I was intrigued why Lewis answered on behalf of Nathan.....

I was now worried about Nathan....

I went to the gym to speak to Lewis and once again, he was in the showers before he hit the gym....

I saw him as he was just coming out of the shower.....

I apologised saying I forgot he showers first and I will catch him later......

He laughted......

"It's ok, you're seen me naked a few times now and I'm ok with it, I'm not shy!"

I then sat down on the bench and asked him if I could ask him a personal question about Nathan? I also told him he doesn't have too answer, but I'm a bit worried about what he said.......

He started drying himself and put on his gym shorts and sat down....

He looked at me whilst drying his legs.....

"When I asked if Nathan was ok and is he having trouble with his Dad, you answered for him saying "could say that?.....can I ask what you meant by that?"

Lewis didn't answer at first, but I could tell he was thinking what he should say to me?

"His Dad is a bastard...he is homophobic and thinks Nathan should see a counsellor to, as he says, 'cure him'....he has banned me from the house as he thinks I'm the reason him being 'bent'....he has also contacted my parents saying what a "disgrace" I am too them. My stepdad told him his fortune saying if he ever slags me off again he will punch his fucking lights out!

Me stepdad and mum have accepted me being gay and they like Nathan.

Don't tell Nathan that I told you please but he has bruises on his arm where his dad grabbed him"

I was a bit shocked.....

Lewis went for his work out and I went to my flat.....

I was deeply concerned about Nathan now....

Ok, he's a prankster, he needs to grow up mentally a bit, but he's only 20 and always smiling and works hard and he's honest....he could have just kept quiet about the Flowery fire and when he upset Harry he was so upset he offered to resign as he did with the fire.

Even though we don't really know who left the desk lamp on, Nathan knew he was PROBABLY the last to use it?

My heart rate was racing and my blood pressure was going through the roof.....I just couldn't rest until I knew what was happening with his dad and whether he was physically bullying Nathan?

Then I realised that Nathan has been wearing a long sleeved shirt most of the week, covering his arms?

I phoned down to reception and asked Billy to phone the Flowery and ask Nathan to come to my flat.

Within 10 minutes their was a knock at my door....

After being invited in and being asked to sit down, Nathan asked if everything was ok and was he in trouble again?

I asked him if he was ok and whether he feels confident enough to tell me if anything was wrong....

He looked at his feet...he couldn't look me in the eyes.....

Yes, in hindsight, I was probably wrong, but I asked him to roll up his sleeves.....

He now looked at me and I saw the tears appear in his eyes.

He eventually rolled up his sleeves and I could definitely see some bruises on his arms....

I was now more concerned and asked him to take his shirt off...

His eyes were 'pleading' with me not to make him do it, but I asked again anyway.

He removed his apron, unbuttoned his shirt and took it off.....

I clearly saw the 'handprints' on his upper arms, like somebody had grabbed them.

I asked him to turn around....he did, and I saw more bruises on his back.

Nathan didn't say anything....

I told him to put his shirt back on.

I knew what I had to offer to protect him.....

Nathan asked how I knew about the bruises and if Lewis said anything to me?

I told him that Lewis loves him to bits and was worried about him, but didn't really tell me the whole truth, he hinted only.

Nathan smiled when I told him that Lewis loves him.

I then phoned Billy and asked if he could go to the gym and get Lewis to come up.

Within minutes I heard running in the corridor outside and then a treble knock (!) On the door....

It was Lewis, still in his gym gear, carrying his backpack, sweating buckets!!!

He saw Nathan sitting on the sofa, still shirtless and realised what was happening.....

He apologised to Nathan for telling me and told him he was just so worried about him....

He went to hug Nathan, which he accepted, but told him that he 'stinks'!!!

He looked at me and said he needs a shower amd will go and have one now.

I told him to shower here if he wanted.....

He stripped bollock naked in front of both me and Nathan and walked to my shower room....he certainly isn't shy!!

He returned 10 minutes later with a towel wrapped round him and started drying himself in the middle of my living room when talking to us about how much of a bastard Nathan's dad really is.....

