Harry was impressed about what Zak said about only Aaron fucking him as thats wot a relationship is all about.

I think Harry likes Zak as they do seem to get on well... and for Harry to give up his time with me and his head massage says a lot.....

Aaron apologised for disturbing us and was going to go back home when Simon at reception told him that we won't mind him knocking on our door.

I shook Zak to wake him.....he woke with a bit of a start and couldn't believe he fell asleep!!

He then saw Aaron standing their...

The smile on his face was huge!!

It's obvious that Zak really has the "hots" for Aaron!

Aaron explained that his mum was on night shift and his sister is staying at her boyfriend, Ben's, house...

As he was here and it was getting late I asked Aaron if he wanted to stay the night here with Zak....

Aaron didn't want to intrude and said he forget about the building work.....

Luke went and made more cappuccinos and saw the cake on the worktop, so he brought that with him as well as the drinks.

We all sat drinking and eating the coconut cake!!

Luke and Harry said goodnight and went back too their own flat.

That left me, Dylan, Zak and Aaron.

Aaron kept apologising saying he genuinely forgot that Zak wasn't in the staff quarters.

Next morning......

Me and Dylan up and showered and I'm on my first cappuccino of the day when the sleepy heads, Zak and Aaron get up and come into the living room. Both in just shorts....

Zak opened his mouth..."Can I......"

I immediately stopped him by raising my hand and saying "shoosh!"

He realised he was going to ask permission for something!!

He then turned to Aaron and told him he's going to shower first....

Dylan made Aaron a coffee.

I made a comment to him about it 'must be love'

Aaron smiled......"it's just so nice that he's forgiven me for my terrible performance in court. And that our 'messing about' can now turn serious?. And, in answer to your question, christ yes I love him."

As he finished that sentence, Zak came out of the with a towel wrapped around him......

He saw the 3 of us looking at him..

"Wot?" He said......

Aaron smiled...."I was just telling them that I love you Zak"

With that Zak accidentally let go off the towel.....

Morning.....

ZAK here....

God that was so embarrassing!!

Instead of tucking the towel in like I normally do after a shower, for some strange reason I just held it wrapped around my waist....

When I got to the living room, on my way to the bedroom, I noticed Aaron, Jason and Dylan staring at me!!!

And then Aaron told me he was just telling them that he "loved me"....

My mouth opened....

My hand automatically went to cover my mouth, hence the reason the towel dropping!

Shit!!!!

I was now standing stark, butt bollock naked not only in front of Aaron but my Boss as well......

Fuck!!

I quickly streaked to my bedroom and closed the door.

I heard laughter outside....

Shit, how embarrassing.....

Next Aaron came into the bedroom telling me his going for his shower now....and Dylan's making me a coffee.....

I got dressed in my work gear and went into the living room to see my coffee on the table.....

I couldn't look at them out of sheer embarrassed so just said "thanks"

Billy came into reception and handed me a note asking me to phone Zaks tutor.

I went into my office and dialled the number on the note.

I was suprised that is was answered by Zaks tutor. Obviously I know him as he was on site at the Business Centre looking after the builder lads.

He told me that Zak has actually finished the course, and he told me Confidentially, that he has passed his qualifications, which will be made public to him next week.

So, putting it in a nutshell, the tutor knows of the work John and Henry are doing and asked if Zak would be of any help?

The tutor admitted that their is nothing for the students to do now at college.

I agreed that John and Henry could do with a hand and it was also agreed that as of now Zak has finished at the college but must come in next Thursday to collect his results etc.

I went back to the dining hall and asked to have a quick word with John, Henry and Noah.

I told them what Zaks tutor told me, apart from the part that Zak has passed his tests and Henry was thrilled that he can join the team as of today as they could really do with his skills. And Noah was also happy as he has a massive order of 114 bouquets that need preparing for next week...

I told them to work out what Zak does for them between them. Share him accordingly subject to who needs him more.....

