Part 2093

I was proud of how Henry with John's help has handled his parents demise, especially being of a young age.

His mum having a severe stroke and his dad's dementia and then the care home and now the house clearance.

He's never moaned, nor has John about the amount of work and the financial burden that was placed on them.

They are 2, well adjusted lads with a marvellous attitude and work ethic.

Part 2094

After the eventful and some what embarrassing evening, me and Dylan eventually got to bed!!

Believe it or not, we got into bed, had a kiss and a cuddle and we both fell asleep!!!

Next morning.....

04.45am

Dylan woke earlier than the alarm and I felt his lips brush mine and heard him say "love you Jason"....

I woke up with a smile on my face and a raging boner......

Dylan had made me a cappuccino and he had already showered and got into his chef's whites...

He told him he's going to make a start in the kitchen.

06.15am

I went down to breakfast and on the table I saw Liam's 1st aid backpack, the defibrillator, a mobile phone, a box of condoms and a bottle of lube!

And a large sign saying "telling me to take my pick!"

Bastards!!! The lot of them!!

They all cheered and clapped and one big shit, who shall remain nameless, (but still love you HARRY!) shouts "didn't know you still had it in you"

Bastards!!!

Even Leo and Billy were cheering!!!

Fucking Bastards!!

I put both my arms up as a sign for them all to shut the fuck up, smiled and laughted and shouted back "your all sacked, every one of you, little bastards!!!"

The bastards cheered more!!!

Then Alex came out of the kitchen and gave me my breakfast.....

One egg on one piece of toast!!!

I looked at him.....

"Judging from wot I've heard you got more than your allowed 'protein' last night!"

I didn't know how to answer that? I had no comeback whatsoever....

John then came out of the kitchen with Alex and Sean and served the 'real' breakfast to us.....

Mozzarella, Basil & Zucchini Frittata......

Looked nice, smelt nice and tasted nice!!

Well done Alex!!!

Billy gave his normal day brief to the lads and after breakfast the lads went about their duties.

Henry and John went to Henry's parents house to clear it out and wait for the British Heart Foundation van to turn up.

Good old Aiden and Arlo are off to the business centre as Aiden has another 2 prospective clients that want office space.

He also is interviewing another person for the receptionist post... this time its a 25 year old lad who has just finished a 'business' course Level 3 Office Management & Administration (Receptionist & Office Skills) Diploma.

Aiden left me a copy of this lads CV and a glowing recommendation from his college.

Part 2095

It was going well, all busy and the afternoon teas fully booked again.

All of a sudden Harry comes hurtling round the corner, full of tears.

He gave me a huge hug....

"It's a benign tumor!!! It's not cancer!!" Was all I heard from him.

I hugged him back.....

Apparently its more of a 'lump' than a tumour but the main thing it's harmless and not the big C.

The consultant told him he can either leave it or have it removed under local anaesthetic and have about 6 stitches?

Arlo phoned.....Aiden has got another office suite let!!

And the lads for the interview has just arrived 15 minutes early.

Well done Aiden!!

Part 2096

I'm so happy for Harry, as I was worried about him big Time....

He then disappeared back to the kitchen with a skip in his step and you could see the relief on his face.

Arlo phoned again....

"The lad being interviewed is very good and Aiden is putting him through his paces!!....he also passed his 'cup' test by taking our cups back to the kitchen, and when Aiden said he would make us all a cappuccino, he followed him to the coffee machine and carried the cups back to the office!"

I smiled to myself and said "the cup test, Aiden told me about that!"

"If he interviews well, replied Arlo, I think Aiden is going to invite him to the hotel tomorrow so you can give your approval or not?"

I told Arlo to tell Aiden that the lad can, if he gets the position, use the facilities at the hotel and will of course be invited to the gatherings and parties etc....

"I think he's ready told him that! He's definitely a gym goer!" Replied Arlo. "Nice built, blonde hair, blue eyes and a sexy smile!"

I laughted "perhaps Aiden wasn't the best person to interview him!! He's probably thinking of ways to get him naked and and play around!"

We both laughted......

Henry then phoned.....