He eventually managed to get dressed in jeans, socks, trainers and tee shirt.

I made us all a cappuccino and asked them want are they going to do about this situation?

Nathan asked if I was serious when I mentioned about the staff quarters?

I smiled...."their is one bedroom free at the moment in the new extension and if you want to live in full time then it's yours..."

Nathan burst into tears.....

Lewis comforted Nathan by sitting next to him and put his arm round his shoulders.....

You could physically see the weight lifted off Nathan's shoulders.

I asked him when he wants to move in?

He asked if he could move in today?

I asked if their will be any trouble with his dad?

Nathan told me that his dad told him last week to "fuck off and live at the hotel so I don't have to see you again"

He then told me that his dad doesn't work due to him allegedly having a bad back.

I got on the radio and asked for Tony and John to come to the flat

They arrived and I explained that Nathan is moving into the staff quarters and would they help him move his stuff from his house in the van?

Both of course agreed to help and it was agreed that they will leave in an hour.

I then asked Nathan to phone his dad and tell him so it's not a shock for him.....

He nervously dialed his dad's number........

NATHAN writing a bit now.....

When Jason asked me to take my shirt off, I knew that somehow he knew about my bruises....

I felt embarrassed and ashamed of myself for allowing me dad to do that to me without fighting back.

It was Lewis's parents that told me being gay or bisexual isn't a crime at my age and "I'm who I am, I can't change that, so just be myself and be proud of myself"

Why can't me own dad be that supportive?

Anyway,......

Jason offered me a room in the staff quarters and I jumped at the chance and accepted it immediately.

Jason wanted me to phone me dad and tell him before I turned up with Tony and John to collect my stuff.

I nervously phoned him......

I was hoping he wouldn't answer the phone but he did......

I decided to tell him outright and bluntly.....

He didn't say anything at first, for the first time ever he actually listened to me......

He then told me he loves me, but just can't accept the fact that I fancy men and not women and I'm gay.

He apologised for 'laying his hands on me' the other day and realises he was out of order.

He said he was so worked up with the pain in his back, not being able to work and me being gay, was just enough to push him over the edge for that minute.

I always thought he was using an imaginary 'bad' back not to work and claim benefits.......but was I wrong here...does he actually have a real bad and painful back?

He then asked to speak to the "boss" of the hotel......

I told him that's Jason and I'll get him......

Jason's home phone that I was speaking on was on 'speaker phone' so he heard everything that me and my dad said.

Jason muted the call and told me to tell me Dad that he will put him through to me.....

I un-muted the phone and told me dad.

Jason muted the phone, waited for about, well it seemed like ages, about 10 seconds before he un-muted the phone and said "hello Jason speaking"

I un-muted the phone and introduced myself to Nathan's dad.....

He asked if it was ok for Nathan to move into the staff quarters and when I told him it was, he thanked me for giving Nathan a job and for allowing him to move in.....

He then asked if Lewis was moving in with him?

My reply was simple.....

"Lewis? I'm sorry but we don't have any member of staff here called Lewis?"

Nathan's dad was very 'coy' and diplomatic.....and it was obvious he thought that I didn't know about Nathan being gay.....

He went on to tell me that he thought Nathan's 'friend' would want to move in with him as they are the "best of friends and always together and he always gives Nathan a lift to work etc"

Again I gave him a simple reply..."ok thats nice of Lewis but nothing has been said about this Lewis moving in and when my general manager told me he has approved Nathan moving into the staff quarters he didn't mention nobody else. After all the accommodate is for staff who we find would benefit by living in due to their shift patterns, early mornings and late evenings etc"

He thanked me again and asked if it was possible to speak to his son again.....

I put the phone on mute for about 5 seconds and then un-muted for Nathan to speak...

His dad told him he loved him but just can't accept that he's gay. But he did ask that he keeps in contact and visits him when he can.

I saw Nathan's eyes welling up again.

Nathan told his dad that him and 2 work colleagues will collect his stuff later on in about an hour and a half.

Lewis called me a crafty, diplomatic sod!

Nathan said I had a way of telling people stuff in a roundabout way!

