Part 2380

I asked Mr K and his colleague what can Zak do now as its gone past the time limit for appealing?

Mr K told me he should contact his solicitor as their is such a thing as the "The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), which investigates miscarriages of justice. The CCRC can then send the case to the Court of Appeal. Zak has a strong argument for why the conviction is unsafe, because of this new evidence that was not available at the time of the trial, plus it proves that witnesses lied in court about what happened"

I thanked them for their advice and asked them if they wanted to have something to eat as Zak and the other lads working on my Business centre extension are due back in about 15 mins for their lunch?

Unfortunately, they couldn't stay as, this visit is really just a curtesy call as probation services cannot appeal a criminal conviction because they are not a prosecuting body or the defendant, they are just involved in supervising after conviction and assessing your engagement with your sentence.

As they were leaving Zak walked in the front door with the other builders lads....

Putting it bluntly, Zak nearly shit himself and went as white as a sheet.....(sorry Zak, but you did mate)

Mr K quickly shook Zaks hand and told him "don't worry mate, it's all good, very good in fact as I'm sure Jason will tell you"

The next minute, Zak, his face whiter than white and his hands shaking, came into my office......

Part 2381

Poor Zak....he was like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a car.....

I was angry....not with Zak, but with his situation....

British justice at his best!! Yeah right!!

And after mine and Dylan's brush with injustice I just felt the need to clear Zak of his criminal record.

I sat Zak down and sat next too him in front of the laptop......

I started the video of the mobile phone footage and put my arm round his shoulders....

He watched it and started crying, saying "thats what I told the court, but they didn't believe me...."

He sobbed.......

Harry came into my office to see where I was as I wasn't at the dining table.......

Harry always knocks but never waits to be invited in.. his a bugger for that.....

He saw Zak crying and must of seen what was on the laptop as he said "oh God I'm so sorry" and turned and left......

5 minutes later Dylan knocked and came in...Harry must of told him.

He sat the other side of Zak and he also put his arm round Zaks shoulders.

I started the footage from the beginning and all 3 of us watched it unfold in silence.....

Now....because of what happened to Dylan and the torture he suffered, resulting in him losing a testicle and the prison officers involved receiving lengthy prison sentences, Dylan strongly believes in justice.

I saw Dylan's left leg start to bounce up and down off the floor, knowing this means he's getting angry and upset.....

We then heard....."fucking liaring bastards, Jason you have to do something." Said Dylan.

I then told Zak what Mr. K, his probation officer, told me about CCRC and appealing his conviction.

Zak sobbed more...."I can't afford too, I don't have the money to get a solicitor"

Dylan stood up and shouted..."I don't care if you haven't the money Zak, I have money. Jason get your solicitors involved please, I'll pay whatever it takes"

Zak sobbed more......

Poor Zak knowing you were innocent and then being punished for something you didn't do is despicable. I hope this ruling be overturned and those liars are brought to book!

Having to live with an injustice must be awful. Zak, Jason and all the guys have your back!

As we were consoling Zak, another knock on the door....

I said 'come in' and for the first time ever, Harry had knocked and waited to be invited in!

He had 3 cups of cappuccino for us, and 3 brandy's (!) and told us he has saved our lunchs for when we have finished. (Love you Harry)

Dylan told Harry to tell John and Henry that Zak won't be at work this afternoon and can they inform the college tutors.

Harry disappeared after giving us our drinks.....

5 minutes later.....

Another knock on the door....

It was John...

"Sorry for interrupting, I've told the tutors. Zak, whatever the problem is mate, you couldn't wish for 2 better people than Jason and Dylan helping you. And don't forget we're all family here and we all love you mate"

John then touched and squeezed Zaks shoulders.......making Zak sob more.

After finishing our drinks, both the cappuccinos and the brandy, the 3 of us headed to the dining room.

Harry served us our lunch and him, Sean and Alex all gave Zak a hug.

I phoned the company solicitors and explained the situation to them about Zak, the new evidence and the CCRC.

They told me that they think we will need a 'specialist' solicitor and told me that they know of one in another solicitors office and they will give them a phone and get them to phone me.

Within an hour, a Mr Baker from these solicitors phoned and asked us to come into his office this afternoon......

Mr Baker was most helpful, took the relevant details from Zak, got him to sign some consent forms.

Before we left the hotel I got Leo to make a new copy of the memory stick with the new evidence on it.

I gave the memory stick to Mr Baker.

He told me the first step is too apply to the Crown Court via Form EX107, and ask for the court proceedings transcript.

He said their is a fee for the transcript, but the fee depends on how many pages etc etc

I offered to pay money upfront to cover the bill etc etc and asked how much he required....

Mr Baker told us "you come highly recommended from your company solicitors, so no payment is required upfront....but our terms are invoices to be paid with 7 days please."

We were in his office for over an hour and a half, filling in what Zak could remember on this form EX107.

Mr Baker then said "its takes between 3 - 12 months for the Application to the CCRC to see if they think their is a miscarriage of justice, like new evidence to support the appeal. If they think there is a good reason to, they will send your case to the appeal courts.

The Court of Appeal is the court that has the power to make the final decision on your guilt or innocence. They can then either, uphold the conviction, Quash the conviction and find you not guilty or order a re-trial in the Crown Court."

He then went on to say......