I then got Zak to join us.....

I explained the situation and asked if he wanted to become full time as of now!!???

The smile on his face just got bigger and bigger......

I told him I will get Leo to get his contract of employment ready for signing.....

He asked to wait until next Thursday as thats when he gets his results.

His tutor told me in confidence that he has passed all his qualifications but I didn't want to betray his trust so I decided not to tell him!

I thought quickly on my feet, and told him that for insurance and personal liability reasons he has to be a actual member of staff.

Henry looked at me with a 'confused' look on his face? He knew I made that up!!!!

Zak quried the fact that until he knows whether he is 'qualified' or not, he might have to re-take one our more of his tests and that would be unfair on the hotel.....

Bugger!! I didn't think of that!!

Didn't expect Zak to say that!!

I smiled and asked him "how well did you do in your exams then"?

"Ok, he replied, I finished all the practical and theory and oral tests and didn't really have any problems and Mr Stone, the tutor told me I done well"

"Good enough for me Zak and with John and Henry guiding you I don't think you have anything to worry about"

John then told him.....

"Zak, I've seen your work....its more than ok! I've seen your bricklaying, your plastering and your carpentry and your electrical work. You have nothing to worry about....."

Henry was standing behind Zak and he 'mouthed' at me "he passed didn't he?"

I just nodded......

I told Zak that I'm prepared to offer him a contract today, and if he needs to re-sit any exams, at least he will still be paid a wage.

Zaks smile was beaming......

He shook my hand and then shook hands with John, Henry and Noah.

We all went back to the dining room.

I told all the others....."Zak is now a full time member of staff, working on the maintenance team and helping out in the Flowery"

Everybody cheered saying "well done" "great news" and the like....and they all moved towards him and either shook his hand or patted him on the back/head....

Aaron in front of everybody, kissed him fully on the lips!!!

More cheers and good old Harry told them "to get a room!"

John came and asked to speak to me..

He then asked if he could temporarily employ Adam and Sebastian to help with the staff quarters extension.

He then told me that they would finish it quicker so they could start the 2 other projects that Leo wants them to do...

2 other projects?

I know better than to ask, so I didn't!!

Within 45 minutes, both Adam and Sebastian turned up....

John had phoned the college direct and spoke to their tutor who thought it was a good idea.

I heard them, John and Leo agree a "day rate" for them and they started straight away.

I then diplomatically told Leo that having them 2 on board means the staff quarters extension will be done quicker, meaning the other projects can start quicker as well.

Leo then said "yes, that means that the........."

He then stopped talking, smiled at me and said "yea thats right"

Bugger!! I thought he was going to slip up their and tell me!!

I could just tell him to tell me, but I respect him to much to do that.

As much as I love him, I hate him at times as well!

Our monthly Directors meeting...

This is Arlos first attendance as a full Director of the hotel.

We met in the office and sat around the conference table.

I saw a huge smile appear on Arlo's face when Leo handed him a folder, embossed on the front with the name and logo of the hotel and the words "Arlo, Director of Marketing."

Leo started the meeting by telling everybody, but mainly for the benefit of Arlo, that everything in the folder and what is discussed is between us and us only. It is not allowed to leave to room or be repeated to anybody else.

I saw Arlo sit a bit more upright in his chair.

Dylan made us all a hot drink and we opened the folders.

Item number 1 was that unfortunately we have 3 members of staff who are not performing to the standard that we require. Obviously I'm not going to name them.

Ian suggested that their respective heads of department are informed and are asked to mentor them more carefully. (I'm pleased to say that as of today 2 of the 3 are still with us and has come up to the required standard)

Item 2 was the breakdown of future events at the hotel and who is doing what and when.

Item 3 was the past months events and how they went and the profit generated from each

Item 4 was the financial position of the hotel. A full breakdown including a Profit/Loss account and anticipated income and expenditure for the next month. It also showed the amount of cash we have in the various accounts. Arlo was shocked at how well the hotel was doing financially.

