I was in late twenties had taken a job in a town about 50 miles from where I lived so was renting a flat in a converted Victorian rectory. After I’d been there a couple of months I started looking for something to do in an evening other than watch telly or go down the pub. One night I’d been swimming at the local leisure centre and was looking at the notice board when I saw a card advertising a drama group looking for new members. I had enjoyed drama when I was at school and took part in several school plays and I continued this whilst at university. I noted the contact number down and when I got back to the flat I gave it a call. I was about to hang up when I guy answered the phone we had a chat and he suggested that I pop along on Wednesday night at 7 to meet the group as they were just starting to read through the play they intended to put on in a couple of months time.

So on Wednesday night I found them in a large meeting room on the upper floor of the leisure centre. I got introduced to the members of the group and the guy who was going to direct the play. We chatted about what experience I had and he thought I could fill one of the smaller parts, he gave me a copy of the play and we started reading through the dialogue. After a couple of hours things were winding down they explained that they usually go to the pub down the road to socialise afterwards . It was suggested that before I left they would throw me the hall and stage they used for performances.

Three of the group took me down to the hall for a mature set up it was quite good. There was a large stage with access to dressing rooms in the basement. There was collapse away seating for about 3-400 persons; when folded onto the rear wall the hall was used for badminton and basketball.

After my quick tour I went to the pub where I got the usual interrogation about what I did, where I was educated and did I have a girlfriend etc.

Things were going great with the group learning my words and done costumes fitting. Going to the pub after each practice evening meant I was starting to make friends in the area.

We got past the read through and we were having our first dress rehearsal. I arrived early and went to the dressing room; there were already 3-4 guys in there stripped to their underwear. I found my costume and a corner to hide in; it had been years since I’d undressed in front of other guys barring whipping my boxers off and trunks on. There I was wearing my usual boring lose boxers two of the others were wearing tight briefs and another had a tight thong backed pouch on. He couldn’t have had much pubic hair as with the bulge filling the pouch and no hair showing round them it would have been impossible. I changed into costume as quick as I could sneaking the odd look at the guys; don’t know why I did as I’d never had any sexual interest in guys before.

We went down the hall and did a couple of run throughs of two scenes. Then back to the changing rooms where I reversed the procedure. Kevin, the guy in the pouch, seemed to be more turned towards me and the bulge in his pouch appeared bigger than before. Then we headed down to the pub where we discussed how the rehearsal had gone and forming a working party to paint the scenery trucks ready for the performances in six weeks. Things started to wind down and a few folks left. I finished my pint said bye and headed out the door Kevin was leaving at the same time as me he asked if I wanted a lift. I pointed out I only lived a mile away and could easily walk it in half hour. He said don’t be daft it’s nearly on his route home so I accepted. 5 minutes later he pulled up outside my place. Before I could open the door he asked “ Did you like what you saw”? I was flustered and muttered what do you mean.

“I saw you looking at my porch a few times as we were changing, but due to your lose boxers I couldn’t tell if you liked what you saw”.

I said I hadn’t looked and was sorry if he thought I had.

Kevin responded “It’s not a problem I’m flattered if you did as I’m about 20 years older. But your boxers are boring we need to do something about them”.

He said look forward to seeing you at next rehearsal I smiled as I got out of the car and head into my place.

At the end of the next rehearsal as we were changing back before going to the pub Kevin made certain I was getting a good view of his bulging pouch. When we got to the pub there was a discussion about who could help with scenery building etc Kevin kindle offered for me and him to start stripping down the scenery trucks on Saturday morning; which was greatly appreciated as no one else was free on Saturday morning and it would have it all ready for the new panels to be fitted when the painting was completed.

Kevin dropped me off home and said once we’d finished on Saturday morning we would grab a spot of lunch and go shopping.