"From what you have told me and this new mobile phone recording the incident, it seems like the 3 witnesses committed perjury. That could deem your conviction as what we call an "unsafe conviction" which could result in the Appeal Court squashing your conviction totally"

We both thanked Mr Baker and shook his hand....

As we got into the car, Zak started crying.....

We got back to the hotel.....

Zak gave me a hug......

I told him that if nobody else is staying in the staff quarters tonight, don't be by yourself, come and stay with me and Dylan.

Evening meal.....

Zak was a bit quiet....

The other were a bit concerned about him and kept asking if he was ok?

Nobody apart from me, Dylan, John, and Henry and possibly Harry and Leo know about John's conviction, probation or the new evidence.

Now Leo and Harry are the 2 people in the hotel who literally knows everything that goes on about everybody!

I would bet my life on them 2 NOT saying a word about anything they know that is as serious as this.

I know that Harry has 'harry-itus' and says what he thinks, but on things like this he is very discreet.

Zak, bless him, in front of all the lads told them "yea, I'm ok, I think, but I got into a bit of trouble a few months back and maintained my innocence but got convicted because the witnesses lied through their teeth. But new evidence has come to light by a video recording on a mobile phone, that proves my innocence and that the witnesses committed perjury. Thanks to Dylan and Jason I'm now appealing"

Zak is obviously unaware of the staffs backgrounds, so was a bit shocked when it didn't seem to bother any of them and that they didn't ask him any direct questions.

It was Alex that told him "Zak, most of us here has a background which other people would find, how shall I put it, a bit dubious? You live in, you work here, therefore you are part of this family. Nobody is going to judge you mate. But we all are here to help, support, defend and advise you if needed."

Zak started crying again....

Part 2385

Zak was being comforted by the lads.

Tonight's evening meal was a One-of-a-kind melty Baked White Mac with Cheese with Bacon, mozzarella and cream cheese entwined with crispy candied bacon, all nestled in delicious shell pasta.

This was Jacobs first evening meal as chef in charge....

That means that he was in charge of the preparation of the meal from the start to it being served at the table.....

He had Alex and Sean helping him and doing as directed by him.

It was lucky that he over estimated what was needed as most of us asked for more.....it really was delicious......

Well done Jacob!!

Later that evening, Luke was working the late boot fitness camp, which meant that Harry, as normal, was having his head massaged in my flat.

Zak knocked at the door and was invited in by Dylan

Zak is learning as he was dressed in just shorts, tee shirt and sliders!!

I was in shorts and tee shirt, as was Dylan and Harry was laying across us in just a pair of shorts.

I saw Zak stare at Harry's head... probably the first time he has seen the scar on Harry's head?

Harry asked Zak if he was ok now?

He also told Zak that.... "your safe here mate. The lads will look after you. It doesn't matter what you done in the past, or didn't do in your case, we're all family and therefore look out for each other."

Zak replied...."I know, most of the other's have already been to the staff quarters to ask me if I'm ok and that."

Dylan looked at the clock....

"Better go and put the kettle on, Luke will be here in 5 minutes"

6 minutes later Luke did indeed arrive, looking hot and very sweaty as he normally did after the bootcamp, as he's a 'hands on' instructor and actually takes part himself.

Dylan told Luke that "your shorts and sliders are in the bathroom mate"

Luke headed towards the bathroom to have a shower.

Harry told Zak that "the shower here is great! It's got 6 shower heads and it's a super duper power shower.

It power showers every part of your body at once...its great after a good workout!"

Luke finished in the shower and came out in just shorts and sliders.

We all had our cappuccinos and Harry and Luke wished us all goodnight as they left to go back to their own flat...

Zak asked if he could take us up on our offer for him to stay here in the spare bedroom ?

Part 2386.

Next morning, my alarm clock went off.....the next minute their was a knock on my bedroom door....

It was Zak who brought in a cup of tea for Dylan and a cappuccino for me!!.

He was still dressed in just shorts.

Me and Dylan got up and went into the living room with our drinks...

Zak was by now dressed in his work gear......

I quried why he's up so early and thanked him again for the cuppa.

He's going to the flower wholesalers with Noah and Dean as Noah has a big order which needs finishing by Saturday morning. Zak is also helping out in the Flowery when he comes back from the Business Centre.

Breakfast was prepared by Alex with Sean and John serving us.

Today Alex made us a All-day breakfast frittata, consisting of rashers of back bacon, mushrooms, spinach, boiled potatoes, cut into rough chunks, cherry tomatoes, free-range eggs, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Didn't look that appetising (sorry Alex!) But by God, it tasted absolutely delicious and was very filling!!

10.30am.....

Dean arrived back in the Business Centre's company van and him and Aj unloaded a table tennis table!!!

It was in very good nick and had the net and net supports and a few table tennis bats and about 50 balls.

It was a fold up one on wheels, so was easy to move into the bar area.

I went back to my flat to hunt out my old table tennis bat!!! I was sure I hadn't thrown it away....

John, Henry and Zak returned to the hotel.....

The work at the Business Centre has now been completed and the college tutors told the student builders that they can go home as soon as they get back to the college.

It made sense for Zak to come back with John and Henry.

Zak straight away went to the Flowery to help Noah

Tomorrow is Noah's party .... and he already has got the 49 roses ready to give to the party lads.

Tony and Roger are getting the function room ready with decorations and party music and making sure the bar is well stocked!!