Knock on the door and Harry arrives with his tea trolley.......

It was the best hotel China cups and saucers, not our normal mugs(!) he used to make us our hot drinks. And 2 plates of biscuits.

Harry always does this for our Directors meetings.

We then had a 'round Robin' discussion where anybody could say what they like.

Tony was interested in what Marketing Campaigns Arlo had planned, now he had Aaron helping him.

It was nice to see, as Tony obviously done it to make Arlo talk and feel part of the team.

Arlo spoke with confidence, which was good to see and hear.

Towards the end of the Directors meeting Tony made a comment about Harry.....

He thinks that Harry is working too hard and too long hours.

"He was helping with breakfast this morning, his done his tea trolley run, he has to prepare his afternoon teas and then run it. And he has 6 cakes to make. And the last 3 weeks he has worked without taking a day off...thats 21 days straight. He even helped with the sunday carveries as well"

I thought about it and realised how true that was.... I looked at Dylan.

Dylan coughed and looked around the table....

"This is Harry we are talking about. He needs to work, he wants to work and sometimes he turns up to work when his not on the rota. Yes perhaps I have not monitored it 100% and I have had a word with him but all I get back is 'I was bored' or 'the lads need feeding' or 'it's my job' or the classic 'many hands make light work'. He like a bloody tornado"

I looked at Leo.....

He looked back...."oh no Jason your not putting that on me....I'm not telling him to slow down or stop, you know what he's like!"

I looked at Dylan, after all he is his head of department, but I knew that Dylan would struggle a bit with him....

I'll be honest....Harry has all of us wrapped round his little finger!!

He is such a lovely lad, he really cares about all of us at the hotel and has a heart made out of gold.

BUT.....

I knew that Tony was right and somehow I've got to get him to slow down....

Harry is not going to like that and he will make his feelings really clear on it!!

I told the others that "I'm too close to Harry lads, you all know it, for fucks sake he has no bones about telling people I'm his dad and look what we went through when he was dying.....I think its best that one of you tell him"

No one volunteered!!!

It was Leo that put his hand on my shoulder and told me to get my body protectors and helmet on as I tell him!!!

I'm not looking forward to this at all!!!

Lunchtime.....

Harry preparing the meal!!!

John, Henry, Zak, Adam and Sebastian come down, a bit dirty and dusty so asked Sean if they could have theirs as a takeaway. Sean wasn't happy about that as it was a 'hotpot' but managed to put the hotpot in separate bowls and covered them with foil. He then told them that from tomorrow he "wants them sitting at the table eating....."

Sean's a bit funny like that....he believes that food should be enjoyed, sitting at a table so you can digestive and taste it properly. And definitely not from takeaway box's with the food resting on your knees!!

I know that sounds a bit funny and a bit 'straight laced' but I can understand his point.... a bit of respect for the chef?

Afternoon.....

Harry and Liam in the Orangery doing the afternoon tea's!!

Harry not involved with evening meal....but then I found out his was baking his cakes!

He sat with the other eating his meal and then he went back to his cake making!!!

He must have started work at 05.00am this morning and still working at 7.00pm!!!

I can understand why Tony was concerned about him....

In fact I could feel Tony's eyes bearing deep into the back of my head!

Luke was working the late shift at the boot fitness camp, so Harry will be up for his head massage as normal

So.....at 8.00pm Harry arrives at my flat.

His dressed as normal, shorts, sliders and tee shirt, which he took off as he laid down......

I started telling him, as I was massaging his head and shoulders, that he is working long hours and has to cut down on his duties.

At this precise moment Dylan decided he needs a shower!! Thanks pal!!

Harry told me that "it's ok, I'm fine"

I told him that it wasn't a request I'm being serious about it!

He sat upright and stared at me...