The British Heart Foundation van has been and cleared most of the stuff out off the house. Their on the way now to a 'self storage' company with the rest of the stuff left, like all the personal items etc.....

I asked him how he was?

"Relieved thats its done and dusted now. Less to worry about and the council have said that the house will be going to a young family. They asked if I can drop the keys off by Friday."

I felt proud of him on his handling of this very emotional situation.

Part 2096

Aiden has done so well at the Business Centre......

So far we have, confirmed, 4 full time office residents

The driving school, the cleaning company, a website designer and a bookkeeper.

He has also managed to get 12 companies using the 'mail handling' service.

In fact he's handling everything to do with the business centre with the help of Arlo.

At evening meal I started looking around the table and reminiscing again about each of the lads and their circumstances in joining the team here at the hotel.

It was Leo that noticed I was 'away with the fairies' (no pun intended! Are we allowed to say that anymore in this PC world we live in now?) and came and sat next to me.

"You OK Jay?, he asked, wots up mate? You reminiscing again?"

God Leo knows me all so well!!

To be honest...I'm proud of every single one of them, with no exceptions.

They all had different backgrounds and upbringing....some good, some bad, some terrible......

BUT....they all survived and now are a bunch of hard working, loyal, sensitive members of the 'family'

All they needed was a 2nd chance and somebody that believed in them.

I feel blessed, to be honest.

Part 2097

I saw my 'family' All chatting, laughing and socialising.

They all seemed so happy...

Dylan came out of the kitchen and sat next to me....he also noticed that I was probably reminiscing. He touched my knee under the table and asked if I was OK?

After dinner me and Dylan had a quick drink in the bar....

Ethan was serving and he also seemed happy and was smiling..... apparently they are staying the weekend in Aidens flat and a bit excited that his and Jacobs parents are coming Sunday to try out our carvery.....Jacob seemed happy as well.....

I saw Dylan take Jacob to one side and then heard Jacob say "wot!!! Your joking?" I saw Dylan shake his head and saw the shock on Jacobs face getting worse by the second!!!

Dylan came and sat down with me again and was smiling to himself...I asked why?

"I've just told Jacob that he is the Lead chef on the carvery Sunday!"

I asked him if that's a bit cruel? For Dylan to say "the carvery has to be prepared tomorrow morning to ensure we have enough of everything or get a order in"

Next morning....

After Billy gave his usual morning encouragement and duty details the lads got on with it....

Aiden reminded me that Dean, the lad he interviewed yesterday is coming in today to see and speak to me.

I asked him what he thought of him and the staffing of the Business Centre?

I told him to be honest with me....

We sat down and he said he will get us a cappuccino..... I knew he was using the time to make the cappuccinos to build up courage to speak honestly with me......

He returned with the cappuccinos.

"Ok, he said, Dean is good and probably too good to be the receptionist. I like the marketing side....I can sell sand to the Arabs if needed, using my Irish charm, (Dylan thought that was a wonderful saying, adding but surely the Arabs have enough sand already? God I love you so much Dylan!) But I love all the marketing and putting things in place and helping Arlo with the hotel stuff and that. I don't want to be based full time at the Business Centre, if I'm totally honest"

I didn't expect that answer, but I did ask him to be honest with me, so my own fault......

Deep down I had a feeling Aiden might feel like that....

So I had already hatched plan "B" in my head.......

Part 2098.

And to be honest I didn't actually want Aiden to spend all day every day at the Business Centre as he works well with Arlo here at the hotel and I like his company and sense of humour.....

Plan 'B' then might have to be brought into play I was thinking.

Dean, the Business Centres applicant, arrived at reception. He was dressed in a smart suit and tie.

Aiden greeted him and took him to his office.

About 5 minutes later I saw the pair of them disappear to the gym.

30 minutes later they came out and Aiden introduced me to Dean. He was well spoken.

We went into my office and Dean handed me a folder with his Cv and certificates in. I had a good read..

5 minutes later Aiden came in with cappuccinos for us.....

I asked Aiden to stay......

I interviewed Dean and he answered my questions well and asked sensible questions throughout.

Plan "B" was coming together nicely!

Lovely Harry knocked on the door with his tea trolley and sandwiches and snacks....