Its going to be interesting to see the lads dress wear.......

I heard over the radio that Billy was calling for Zak to come to reception to take a telephone call.

I got to reception first and told Billy to sort out a internal phone line for the Flowery.

Zak comes charging into reception looking a bit worried....

Billy told him he has a Mr Baker on the phone for him.

I told Billy to take it in the office.....

As he went into the office I shut the door behind him for privacy.

Just then, Henry walked past and Billy asked if he knows anything about telephone lines and adding one into the Flowery?

Our telephone system has many extensions.....each guest bedroom, the staff quarters, the staff flats, the bar, the kitchen, etc etc.

Henry admitted that he probably can't but John has put in extensions before so he might be able too, but not really our thing?

Julie overhead the conversation and told us...."a simple extension in the Flowery? My eldest son works for Vir*** Media...... do you want me to have a word with him?"

She then phoned her son, had a conversation about our phone system and put the phone down. "Yea he can do it tonight if you want....in exchange for a carvery Sunday for him and his girlfriend!"

Zak came out of the office....

I walked back to the Flowery with him and he told me that Mr Baker has got some of the court transcript from the original solicitors but not enough so he has filled in the form requesting the parts of the case he wants.

We got to the Flowery and I told Noah that their is a telephone extension being fitted in here tonight for him......

Evening meal.......

Grilled Pork Tenderloin with all the extras....

John said him, Henry and Zak are starting the staff quarters extension on Monday and will probably be best when they have to start knocking the living room wall down if the staff quarters don't have anybody staying their?

So it looks like Zak will be in one of my spare bedrooms and Noah and Dean in the other!!!

Of course they might want to stay in one of the hotel bedrooms, subject to availability?

7.00pm.....

Julie, her husband and their son arrive.

They go into the bar and their son, Colin is shown the hotels switchboard and then Noah takes him to the Flowery.

Apparently Colin can connect the new extension to our switchboard as our switchboard has the capacity to run 100 extensions from it.....

Colin got his step ladders out and moved one of our ceiling tiles. We have a suspended ceiling so the plan will be to run the cable over the ceiling so the cable is hidden.

The only trunking needed will be in the Flowery from the ceiling to the socket...as no guests go in their that is the best and quickest option.

Colin took out what looked like a small fishing rod and connected the cable to the end of it.....

He smiled as he told me that the rod extends 50 foot so he could, if necessary, run the cable 50 foot at a time....thus saving removing too many ceiling pieces.

About 45 minutes later him and Noah had got the cable from the reception switchboard to the actual Flowery.

9.30pm......

The reception switchboard phone rang displaying extension '60' calling.

Billy answered it and it was Colin phoning from the Flowery!!!

The phone rang again, this time displaying 'incoming call' so Billy answered it as he normally would. It was Colin!!!

So the Flowery phone can ring internal numbers and make external calls....so far so good!!!

The phone rang again, this time displaying a incoming mobile phone call.....

Again Billy answered it professionally and it was Colin again asking to be put through to the Flowery extension number 60...

Billy transferred the call by pressing '60' and Noah answered it!

It was now up and running!!!!

5 minutes later Colin was back and programmed the switchboard so it could print off and record the phone activities from extension 60.

It was now totally done and working. Colin even replaced the extension number 60 with 'Flowery'

I asked Colin what he wants for doing the job as he obviously used a lot of cable, trunking, socket etc etc.?

He smiled "well....I haven't paid for the stuff I used, if you know what I mean? So it's a carvery for me and my girlfriend on Sunday?

I smiled back and told him "yea ok a carvery plus drinks plus a taxi here and back on Sunday"

He shook my hand and joined his parents in the bar....

Arlo came into the bar, saw me and handed me a sheet of 3 papers.

It was a CV of a 22 year old lad that has just finished a college course in graphic design and is interested in Marketing and design.

His name is Aaron, lives locally on the estate and has been given a good reference by his tutor.

Arlo is going to give him an interview tomorrow....with a big difference......

He's going to show him the Flowery and ask him to create a marketing campaign for it from scratch!!!

Arlo has told Aaron that he will be spending the entire day with him and will be creating a campaign but didn't tell him what on!!

I looked at Arlo and said "do you not think that's a bit cruel on him?"

Arlo laughted...."see how he works under pressure from scratch within a time frame"

I just shook my head and brought us a drink.....I needed a brandy!! Arlo had a pint of Guinness....

Friday....

Day of Noah's party!!

08.30am

Aaron arrives in reception....

Arlo goes and gets him and takes him too his office.

He calls me on the radio and I go to his office.....

Aaron is blonde, nice physique, 5'11", wearing a nice jacket, tie and trousers.

We shake hands.....

The next minute Harry appears with his tea trolley and gets introduced to Aaron.....

Aaron drinks cappuccinos as well, so a good start for him!!

I leave them too it and see Arlo take him towards the Flowery, with his digital camera in his hand.

Half hour later they come back...

4 and a half hours later, as lunch was called, Arlo and Aaron arrive in the dining room.

He is introduced to the others....

I noticed that Aaron is now missing his jacket and tie and has the top 3 buttons of his shirt undone. You could make out the blonde hairs on his chest.....

He didn't seemed stressed, he was still smiling.

