At this point i should probably tell you a little more about my superiors, my CO is a man of around 50, silver haired , neat moustached, broad shouldered, firm but fair, Edwards my PTI around late thirties so at the time this all happened he was around 10 years my senior me being 25 at the time this occured.Edwards had short dark military buzz cut hair was around 6ft tall and extremely well built, as id soon discover.
CO was formally attired in military uniform, Edwards in customary navy shorts, trainers and neat tight fitting white pt vest with red piping .
I stepped forward Edwards hand on my shoulder guiding me toward the wooden frame, the frame consisted of to slightly inclined wooden struts which met at the top supported by a third strut forming an upright A frame at the front was a wooden shallow box into which now i placed my bare feet, a board with 2 notches in secred my feet with legs parted, fastened in place with a fixing pin, ahead off me dangling down from heavy rope where 2 hoops of leather with buckles like mini belts into which now my wrists where threaded, Edwards pulled the straps tight around my wrists, slowly he pulled the rope and a pulley fixed overhead squeeked and turned as i was stretched out my feet in the box now on tiptoes my arms hoisted up above me my head looking firmly ahead, i watched as Edwards fastened the rope firmly around a cleat.
My CO now spoke telling me i would now recieve a caning, Edwards would be administering the punishment and i was to count out load each stroke , i was to recieve 40 in 4 blocks of 10 all on my bare arse.
The CO stepped aside and watched from behind.
I watched Edwards from the corner of my eye as he selected a rattan cane from a stand holding several of the devilish implements, i swalowed hard my mouth dry as he flexed it , examining it, flicking it around it whistled in the still and soundless room, all i could here was my breathing my heartbeat thumped in my ears, my god what had i agreed too, but i knew it was too late to reconsider.

asked my CO
More than ready i should say sir, he replied.