I asked Harry if he would take Dean out to the dining room and feed and give him a hot drink please.

I told Dean I'm just going to have a word with Aiden and we will get back to him soon.

I then spoke to Aiden, putting my plan "B" in operation.

This is what I said to Aiden.....

"Dean interviewed well and I agree with you that the receptionist job is probably not right for him. So what about we make him the Manager of the centre? His job will be to look after the clients and the staff and the mail and telephone handling side of the Business? But I want you to continue doing what you have been doing and that is marketing the Centre, getting new clients etc etc. That means you still work here doing that and of course helping Arlo with the hotels marketing as well. You have done so well, so far, and I'm really pleased with what you have done. As a reward for that, as of now, you are the new General Manager of the Business Centre. Dean and the staff will report to you as you are now the big boss. Your pay will increase accordingly. How do you feel about that ?"

I saw his eyes well up with water and the tears started looking out of the corners of his eyes.

"You being serious Jason? You want me to actually run the Business Centre from here but have Dean be the onsite manager? Yea...I would really love that and I promise I will do my best to make it a great success. As long as we can have weekly meetings and I can come to you if I need your help and advice?"

I stuck my hand out to shake his, but he refused my hand shake and stood up and asked for a hug!!! Of course he got his hug.....

I told him to dry his eyes and go and and fetch Dean to offer him the managers job.....

Aiden wiped his eyes on his sleeve and asked for 5 minutes to compose himself.

I saw him go into his office and hug Arlo....I then heard Arlo say "really? Well done bro..really well done, I'm proud of you cousin and I know your dad will be over the moon for you!"

10 minutes later Aiden came back too my office with Dean.....

Aiden returns with Dean....

Dean looks very nervous at the minute.

We all sat down and thanked Dean for waiting.

His face dropped to the floor when I told him......

"We have given this great thought but I'm afraid we are not going to offer you the position of receptionist at the Business Centre"

Dean thanked us for considering him and our time for interviewing him and stood up and held his hand out to shake mine......

I told him to sit down.....

"Dean the reason we are not offering you the job is because we want to offer you the Business Centres Managers job. Yes, we would like you to manage the day to day busy at the centre. Aiden will be your boss but will work from here with Arlo marketing the Business Centre and getting new business. Aiden wants us 3 to hold weekly meetings to see how we are doing etc etc. Obviously the pay will be increased for that position if you accept the job, which we both hope you will"

Dean accepted the job!!! With a huge smile on his face!!!

I told him he can start on Monday and him and Aiden should start looking for and interviewing for a receptionist!!

Dean smiled at that comment......

The 3 of us went to the bar for a soft drink to celebrate Dean's new position. I introduced him to Ethan who was working the bar and told him that he is the temporary cleaner at the Business Centre until we sort out a proper cleaner.

Ethan took exception to that and shouted back "bloody cheek I am a proper cleaner!"

We all laughted......

Aiden asked Dean if he brought his gym kit with him as he's about to hit the gym for half an hour. Dean said he had.

A bit about Dean.....

He's nearly 25.

Rides a moped but has a full driving licence.

Lives in his own flat.

He dad pays half of the rent on his flat.

He moved out of his family home as his dad remarried a woman who had a younger child and didn't like Dean whatsoever.

Dean didn't like her either as her son got everything and Dean was left out.

She got her own way in the end and forced him to move put. His dad pays half the rent out of guilt.

Part 2100 (wow!!)

Aiden asked if I'm going to the gym as well, to do my daily exercise?

So the 3 of us headed to the gym and on the way we saw Smudge. He saw Aiden and I swear to god now, he hissed and turned him back on him!! Think he was a bit upset that Aiden has been too busy to play with him etc....

Aiden introduced Dean to Tom and the staff in the gym.

We got into the changing room to find a naked Connor cleaning the showers.

I saw Dean looking at Connors piecings especially his Prince Albert?

We started getting changed...you could tell that Dean 'works out' as soon as he took his shirt off.

I loved his 'wings' tattoo on his back and shoulders...it really looked good and the detail was shit hot.

Eventually we got in the gym and Dean hit the weights with Aiden and got on a rowing machine....