Arlo informed me that Aaron is methodical, has a good sense of colour, takes good photos and has planned the campaign on the wipe board and uploaded the photos onto the computer. Now, he has to put the campaign together as a package.

Arlo has told him about Noah's party tonight and said he's welcome to attend If he wants as long as he pays the £10 for the rose that is his admission.

Apparently when Arlo told him the dress code for tonight's party, but said he bets that most will end up probably naked, Aaron just laughted saying "well that will be a sight to see then!"

4.00pm.....

Arlo calls me into his office....

Aaron is looking a bit worried now.

Arlo asks Aaron to present his marketing campaign for the Flowery that he has been working on.

He goes through it in a methodical manner.

He defined the audience & goals, plus he focused on local marketing & offline tactics, like participating in community events, and using local advertising to connect with your immediate community.

He produced clear, measurable goals and a specific target audience, then developed a cohesive strategy with a clear message, using the Set SMART Goals of Establish Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound Goals.

It was a good presentation and I was impressed to be honest.......

I was suprised when Aaron told us he wasn't happy with the campaign and he wouldn't use it unless it was absolutely necessary.

He then went on to say.....

"A bad marketing campaign is detrimental to the company that it's supposed to be marketing and once damaged you can't undo it"

Arlo agreed.....

Aaron went on to say..... "All marketing campaigns should be pre-planned so the deadline is known well in advance. It would be stupid to start a campaign, for example the opening of a new shop, a few days before it opens"

I had to agree with him and I saw Arlo nod as well.

Harry came in again with his tea trolley, he's just being bloody nosey as he knows that Arlo has a coffee maker in his office!!

I asked Aaron to tell me about himself....

He told us he's 22 years old, lives with him mum and older sister. His mum works at the local 'express' petrol station and works one week on day shift and then one week on night shift. His sister is practically never at home now as she is engaged and spends a lot of time with her fiance.

Arlo asked him if he wanted to stay for evening meal and come to Noah's party?

Aaron smiled saying that his mum is on night shift so he would be home alone.

Aaron excused himself to go to the toilet......

Arlo told me he has spend the day with Aaron and likes his work ethics and they got on well....plus he says what he thinks is right and wrong but listens and then reacts. He asked permission to employ him on a 3 month trial period.

I went to see Leo to get him to print out a work employment contract for Aaron with a 3 month trial period included.

It took Leo no more than a couple of minutes to print out 2 of the hotels bespoke contract of employment.....

I went back into Arlo's office and handed him the contracts.....

Arlo then said.....

"Aaron, you have done well mate. Both me and Jason are impressed with how you handled the marketing campaign and what you said about it. So, if we did offer you the position of 'marketing associate' with a 3 month trial would you be interested in it?"

He then told him the salary and the perks, like free meals, free gym etc etc.

Aaron smiled and looked at both me and Arlo and replied "subject to me reading the contract of employment and haggling over the salary and perks, yes I would be!"

He then laughted adding.....

"I don't know whether you know but one of the lads from college that is helping to build the extension at your Business Centre lives across the road from me and we both grew up together? It's Adam.....and he told me all about your parties and the table tradition! And our other mate Sebastian backed up his story!"

Both me and Arlo was speechless!!!

Aaron was still laughing...."perhaps I shouldn't have told you that, have I ruined my chances of getting the job now?"

Arlo handed him both copies of the employment contract and told him....

"No your haven't ruined your chances apart from because you withheld that bit of information about Adam and Sebastian I'm not now going to negotiate the salary!"

Aaron laughted again and took the contract, quickly read it and signed both copies, asking Arlo to sign both copies as well.....

As Arlo signed the first copy Aaron smiled and said "I know Zak as well!"

We all laughted and ended up shaking hands and had a group hug.....

Aaron then said... "as I would like to stay for dinner and attend the party, is it possible that I could have a shower here? Saves me going home."

The next minute their was a knock on Arlo's office door.

Arlo looked at me and I looked at him.......

Aaron then looked at me and Arlo and added "I was present on the night that Zak hit that lad who attacked our friend. The court didn't believe what I said about what happened and the build up to it. Part 2394

Aaron looked like he was about too cry and turned away from us and wiped his eyes with his hand.

We let Zak and Aaron go and Arlo looked at me and said "he will fit in well....crafty sod though not telling us he knew people here and knew about the naked party's and the table tradition!"

Dinner was called and Zak and Aaron turned up into the dining room, looking like '2 peas in a pod!' (And before you ask Dylan has heard that saying before!!)

Zak had lent Aaron a blue tee shirt and blue shorts, and was dressed himself in a blue tee shirt and blue shorts....a matching pair!!

Tony done his normal evening speech and then welcomed and introduced Aaron to the lads......

The normal round of applause and cheers were bestowed on him.

Noah was excited about his party and Tony reassured him that the function room, music and beer was ready.

I though Noah was going to cry when Dylan told him that as a present the kitchen lads, well Harry and Liam, has prepared some snacks and sandwiches and cake for the party as well.

Good old Simon had agreed to start work at 8.00pm instead of 10.00pm so Billy and Leo could join the party and he will be another extra security man on site.

7.30pm......

The hotel lads were walking to the function room....all looked really smart....

Tony, Ian, Sam, Joe, Tom, Ryan and Darren were all in morning suits as was Leo. They all looked marvellous in their pin stripe trousers and bow ties!!!