Fuck...if looks could kill I wouldn't be 6 foot under, I would be 10 foot under!!

"I'm not giving up my cakes or the Orangery afternoon teas. No way"

I then saw his leg tapping up and down on the floor.....

He was now standing up and hopping from foot to foot.....

I let him have his rant until he was finished....let him get it out of his system......

We then just looked at each other for what seemed like ages but was only probably for a minute.

I saw the tears start forming in his eyes and saw his hand wipe them away.

The next minute he was in my arms having a hug......

"Please Dad, I need to work...the lads need looking after and feeding. I've got to keep my brain busy and functioning. I only do what I know I can do and feel happy about doing it"

We hugged tighter.....

I knew I had to be tuff on him, I couldn't let this continue......

"I'm sorry Harry, you know I love you too the moon and back, but your working way too many hours... so here's what's going to happen. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday your working hours will be 09.00-4.00pm. That allows you to do your cakes and tea trolley and then your Orangery afternoon teas. Then Thursday will be 09.00-6.00pm. Friday will be 05.00-09.00am. Saturday will be your day off. Sunday will be 09.00-5.00pm. That's 42 hours a week"

I was so fucking annoyed with me Dad.

I've never worked on a fixed rota!!

I've always worked when I'm needed or required...... sod the hours, the lads and guests and diners need feeding, full stop!

He has no idea how a kitchen runs!!

Most chef's work split shifts, and weekends. Most work about 50-60 hours if the truth is known?

I was so annoyed with Jason!!

Yes, when we are partying, I will have 3 or 4 pints but thats it. I don't like getting pissed as I don't like the after effects especially the 'morning after' one's.

Anyway.......I was so annoyed and worked up, I was ordering drink after drink with wot I now know are called 'whiskey chasers'?

Roger refused to serve me anymore as I was becoming a bit loud and leary.

I was on the way to being totally pissed.....

Anyway I demanded Roger serve me another pint and whiskey!!

When he refused I called him every name under the sun.....

Liam pulled me up, verbally, and went to grab my arm.....

I punched him!!!

Yes, I punched him on the arm, my lovely Liam. Fuck! I'm pissed!

John saw me punch Liam and before I knew it, he used his martial arts judo on me and don't ask me how, but all I can remember is being pinned, face down on the floor!!!

I went off on one....a BIG one!

I called him and everybody else every name under the sun, told him to "fuck off you cunt and let me go"

Told them all that Jason was a "fucking bastard" and he "can stick his hotel up his fucking arse"

The next minute.... I remember John and Tony picking me up by my arms and found Jason and Dylan standing in front of me........

I then said the totally unthinkable!

Harry here.....

As soon as I said it, I heard an almighty shout of "HARRY!"

We all looked at who shouted it....

It was Luke, my lovely Luke...

His hands were on his hips, he face looked liked thunder and the sweat he had from the bootcamp looked like steam was coming from his ears!

He wasn't happy....

"You fucking d*unk, gobbie, piece of shit"

He then literally marched me out, apologising to Jason on the way....

I remember he managed to get me back to our flat....

The next thing I remember is sitting in the shower still in my tee shirt and shorts being soaked by the shower head....

I remember trying to get out a couple of times only to be pushed back in by Luke.....

It seemed like ages and Luke told me I was in the shower for about 40 minutes before he dragged me out, stripped me naked and dried me before putting me to bed......

I woke up the next morning with a terrible headache and had to rush to the toilet to heave my guts up.

I felt terrible from head to toe....

Luke came in the bathroom to make sure I was ok and told me to have a shower. He hung up my dressing gown for me.

I showered, got into my dressing gown and went into the living room where Luke gave me a black coffee telling me to drink it...

I looked at the wall clock...

FUCK!! it was now 08.45am....

Luke told me what I said to Jason, in front of everybody in the bar, and that I punched Liam.....

I then cried my eyes out, and I mean sobbed......