I could hear the conversation between Dean and Aiden...it was mainly about the staff, their living in situations and who was partnered with whom....Dean didn't seen bothered about the number of lads here that are bi or gay...

He told Aiden that his best mate is gay and has a male partner but he wasn't gay and had only just split up with his girlfriend. I saw the look of disappointment on Aiden's face!!!

Aiden laughted and told Dean that he won't like their parties and get togethers then as they almost always end up naked!!!

Dean burst out laughing and told Aiden "don't bother me as I prefer to be naked than clothed! I'm always naked in me flat even when my gay mate and his partner visits!!!"

Dean then laughted and said "me dad and his wife and her son visited me once unannounced and knocked on me flat door. I didn't know who it was so I put on a pair of shorts to open the door. I invited them in and me dad's wife told me to get dressed. I told her bluntly that as she kicked me out, this is my flat and I'll dress how I feel not how you tell me too. If you don't like it, don't come round!"

Aiden laughted....telling Dean "good for you...its your flat so you do what you want"

Dean then told us that his dad asked him to get dressed and out of respect for him he did...but his wife and her son has never been around again. He then gave a wicked smile before adding "and good riddance to her as well"

Aiden told him about the Emergency services LBGT weekenders we hold at the hotel every year and Dean suprised us by saying that he knows and was at the last one with his gay mate!! Aiden asked if he recognised Arlo who he saw at the Business Centre?

You could see Dean thinking before he said "his face looked familiar but I can't place where from?"

The penny then dropped...

Dean realised where he had seen Arlo before.....

"Arlo, he was the stripper!"

Just then Brandon walked into the gym and I saw Dean do a 'double take'.......

Aiden laughted...."yep, that's Arlo's partner, who stripped on stage with Arlo!!"

Dean smiled...."are you and Arlo related by any chance?"

"Arlo's my cousin" just then Josh walked into the gym, wiping down the machines and Aiden called him over.

"And this is my lovely partner, Josh, we live together here in one of the staff flats"

Dean looked a bit flustered...."so your gay as well Aiden? I wouldn't have guessed that in a million years!"

Aiden asked Dean if he wanted to stay for evening meal so he can introduce him to the others?

Josh laughted "I take it you're told him about the table tradition then?"

Aiden smiled and told Dean what the table tradition involves and its meaning......

Dean looked at me......I laughted and said everybody has done it!! Including me, but it's voluntary, you don't have to do it!!"

Dean looked at Aiden and Josh...

Aiden looked at Josh and said "shall we do it with him if he wants to do it?"

Dean just smiled and told us "like I said I don't mind being naked!"

We all laughted and continued with our workouts.....

About an hour later we had finished and headed to the changing rooms for a shower......

I stripped and went into the showers and Dean joined me, but due to Aiden's leg plaster he couldn't.

Whilst showering me and Dean was talking generally and he thanked me for the opportunity we had given him to manage the Business Centre. He seemed thrilled that we thought he was good enough for the position. He promised he would do his best and loved the idea of weekly meetings to discuss his performance.

I was taken aback a bit about that comment and corrected him by saying "the weekly meeting are not to discuss your performance mate, it's to discuss the state of play within the Business Centre."

He looked at me......he smiled.

Dean has a lovey buff physique on him. He really was in great shape. And his 'wings' tattoo on his back really suits him.

We had our shower and was now getting dressed when Aiden told Dean if he wants to stay for evening meal he can chill out in his flat with him and Josh until then?

Dean immediately thanked him and said he would like that "if its no trouble?"

Tony and Ian then appeared and got changed into their gym kits...

Aiden introduced Dean to them....

Aiden, the little bugger, then told them...

"Dean's staying for evening meal and even though he doesn't officially start until Monday, he doesn't mind getting naked at any opportunity so he might be doing the table tradition tonight!!! And he knows most of us are gay!"

Dean looked at Tony and Ian

Aiden and Dean disappeared to his flat until evening meal called.

I went back to reception and Arlo called me into his office....

His finalised the Business Centres brochure in hard copy as well as email copy....."if you approve this version I can sent it out by post and email. But we will need to be ready as we could get clients that want to use the mail and handling services Immediately?"