Alex and Charlie were in jacket and ties as was James, Darren,Liam, Aj.

Harry, Luke, Sean, william, Jack, Arlo, Brandon, Josh, Aiden, Connor, Martin, Clint and Roger were in dark suits and black or coloured bow ties!!

The rest of the lads were all in suits and ties.

Billy was on reception also in a morning suit and bow tie.

The builder lads started arriving.

Some in suits, the rest in shirt and ties. They all scrubbed up well!!

Everyone of them were wearing polished shoes....no trainers or work boots.....they all were taking the dress code seriously.

Noah was on reception with his roses and was checking names that had paid and handing them a red rose for them to put on their jackets or shirts with a pin....

The 5 that hadn't paid but was on the list all paid their £10.

I noticed that when Adam and Sebastian came into the function room and saw Aaron and Zak talking, they immediately went over to them and then hug each other and then have a group hug!

It was nice to see.....

What else was nice to see were the builder lads shaking hands with the staff, including Sam, Joe, Tom, Ryan.

Aiden, the little sod practically hugged them as well.....!!!

Harry and Liam, who most of the time, prepared and served the builder lads their lunches all got hugs off them.

The party was in full swing, beers flowing nicely...the till filling up with cash!

Lads dancing, drinking, chatting and eating.

It wasn't long before the jackets and ties were off and shirt buttons undone....

I must confess it was a bit warm in the function room?

If I didn't know any better, it wouldn't suprise me if 'somebody' deliberately turned the heating up and the air conditioning down?

I went to the box containing the heating and air conditioning switches and timers etc.....

Looks like Aiden isn't the only cunning lad in the room!

One of the builder lads noticed the folded up table tennis table in the corner.....

The lads were now getting excited and obviously wanted their team to win!!

Tom was umpire for the event...don't know how he got appointed? Think he just said he was!!!

Harry marked up 6 ping pong balls 1 to 6.

The first game was between those who were numbered number 4 (obviously!)

So it was Sebastian playing for hotel and a lad called Derek for the builders.

Tom told them "my decision is final. First player to score 11 points by 2 clear points wins the game. Best of 3 games so first to win 2 games.

Jason has asked me to write about my encounter with the builder lad PRICK that insulted me about my 'disability'

Yes, I have a 'blue badge' for my car and yes I get a small amount of PIP benefit....this all arranged by the army rehabilitation centre at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall.

Thank you for messages both on here and by private DM.

I'm sorry my last piece was short and sweet, but I was getting a bit angry....

I needed a hug from my lovely partner and saviour AJ....

We went and sat on the love seat that Ian made for the newly weds married at the hotel so they could sit on for photos.

We sat and talked for about half hour and had a hug.....

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AJ.....

Anyway.......

After I think I totally humiliated that prick Brian, he had the decency to come over about 15 minutes after the game and offered an apology and shook my hand and brought me a drink.

He maintains that his remark wasn't a piss take or meant to offend. He was genuinely concerned it could be too my disadvantage playing him.

He told me that 'somebody' told him on how I lost my leg and he realised then how insensitive he was in saying what he did....

He smiled saying I have every right to think he's a prick and a bellend and he accepts that. He hoped that I would accept his apology as it was a sincere and truthful one.

He then laughted saying "I can't believe I'm sitting here naked next to another naked lad. Not only did you humiliate me on the game but your humiliating me now with your great physique and the size of your cock"!

For some reason, that made me smile and as I looked at him, and I think I'm a good judge of character, I saw in his face he was being sincere and humble.

He extended his hand to shake mine again, which I accepted and shook.

As he went to stand up to leave, I thanked him for the pint and asked if he wanted another.....

I saw the relief and a smile on his face and he sat back down again saying "thank you"

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Harry in just a pair of shorts looking at me.....

I looked fully at him and he gave me one of his loverly smiles and just nodded.......

I was now thinking..... I bet it was Harry who was the 'somebody'.

To this day I don't know whether it was Harry.....I have asked him before, and he told me he didn't know what I was talking about!!!

Harry...your a terrible liar mate!!

I've just asked him again, as I'm writing this, .........

This was his bloody reply.....

The little shit has just laughted and walked away from me!!!

I'm not going to tell you who's writing this as it's a personal message to LIAM......

It wasn't Harry or AJ for that matter, who had a word in the bellends shell like ear....

I was upset and disgusted at what he said....although reading what you wrote, yes he probably was sincere, but I still felt like taking him outside and ripping his head off his scrawny shoulders.

You don't realise how much you are part of the hotel family and how much we all LOVE YOU......

You are always here for us....you and your medical backpack if needed.

You look after us, you heal us, you advice us and God help anyone that doesn't do what you instruct!!

And yes.....you don't need help defending yourself, as your big enough and brave enough to handle pricks like him yourself....you proved that!!!

BUT.....I couldn't stand by and see you hurt, like you were..no way on earth would I stand their and do nothing.....I respect you too much not too.

I make no apologies for my actions and I'm pleased that the bellend did apologise to you in the end.

Please don't ask Jason who wrote this.....I made him swear that he wouldn't tell you or anybody.

I speak on behalf of everybody when I say that you are definitely part of our family and it is an honour to call you our 'brother'

Wow!!!

Thanks for writing Liam, you wrote from the heart and judging from the Dm's received you certainly have the support of the readers.

