I was in late twenties had taken a job in a town about 50 miles from where I lived so was renting a flat in a converted Victorian rectory. We chatted about what experience I had and he thought I could fill one of the smaller parts, he gave me a copy of the play and we started reading through the dialogue. After a couple of hours things were winding down they explained that they usually go to the pub down the road to socialise afterwards . It was suggested that before I left they would throw me the hall and stage they used for performances.

Three of the group took me down to the hall for a mature set up it was quite good. There was a large stage with access to dressing rooms in the basement. There was collapse away seating for about 3-400 persons; when folded onto the rear wall the hall was used for badminton and basketball.

After my quick tour I went to the pub where I got the usual interrogation about what I did, where I was educated and did I have a girlfriend etc.

Things were going great with the group learning my words and done costumes fitting. Going to the pub after each practice evening meant I was starting to make friends in the area.

I pointed out I only lived a mile away and could easily walk it in half hour. He said don’t be daft it’s nearly on his route home so I accepted. 5 minutes later he pulled up outside my place. “I saw you looking at my porch a few times as we were changing, but due to your lose boxers I couldn’t tell if you liked what you saw”.

I said I hadn’t looked and was sorry if he thought I had.

Kevin responded “It’s not a problem I’m flattered if you did as I’m about 20 years older. But your boxers are boring we need to do something about them”.

At the end of the next rehearsal as we were changing back before going to the pub Kevin made certain I was getting a good view of his bulging pouch.