I radioed through to Aiden, asking for him and Dean to come to Arlo's office please.....

5 minutes later they appeared... Aiden in shorts and a tee shirt and Dean in a track suit.....

Arlo showed them the final version of the brochure...... they both thought it was great and had everything they plan to do in it.

He told them that as soon as he posts them out by post or email, clients might need that service with immediate effect?

Dean looked at us 3 and said "as from Monday we will be ready. I will be their from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. I can, with Aiden's help deal with reception and the mail handling and the phone calls and dealing with the office clients. Ethan can do the cleaning until we find a suitable cleaner and a receptionist?"

Aiden agreed we will be ready and said that next week he will be at the Business Centre supporting Dean. And Henry and John will be finishing off the remaining decorating and office 10 extension

I think those 2 are going to work well together.....

I was just walking back to reception when Jacob asked if he could have a word?

We went into the office....

He apologised for seeing me but he is deeply worried about Sunday carvery and him being the lead chef?

I told him that the first point of call should be Dylan and has he spoken to him?

"I'm sorry Jason, but I have spoken to him and he is maintaining that I will be the lead chef. But I'm scared and worried I will fuck it up, especially as my parents will be their?"

I told him.... "if Dylan has put you as lead chef, then you will be lead chef. Its his kitchen and he's in charge....but I'll tell you this, for free, if he didn't think you could do it, he wouldn't have put you in that position. And I know that Harry and Liam won't let you fail! So stop worrying about it, get the things needed for the carvery ready and for gods sake, talk to Harry and Liam if you're unsure about anything!"

Evening meal.....

Aiden and Dean was at the table.

Dean still dressed in his tracksuit.

Aiden introduced him to all the others and I saw a few of the lads look Dean up and down!!!

They were all friendly to him and all shook his hand or said hello or welcome to the team speech.

Dean stood up and said "I do believe it's a tradition that new staff have to undergo wot you lot call the table tradition? Or that's what Aiden told me but that's because he wants to see me naked!! Can anyone confirm that's true?"

It was Alex that answered first and told him "that's correct and we're all done it"

Dean, the craftly little sod, smiled and replied "ok, thank you, so your volunteering to do it with me then?"

Alex looked a bit shocked and everybody looked at him with Harry saying "he got you their big time Alex!!"

Alex stood up and walked towards Dean.... he was wearing a tee shirt and jeans...

When he got their, he looked at Dean and said "ok, sure".....

Alex then took his tee shirt off...

Dean took his tracksuit top off, revealing he had nothing on underneath it.....

Alex then took his trainers and socks off.....

Dean done the same!!!

Alex removed his trousers.....

So did Dean!!!

Now the pair were standing their in just boxers!!!

The other started cheering and clapping "off,off,off"

Alex looked at Dean and said "ok we both remove our boxers and then we have to stand their with our hands on our heads and legs apart for a few seconds then turn round for a few seconds?"

Dean smiled "ok...in 3..2...1..

They both removed their boxers and were now stark bollock naked standing with their hands on their heads and legs apart!!

Part 2105

So their was Alex and Dean, stark bollock naked facing us.....

They then both turned round and then we saw Dean's 'wings' tattoo on his back seem to move and open and close!! Everytime he moved his hands, which were still on his head the 'wings' moved!!

Connor was fascinated by that and Arlo shouted..."the wings are fucking moving!! His an angel!"

To be honest they were a bit memorising to look at as they actually, really seemed to be moving.

The lads cheered and clapped both Dean and Alex......

Dean shooked Alex's hand and said "thanks mate, I appreciate you doing that with me"

They both were patted on the back by the others and I could see Dean's smile. I felt that he was relieved that he done it and now feels like one of the team?

Beef and onion pie or steak and kidney pie for dinner.....home made from scratch by Sean apparently!!

After dinner we all went to the bar, as we normally do, and I offered to buy Dean a drink.... I told him I don't want him to drink and then ride his moped home, so if he wants an alcoholic one he can stay the night in the staff quarters.

He thanked me and said "I should celebrate getting the job really, so yea if it's OK I would like to stay the night?"

I brought him a pint!!

I know a few of the others brought him a drink as well!!