And to the 'anonymous' writer...your secret is safe with me!!!

Anyway....

Today we have a big wedding on...26 people attending the actual wedding and 60 for the 3 course wedding meal and dance afterwards....

Kitchen staff on full duties...Zak and John helping to serve the evening meal along with Adam and Sebastian.

And Noah with the help of Zak have prepared all the hotels and the table flower decorations.

William is now back on full time duties.......

William and Sean are sueing the fairground operator for their accident and 2 days ago they received an offer of a 'out of court settlement'

After consultation with my solicitors working on behalf on william and Sean the solicitor thought the offer of compensation was fair...

The dilemma they had was the court could offer them less or the same but might not award costs to them?

Due to a 'non disclosure agreement' we can't say anymore.....

But William and Sean are happy with the amount and accepted it....

Earlier this week, Leo, even though he agreed that William could go back to work full-time, as per the recommendation of his doctor, he doesn't want him to take an 'active, hands on' approach when running the boot fitness camp.

William wasn't happy and both Leo and William agreed that they should discuss it with Liam.....as Leo maintains that whatever the doctor says the hotel still has a 'duty of care'

Leo called a meeting and invited me and Billy to attend as well....

Now I can understand both Leo's point of view about the duty of care and also understand that the doctor knows what he is doing.....and lastly William wants to get back to normal duties.....

Liam has been looking after William, making sure he follows the consultant's and his GP's instructions, making sure he takes his painkillers etc etc.

Leo put his case forward to us and William put his.....

Both of their arguments made sense.

William said "look I'm fine, stop wrapping me up in cotton wool, I know my body!! I know when to stop!"

We all understood how William was feeling about this....

Liam then opened his folder that he brought with him and put letters and x-ray images on the table before us.

He showed us the x-rays just after the accident and the x-rays took last week....

Then he read out the letters from the consultant and the doctor....

Liam then told us.....

"Yes, I agree that the hotel has a duty of care towards William. I'm satisfied though that his latest x-rays are showing normal, his consultant has closed the case his end and pushed it back to Williams GP. The GP has now stopped his prescription pain killers and said he can come back to work....and William wants to come back to work. William is a sensible lad and certainly knows his own body and for that matter other people's bodies that are recovering from injury, that he treats in his treatment room. William has too and does take responsibility for his own body and health...I'm satisfied that William knows his limits and when they are reached he will stop. So I think its only fair that we give William the benefit of the doubt and let him resume normal full time duties."

William smiled and agreed with Liam!

Leo looked at me and then at Billy..

"I agree with Liam", said Billy.....

Leo looked at me again.....but I wasn't playing....you called the meeting Leo, you make the decision!

I didn't say a word, just looked back at Leo.

Leo listened and relented....

He agreed that William can resume normal duties.

The flowers that Noah and Zak had displayed around the hotel and on the wedding meal tables were, putting it bluntly, stunning in design.

Billy asked me if I could go and see Zak in the staff quarters....

I went up and knocked on the staff quarters door......

I heard "hello" so I went in.....

I saw Zak and Aaron sitting on the sofa in tee shirt and shorts.

Aaron asked me if we needed anymore help with the wedding reception?

Zak then added "I'm working helping serve the wedding meal and Billy said that Aaron can stay over tonight again, so it makes sense"

Zak then told me that Aaron is the same size as him so he can wear his spare staff uniform...

Zak went and got his spare uniform and to my suprise Aaron stripped in front of us to his boxers and socks!!

He has a nice physique and a nice bulge in his boxers!.....I saw Zak have a look and lick his lips!!

Aaron noticed Zak looking and laughted saying "it's bigger now than last time!"

He tried on the uniform and looked really smart in it so I agreed he could help and told the pair of them to see John who will help with what they have to do.....

As I was walking back to reception it suddenly dawned on me what Aaron actually said!.... "It's bigger now then last time?"

Last time?

I giggled to myself ..... making Billy ask if I'm ok?......

Just then, Adam and Sebastian walked into reception.....

Apparently they are helping out tonight as well?

I took Adam to one side and asked him if he knew that Zak and Aaron are also helping out tonight and Aaron is staying overnight in the staff quarters?

Adam smiled..."oh, I knew they were both working but I didn't know that Aaron was staying overnight? Mind you I bet Zak is pleased!"

I looked at Adam with a bit of a confused face.....

He smiled back..."they had a bit of a 'thing going' but when Zak got into that bit of trouble and Aaron messed up in the witness box it kind of fizzled out? Aaron was ashamed of himself and felt he let Zak down badly"

Later on Henry asked if he could go in the staff quarters as he needs to quickly test the wall they are knocking down to see if its hiding any electrical cables..? He had a gadget in his hand....?

I went with him.....

We knocked on the door and Zak answered. He only had a pair of shorts on......he looked a bit flustered?

I laughted saying "have we come at an awkward time? Shall we come back?"

He hesitated for a moment and then invited us in saying rather loudly, so the other could obviously hear, "it's Jason and Henry"

We went in and found Adam and Sebastian sitting on the sofa...they were only in shorts as well!!!

Henry waved this gadget he had over the wall saying "hope it doesn't beep or we could have a problem"

As he was waving this thing over the wall, we heard somebody singing and then a stark bollock Aaron came out of the bathroom and walked into the living room.....

