shaking my head at him.

Shaking his head Troy looked up at me.”letters? Broke into the shop?Im sorry to disappoint you young man but that’s nothing to do with me.” he said sniffing quietly.

“So why then have you acted so malicious against my aunt if you love her?” I asked clutching the cold metal poke as I felt its heaviness on my thighs.

“You wouldn’t understand” Troy mumbled looking me up and down with distaste.

“Try me!” I growled glaring at him.

For a few seconds Troy looked into thin air as though his mind was remembering another time.

“I was brought up by god loving parents,Ruled me with the bible and the rod.Every Sunday they would have me lay the prayer books on the pews before my fathers service.After the service he would always tell me to go walk on gods green earth and take in what he had preached.”Troy said smiling to himself.

Still glaring at him I shrugged my shoulders”So what? What’s that got to do with anything?” I asked.

Dropping his smile Troy looked at me”Everything young man,It was on such a day I first layed eyes on her, your aunt I mean” he said.”I was walking through woods just past the farmers fields minding my own business when I heard a most beautiful singing.Being inquisitive i followed the sound and saw her walking through the woods naked as the day she was born.”he said smiling to himself again.

The early morning sunlight had crawled slowly through the windows of the cottage as we sat talking.

“I had her meet me in them woods every week for months for me to try and save her soul” Trevor smiled.”She had to or I would have told her parents what she gets up to whilst they go to church” he chuckled looking at me.

“You’re a sick man Troy” I said shaking my head at him with disgust.

“No!,don’t you see young man?,god put me here in the village for a reason” he snapped back at me widening his eyes as his grin grew across his face.

Gripping the poke tighter in my fist I shuffled in my seat as I looked into his mad looking eyes.

“What reason?” I asked swallowing quickly.

“To punish the _agans of this village of coarse.He sends them to me to spank and cane satans wicked ways out of them” he chuckled loudly.

Feeling I was slowly loosing the upper hand of the conversation I sat up quickly in my chair and moved the poke across my lap.

Troy’s eyes shot down at it and he squirmed in his chair.

“So what happened Troy, what changed between you and my aunt?I asked glaring at him.

Looking back at the floor he gave out a big sigh.”I let myself become weak minded, let her slowly creep into my mind with her beauty and bewitch me.Made me fall in love with her she did” he mumbled madly.

“Rubbish!,she didn’t bewitch you,it was all your perverse doing Troy” I barked back at him gritting my teeth.

Troy quickly looked up at me scowling.”She did she bewitched me like she has bewitched Colin and poor David,That’s what she does ,the witch!”he said angrily.

Raising the poke across my chest I raised my chin and scowled back at him.”You better settle down there vicar before I change my mind” I growled.

The madness in his eyes died away, shrinking back into his chair he raised his handkerchief back to his sweaty brow and slowly mopped it.

“We seem to be at a stalemate young man,I can’t confess to something I never did.Davids death was just a tragic accident nothing more” he said quietly looking back at the floor.

“So who are these cloaked weirdos in the church then?”I asked watching him cross his legs.

For a second I noticed his body stiffen before answering”Not your business young man, Church business! Not yours” he said abruptly.

Feeling angry that he wasn’t going to tell me anymore I quickly stood up from my chair making him jump back in his chair.”Well it looks like your days are numbered as vicar of this village Troy!.”I said as I walked quickly towards the door still holding the poke.

“Wait!,wait young man there must be some sort of deal we can come to” I heard him say panicked.Stopping at the door I looked at a pile of untidy deed contracts that lay on a wooden cabinet.Smiling to myself I turned round and glared at Troy.”Maybe there is, depends what your willing to give doesn’t it vicar!” I said grinning holding the fire poke infront of me with both hands.

The fresh morning air felt a delight to my lungs as I stepped out of Troys cottage.Smiling to myself I slowly walked down the path with my right hand firmly touching the folded important paper in my right trouser pocket.

‘That’ll teach you to mess with my family and friends you crazy bastard’i thought to myself as I wearily began the walk back home.

Crossing the road I glanced into the churchyard.It looked quiet and peaceful now as the morning sun beamed it first rays of sunlight onto the church stonework.As I passed the stone archway I couldn’t help but look in hoping the handsome stranger would be standing there waiting.

With no sign of him I hurried past as quick as my tired legs would carry me.

Some of the shops now showed some activity with their workers busying themselves putting out signs and carrying in stock.

Keeping my head down I walked on trying to think what the last thing Troy had said to me as he glared at me.”If I was you I’d get as far away from this village before it to late” yes that was it’ I thought to myself rolling my eyes and tutting quietly to myself.

The clip clop sound of hooves on tarmac brought my tired mind back to my surroundings.Looking up I watched in amazement as a small herd of wild ponies walked slowly in the road past me.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever get use to seeing that’ I thought to myself smiling.

Suddenly I heard a voice that I recognised.”Hey cuz, where have you been” it said sounding worried.

Looking up I could the slim curvy figure of Sharon standing under the old town clock wooden post.

Taking my right hand out of my pocket I gave a quick wave smiling at her.

“Where the hell you been?,we,ve been worried sick?”she asked as I approached her slowly.

“Did you miss me?” I said smiling trying not to look to longing at the short black pleated skirt that hung from her slim curvy hips.

A smile spread across her black lipsticked lips as she raised her leatherjacket clad arms towards me.”What do you think?” She said curling her arms round me and pressing her body hard onto mine.

A cold feeling shot down my body as my tired mind went into over drive.’fuck, please don’t let it be the cctv tape’ I thought to myself worriedly.