I must have come across a bit 'hard' on him talking about drinking and riding his moped as, apparently, he asked Harry what that was all about?

Harry told him about the past and how Sean had a serious accident on his moped in the past and how we went to look for him and Tony risking his life to save Sean when we found him......

Dean was a bit taken aback and Harry told him..."Your part of this big family now. We all look out for each other and we're all brothers. And Jason loves and cares for us all. He stands up for us and nobody, and I mean nobody, will ever hurt any of us again. Some of us here had horrendous upbringing and I mean horrendous. Jason gave us all a 2nd chance...."

Dean did stay the night, in the staff quarters......

Next morning.....

Just before breakfast I went to the staff quarters.

I quietly knocked on the door and Connor answered. He was dressed in just shorts..

He invited me in and I saw Martin and Dean sitting on the sofa drinking a cuppa.

They were also in just shorts!!!

Dean thanked me for letting him stay and enjoy his celebration drinks, but admitted he has a bit of a hangover!!

I asked him if he's staying after breakfast or going home?

He asked why.....

I told him that Tony is collecting his new staff uniform, from the outfitters at 9.00am.

Dean asked if he could go with Tony to get the correct sizes etc?

Good idea I though......

Breakfast called....

I joined the others at the breakfast table and good old John told us that today's breakfast is "Eggs paprika, consisting of eggs, wholemeal bread, onions, sliced into thin rings,vegetable oil, tomatoes, sliced mild paprika, plus extra for sprinkling, ground black pepper served over a portion of wholegrain rice."

They looked good and tasted, well different, but delicious!

Dean was amazed at the different kind of meals the staff get served with....

Aiden told him that his welcome to come for breakfast and evening meal every day if he wanted as meals are reflected in his wages......

Dean looked at me.....

I nodded and told him "if Aiden has said that, then that is correct mate"

I swear to god that I saw his eyes watered, but he managed to keep his composure

Part 2107

Dean and Tony went to the outfitters and returned with 2 x full staff uniforms for Dean.

Dean looked really happy.....

The next minute Dean was in Aiden's office talking about Monday and his 1st day as full time manager of the Business Centre.

I was walking past his office when Aiden called me in.

Leo has given Dean one of the spare laptops and loaded it up with all the necessary software that Aiden will need, including printable word documents for the office tenancy and mail and telephone handling, etc etc.

Aiden then told me that Henry and John are on site now dealing with the extension of office 10.

He then asked if I could take him, Dean and Ethan to the Business Centre as they want to sort out the office their and Ethan to give the Centre a good clean etc. They then want to go through the procedures etc.

I smiled and said "can't you do that Monday?"

"It's Saturday morning, what are you doing working anyway?"

Aiden gave me one of his looks and growled at me..... "a managers job is never done! You told me that! And we want to be up and ready for 8.00am Monday"

I couldn't argue with him, just chuffed at their work ethics.

I asked if Dean had his driving licence on him? He took it out of his wallet and showed me....

I told him to go and see Leo or Billy on reception and they will record his driving licence and then he can drive the hotel van to the Business Centre.

Aiden then asked if they could make a small detour on the way to the Centre as Dean wants to check on his flat and get some clean clothes as his staying at the hotel till Monday.

Oh, right.......his staying the weekend!!

Later on in the day, I went to Henry and John's flat and knocked on the door.

John let me in and I saw the 2 of them have become accustomed to the dress of being in just shorts and sliders!

I asked them point-blank what they were doing working at the Business Centre on a Saturday?

They both looked at each other before Henry said "well...we had to finish off office 10 as Aiden wants the Centre open fully on Monday?"

I was fuming and asked "did Aiden ask you to work today then?"

"God no Jason, in fact we asked Aiden for a key last night and told him that we are going in today?"

I opened my mouth to give them a bollocking when Henry put his hand up towards me as a sign to 'shut the fuck up?'

"Jason, I know what your thinking and I know you want to give us a telling off....BUT....look mate, you have given us both more time off than really we needed to help with my parents etc. And with pay! So thank you for that, it really was appreciated."

I looked at them both.. I didn't know wot to say and now definitely can't give them a bollocking, so just thanked them......