He stood their.....he put his hands on his head, shouted "look at this" and started doing, what later I was told was called 'doing the helicopter' with his dick!!!!

He then saw me and Henry.....

He quickly covered himself with his hands saying...

"Oh...fuck, sorry Jason, didn't know you were here!"

He quickly went into the bedroom and came out in just a pair of shorts and a very red face!!

Adam and Sebastian started laughing which caused all of us to laugh..

Poor Aaron went redder in the face.

Sebastian then told everybody...

"That was always your party piece Aaron!! I remember when you streaked across the local football pitch doing that in the middle of the centre circle!!"

All staff now in position for the wedding....

The registrars were having a coffee with Leo and Billy as the bride groom and the guests started to arrive....

Leo and Sam were the welcome hosts and John and Henry were directing them to the the wedding suite....

The bride and groom opted for one of the hotels menu for the wedding evening meal......

Surf and Turf with Creamy Garlic Sauce. Seared steak paired with succulent shrimp, all smothered in a rich, garlicky sauce that’s creamy, flavorful, and totally indulgent.

Now this menu is the speciality of Martin's as it was him that introduced it to Dylan who thought it was so good he incorporated it into one of our menus available to the wedding parties.

Therefore Martin was the lead chef for the meal......

The wedding went off as planned, no hiccups apart from the bride being 10 minutes late, giving the groom a scare!

Ian's love seat and flower arc was again the centre of the wedding photos as was the side garden.

At one stage the guests were all laughing as Smudge decided he wanted to be in the photo!!!

The little bugger actually sat between them looking at the camera!

Ian quickly picked him up, apologised to the bride and groom and the guests.

The guests are now in the function room, the DJ called 'burnzy' had some background music playing and the 4 piece band that was playing later were all set up and ready to go.....

The hotel lads were now in full swing serving the starter, then the main course, then the dessert to the guests.

I was watching in the background and to be honest I was impressed with Zak, Adam, Sebastian and Aaron's serving skills.....

Nothing spilled, no cutlery dropped.

Jack, Tony, Roger and Peter were busy serving the champagne and drinks....

I was in the bar....

After the meal, Zak and Aaron came into the bar, looking knackered!

I brought them both a drink, just as Adam and Sebastian came into so I ended up buying them a drink as well.

Apparently them 4 are staying in the staff quarters tonight along with Noah and Dean......

Zak quickly told me that Noah and Dean are in their normal bedroom, Adam and Sebastian will be in the spare bedroom and him and Aaron will be in his bedroom.

He then asked me if that was OK with me? He said that Billy approved it, but he wants to make sure I'm alright with it, especially with Aaron sharing his room and therefore, no doubt, his bed as well!

Next morning.....

Breakfast.....

Eggs Florentine, spinach and poached eggs on soft muffins, topped with creamy hollandaise sauce.

Very nice indeed!

All the lads down at the table including Zak, Aaron, Noah, Dean, Adam and Sebastian......

They all had smiles on their face!!

Adam looked at me and then at Zak and Aaron and just smiled and shook his head......

Billy done his normal morning speech and thanked everybody for their help and assistance with the wedding yesterday...

He the said......

"Can I please have everybody's full attention now please....this is important......"

Everybody kind of shut up, sat upright and looked at Billy....

"This is everybody's last warning before I go down the official disciplinary route with written warnings. This hotel cannot, I repeat cannot, function without staff. Yesterday 15 of you worked extra hours and even though I left the overtime book on the desk, guess who filled it in? I'll tell you. None of you buggers did! Now I accept that perhaps 6 of you were not aware of this book but that still leaves 9 of you that did! I have this morning filled in your overtime and I would appreciate it is you have a look and sign it confirming it please"

Nobody said anything......

Leo then stood up...."look lads we really do appreciate your extra help without us asking for it, but wages are taken into account when we charge the customer....so technically it's not the hotel paying you so please, come on lads, just claim the bloody overtime."

Again, nobody said anything....

I knew, Leo knew and deep down Billy knew that we were banging our heads against the brick wall....

After breakfast, me and Billy was at reception to see who did actually turn up to sign the overtime book when Aaron arrived.....

He asked if it was possible if their was a spare table for 4 at the carvery, as he wants to treat his mum, his sister and her boyfriend.

Billy looked at the overtime book, handed it to him with a pen....

Aaron signed it......

Billy then told him "table for 4 at 1.45?"

Aaron smiled, thanked him and handed him his bank card.....

Billy inputted the amount on the card machine and Aaron tapped his card on the screen to make payment.

Billy gave him the receipt and Aaron walked away

Aaron got about 10 foot away, looked at the receipt before putting it in his pocket, stopped and came back to reception.....

"Sorry Billy, I think you're made a mistake? You're only charged me £1!"

Billy smiled.... "no I haven't mate. Because I think you worked more overtime than I put down as I'm not sure"

Aaron thanked him and nodded....

Aaron waiting for his family to arrive for the carvery.....

His mum, sister and her boyfriend arrive and all hug each other....

Aaron had a lovely smile on his smile.......

John, who again 'decided' he was helping the carvery team, saw them arrive and showed them to their table....he explained how our carvery works and took their drinks order.

I was in reception when Noah walked past with an armful of flowers that he had collected from the function room that held the wedding yesterday.

"Noah mate, can you do me a favour please? Any chance you could prepare a bouquet and give it to Aaron's mum who's in the carvery? And say its from Aaron please?"

