So during lockdown my stepson decided to stay with myself and his mum instead of his dads as has just has a room at our house. I’m 34 and he’s 26. We get on well and always have. He’s had girlfriends come and go but didn’t really care, met a few but nothing more.

I found out he and his mum are both on find my friend so can see where each other is at all times. I thought that was abit weird but it’s up to them.

He would say he’s out with a guy mate or playing poker or darts or something and she would show me where it said he was. She didn’t often look but it’s weird knowing you can just see where someone is.

Most of the time I was just curious where he was, usually nowhere very entertaining. Mainly his dad’s house. When my girlfriend got a new iPad I had realised she had paired it with her iPhone and find my friend was on there.

She would be at work and her iPad just on the side it’s very hard not to just see where he was. Like if I wanted some alone time that he wasn’t on his way.

It got interesting a few times as my partner would say where is he here, I’d look and it was a wooded car park just off a main road from where he was working. Didn’t think much of it maybe had a phone call or needed a drink.

When possible I’d have a quick check to see where he was and clearly not knowing where his friends live made things different to know what he was doing.

Mainly on a Saturday or Sunday night he was parked up by a sports centre about 20 mins away. I don’t really care but it was just on my mind. I guessed he was just chatting to a girl in his car as he couldn’t just bring one back.

The night that will always stay with me was on a Sunday night around 7pm again my partner gave me her phoned and said where abouts is he. As I zoomed out from the blue dot, I quickly realised exactly where he was. I had never been there but it’s a well known gay lay-by. I said the area he was in and gave her the phone back. I couldn’t believe it, surely some girls went there. I asked guys on here who have said they’ve never seen a female before.

It made me question a lot about him and knew exactly when he was going out to see a friend was a lie. Yes he can do what he likes and I’d never say anything to him but I was addicted to know where he would go next