I gave them both a hug.

I then went to Aiden's flat...I was determined to give somebody a bollocking!!! Just to make me feel better and in control!!!

I knocked on his door to hear a shout of "hello"

I went in and Aiden, Dean and Arlo, all shirtless and in shorts, sitting round his table looking at paperwork and photographs scattered around the table.

Arlo got up and said he's just making the coffees, do I want a cuppa?

Do I want a cuppa? I saw the paperwork and photos were all of the Business Centre!! They were still bloody working!!!

I counted to 10 in my head....

"Yes please Arlo, I will have a cuppa and then I can offer to help you 3 as it fucking obvious you are working today, Saturday, the fucking weekend when it's your day off!"

Aiden looked at me, with the evil look he has and then growled at me like he does!!!

The little fucker then said "well we welcome your help and advice, so thank you, take a seat and we will show you where we're at and wot we're doing "

Wot the fuck!!!!

If I didn't love him so much I would have punched him right on the nose!

I sat down and asked them "you do realise it Saturday? And technically Dean doesn't start officially until 08.00am Monday?"

Dean smiled..."I know but I having meals and a room for the weekend so I don't mind and I agree with Aiden, we really should be up and running BY Monday?"

I couldn't disagree with their logic.

About 5 minutes later Josh arrived. He kissed Aiden and said he's going to have a shower.....

We carried on going over "procedures" for the Business Centre when Josh came back into the room.

He was stark bollock naked, drying his hair with a towel!!!

Obviously he felt "comfortable" with us all, including Dean, to be stark bollock naked and showing off his scars.......

Next day....Sunday.

After breakfast I could see Jacob looking really tense and worked up.

It was obvious he was worried about the carvery he was leading today.

I had a word with Dylan about Jacob asking if he made the right decision about him running the carvery. Dylan was adamant that he is and will be doing it. I wasn't prepared to argue with him!!

11.45am.....

I went too the dining room to see Jacob, Harry and Liam.....

It was all set up and Liam was bringing out the vegetables and Jacob was putting the beef, gammon and turkey on the rack.

11.55am....

I wished the lads well and said "have a good lads, keep calm and keep heads together.

Harry winked at me .......

The first lot of diners started being seated by the Sunday girls and John....yes John was working!!

As they were queuing to get the plates of meat I saw Harry standing next to Jacob, encouraging him.

After about 5 people told Jacob what meat they wanted, I saw him start to relax and smile and become 'chatty' with the diners....it was nice to see....

An hour into service, my radio crackled with a message..."Ethan and Jacobs parents have just arrived"

I know Harry had his radio with earpiece in so he heard that message from Billy....

Chantell seated their parents and took their drinks order...and explained how the carvery works.

Ethan then took the drinks to table 16 and got a shock when he realised it was for his and Jacobs parents!!

They went up to the servery to get their plate of meats and Jacob suddenly realised it was them!!

Liam heard and immediately went to Jacob, in ear shot of the parents, and said "chef all vegetables are out and gravy correct temperature. I will prepare more chef"

Jacob thanked Liam and Liam replied "thanks chef"

I could see the smile on Jacobs parents faces and all a smile appeared on his face!!

Harry then appeared and said, again in ear shot of the parents, "new meats ready, when needed Chef"

Jacob smiled and said thanks...Harry replied "yes Chef"

Harry and Liam were, how you say?, 'bigging up' Jacob in front of his parents...I thought that was nice of them..

I could immediately see that made Jacob more relaxed....

I went to the bar and asked Ethan to take a bottle of wine to his parents, complimentary of the hotel.

I told Chantell that table 16 was "on the house".....no charge to the table.

Jacob was now really into the swing of things, chatting to the diners etc......

Harry, without Jacob or Ethan knowing, made their parents a cake for their dessert....Harry really is a lovely, caring lad.

After the parents had finished their carvery, Chantell took out the cake and told the parents, that the cake was with the compliments of the chefs as was their carvery.

The parents insisted on paying!!!

In fact they insisted so much Chantell came and got me and introduced me to them...... I told them that all new staffs family always get the first meal complimentary of the hotel......