Noah smiled...."sure boss, plenty of flowers that wasn't taken yesterday which I can use....give me half hour"

20 minutes later, Noah arrives back with a lovely bouquet consisting of roses, orchids, carnations, chrysanthemums, and various types of greenery.

It looked really nice and colourful and he had wrapped it in cellophane.

He was wearing his bespoke apron with the hotels name, his name and the Flowery printed on it......

He disappeared into the carvery....

5 minutes later he returned with the bouquet telling Billy that Aaron's mum will collect it when she leaves.

Harry and Liam were in charge of the carvery and doing it well....the 3 meats were cooked to perfection, the vegetables looked fresh and tasty and the gravy, well Liam makes the best heavy ever!!!

Zak, Adam, Sebastian and Dean walked past reception, said hello and then disappeared outside....obviously their going out somewhere.....

The carvery was again nearly full of diners but Harry and Liam just took it all in their stride as they normally do....

I was asked to go and see Arlo in his flat when I have time.....

No time like the present I thought so I went and knocked on his door.

I found him, Brandon, Aiden and Josh their....all dressed in the normal off duty uniform of just shorts and sliders!

Josh went to make the coffee.....

Arlo seemed a bit stressed....

He explained that his dad and Aiden's Dad are coming across the water to see them tomorrow.

Their staying for a couple of nights and their going to play golf at one of the clubs.

They want to celebrate Arlo's promotion and also Aiden's promotion.

Arlo and Aiden has booked a couple of days off work but are a bit concerned about how Aaron is going to cope and Aiden wants to make sure that Dean is OK........

I smiled... "Dean will be OK and Aaron will undergo some research into promoting the weddings and function rooms.....don't worry Arlo, I won't let him do any campaigns.

I went back to reception just as Aaron's mum, his sister and her boyfriend were leaving.

Aaron introduced his mum and that to me.....

She thanked me for giving him the job and for looking after him.....

After she had gone, Aaron asked if he could speak to me?

I asked him if it's an "office or in the bar" chat?

He said he needed a drink!!!

We went to the bar and Aaron got the drinks in and paid for the drinks they had from the carvery.

I could see that Aaron was struggling to find the words that he wanted to say to me?

It looked like he was about to cry?

Aaron had a drink of his pint and then said "I told me mum that Zak works and lives in here at the hotel. She was worried for me, especially what happened in court. I told her that Zak welcomed me with open arms and didn't blame me at all about my failings in the witness box. I told her that new evidence has emerged that proves we were right and the so called victim and his mates lied. She was pleased that he is appealing his conviction. She then sussed that I must of spent last night in his accommodation! My bloody sister then told me that they knew we were more 'than just friends'. I was shocked she said that! Me mum then told me that if I'm happy then it's fine with her as she likes Zak! I didn't know what to say? Then me sisters boyfriend admitted that he heard me and Zak in the shower together when he came back to collect his wallet that he left on the table!! Christ, I thought I was in big trouble until me mum told me that 'whether I'm gay or not, I'm still her son and she loves me'. Then, Noah couldn't have picked a better time to arrive with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me mum and told her they were from me!"

I listened, didn't interrupt until he finished what he wanted to say.

I then put my arm round his shoulders saying "I'm pleased that things are working out for you mate. So the big question is, what you want to do now? With regard to Zak?"

As I said that, Zak walked into the bar and sat down next to us....well next to Aaron.

He asked how the carvery went....?

Aaron told him that his mum, sister and Ben (his sister's boyfriend) knew they were more than just friends!

Zak looked shocked!!!

Aaron told Zak that his mum and sister was OK with it!

Zak then smiled..."does that mean we can now make love to each other, as in not just messing about?"

Aaron smiled, looked at me, said "please excuse us" then grabbed Zak by the hand and left the bar!!!

Just before evening meal, I saw Billy look at the overtime book and sigh........

"Nobody, apart from Aaron, has signed the overtime...."

Leo tutted and both looked at me...

"Ok lads, I said, I don't think we will ever win this battle so let's change tack....we won't mention overtime again, but I want you 2 to just record what overtime they do and Leo just authorise it yourself and pay it please"

Evening meal was called.....it was of course a carvery....

I noticed that Aaron and Zak were not at the dining table.....

I had a little giggle to myself...

Harry then opened the carvery and told us to "come and get it lads"

We, of course, formed an orderly queue...

I always opt to have all 3 meats, beef, gammon and pork and then help myself to the freshly steamed & roasted vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, ruffled roasties and all the trimmings, including Liam's special gravy!

Liam has never released the recipe to his gravy, I don't even think Harry knows....?

It's got an added ingredient?

All of a sudden Zak and Aaron came into the dining room.....

Zak had a full carvery, and Aaron had a very small plate of beef and a few vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding.

They came and joined me and Dylan at my table.....

I asked them in they were Ok....

Well, as I'm writing this, it's obvious that I'm still working here!

I left school and went to college studying graphic design and business studies. I got an 'A' level in both!!

I then went and done a 'marketing and design' course, combines skills from both fields, covering how to promote products or services (marketing) and create visual content (design) for those campaigns. covering areas like digital marketing strategy, user-centered design, content marketing, and graphic design.

I ended up with a CPD Certification in digital marketing and creative skills.