The carvery had now finished and all the diners gone....

Now staff carvery as their evening meal....

Once again, Dean was shocked at how well the staff were fed!!

We all queued up in a orderly fashion for Jacob to serve us our meat......

We all were sat at the table, including Jacob, Harry and Liam, when Billy stood up and banged his fork on his glass.....

"Well done to the carvery chefs today, especially to Jacob for leading the team today and producing an absolute cracking carvery! I must also mention that today the record for the number of carveries sold has been beaten by 2!! So well done Jacob, Harry and Liam!"

All the lads stood up and clapped and cheered the 3 chefs.....

Jacob looked totally shocked and embarrassed but at least he was smiling!!

Later that evening Harry came and saw me in my flat.....Luke was with him as well....they both looked worried, and a bit upset.....

Dylan went and made the cappuccinos.

Harry told me that the doctor has advised that they remove the internal lump in his chest as its a simple operation. Local anaesthetic and about 5 stitches. But if he leaves it and it does grow bigger then the operation becomes more serious and a bigger risk.

I looked at him, thinking he has to have it removed now surely?

Harry looked at Luke and I noticed they were holding hands and Luke was squeezing Harry's....

Somethings not right here?

I asked Harry outright what the problem was...."It's a no brainer mate, it's got to be removed sooner rather than later"

"I'm scared Dad. I hate hospitals and everytime I go their it's bad news" Harry replied with tears in his eyes now....

I know that since Harry's life threatening experience Luke now has, I will describe it as a "phobia," about Harry being in hospital.

I asked Harry if he wanted me to go with him, if he decides to have it removed, ASAP.......

I saw the relief immediately on Lukes face and Harry smiled..."yes please Dad, I would like that...."

I told him to contact the hospital first thing in the morning...

Harry and Luke hugged each other and then both hugged me.....

Luke told Harry that he is doing the right thing....

Harry's hand went up under his shirt and I could see him feel lump....

I asked him to lift his shirt up, as when he was feeling the lump I thought it had got bigger....

It had, definitely, in my mind become more prominent.

I can understand why both are now concerned.

We d*unk our cappuccinos and spoke about the carvery and how well Jacob had done.....and that they now hold the record for the most diners!

After they left, with Harry promising me that he will contact the hospital tomorrow, I went to see Aiden to see if he was ok for the opening of the Business Centre tomorrow, and whether he needs anything.....

I knocked on his flat door....Josh answered the door and let me in...

I saw Aiden and Dean sitting at his table printing out contracts for the renting of the offices and the mail and telephone handling service ones as well.

They were both shirtless but both had jeans on for a change!

I smiled and told them that they won't have anything to do tomorrow as they seem to have done everything yesterday and today!

Dean laughted ......"We have 4 people coming in for a interview for the receptionist job and 3 people coming in to look at renting a office. And 2 people coming in interested in using us as a vitual office with mail handling services!"

Dean looked at the floor and we didn't say anything for ages but probably was only for 30 seconds..

He told me who it was and what led up to it.....

Dean was in the staff quarters when that lad came to stay for the night as he was on early shift the next day......

Dean was sitting on the sofa with Connor and Martin when this lad came out of the shower dressed in only a towel around his waist.......

I've asked Dean to take up the story....

Next morning.....

06.15am.....

We are having breakfast and Aiden and Dean are excited about the official opening of the Business Centre and they have a busy day ahead of them with potential new clients and interviews for the receptionist position.

Half way to filling up the office suites at the Business Centre!!

7 offices now let....

Well done Aiden.....he has worked really hard on this with Arlo.

8.00pm.....

The hotels phone rang....

The airline that uses our hotel has a broken plane and need to put up people overnight....

Next morning 07.30hrs....

The guests from the airline have had their breakfast and are waiting for the coach to come and take them back to the airport....

They have another busy day with another couple of potential office renters looking at offices to rent. They told me that Jason has left the decision on the appointment of the receptionist to them and that they will be offering her the position to start ASAP.

Dean was really excited about the opening of the Business Centre and as from tomorrow 5 companies are moving into their offices!!

Leo and Tony are being driven by Jason to the airport. They seemed really happy and excited about Portugal.