I told them that I didn't tell any untruths.....Lewis is not a member of staff here!

Nathan has been offered a room in the staff quarters and if Nathan wants to have a 'visitor' to stay over night, then that is his choice!

They both smiled at me and Lewis repeated that I'm still a crafty sod and then asked me if I would allow him to stay overnight with Nathan in the staff quarters!!!???

I smiled and laughted and told Nathan to go and find Tony and John and arrange to go and get his stuff.

They both left smiling.....

I went back down stairs and Billy asked me to go to the kitchens and see Pat......

What now????

I headed to the kitchen just as Pat was coming out......

He had a huge smile on his face...

He gave me a hug and told me that his mum is now conscious and awake as the consultant has woken her up from the induced coma.

He said that Tony is running him to the hospital to see her now.....

About time he had some good news...

I went to the gym to see Tom about a nice massage as my back was playing up a bit, it was a bit stiff and sore.....

I was told Tom was in the gym so I went in their to see him....

He was working out with Ethan and Tyler.....

All 3 of them were shirtless and sweating like pigs!!!

The sweat was actually pouring off them.......

Talk about an intense workout...it looked like bloody torture!!

Hello

JOHN here now.....

Thought I would add my 2 pennies worth!!

Nathan asked me and Tony if we were ready to go to his place to pick his stuff up....

On the way he explained what his dad is like being homophobic etc..

B4 Nathan asked us to go me and Tony had a chat and it was obvious why our beloved leader Jason asked us to do it!!

And with Nathan explaining about his dad on the way reinforced are thoughts that Nathan's dad could be a bit, how shall I say it?, a bit "anti" with Nathan leaving?

I can look after myself quite well and I know Tony can throw sum good punches as well!!!

Anyway we got their and met Nathan's dad.....

We managed to clear Nathan's bedroom and his personal effects within about 15 minutes...

His dad gave him a hug and told him to keep in contact and visit whenever he wanted too......

His dad asked if he could speak to Nathan in private for a couple of minutes.....

His dad looked relatively calm, sober and genuine looked a bit sad.

I looked at Tony and he looked back at me and nodded.

We told Nathan we will meet him in the van....

About 5 minutes later Nathan came out and got in the van saying "let's go home please"

So, the hotel is now 'home' for Nathan even though he is just moving in!!??

We got to the hotel and helped Nathan take his worldly possessions into his new 'home'

Lewis was already their sitting on the sofa in his gym kit and gave Nathan a big hug as he went in...

Lewis had already made the double bed up in the bedroom with new sheets and pillow cases etc.....

He helped move the stuff in and me and Tony gave the pair of them a hug and left the staff quarters....

Thanks John, about time you wrote a bit !!!

Tom asked if I was ok and when I said my upper back and shoulders was a bit sore and stiff he suggested that he gives me a nice massage...

Just what I needed, but didn't need to ask for!

Ethan, Tyler, Tom and me headed for the changing rooms.

Tom told me to have a shower first.

So me, Tom, Ethan and Tyler ended up in the showers.

After the shower me and Tom, headed to his treatment room in our boxers.

Tom used 'hemp massage gel' on my shoulders and back.....it was so soothing and relaxing....

And Tom has a nice massage technique.

I felt so much better after Tom's massage and the stiffness had gone.

Evening meal..

Made by Merv and Liam tonight.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole....

Looked good and bloody tasted good as well....

Lucky they made extra, as it's a good sign when the lads ask 'for more'.........

After dinner I went to the staff quarters to see how Nathan was settling in

Nathan had settled in fine as he, Lewis, Pat, Merv, Ethan and Tyler were all just in shorts and sliders!

Nathan and Lewis had rearranged his new bedroom with framed photos on the wall, his wardrobe full of his clothes, his guitar in the corner and a nice framed picture of him and Lewis on the bedside cabinet....

I noticed the guitar.....

Lewis told me that Nathan plays and sings!!!!

Nathan of course responded by saying that he's not very good.....for Lewis to respond that, that's not true as he does a great Ed Sheeran version of his hit "Sing"

Lewis was being serious, he meant it that Nathan could actually sing and play the guitar!!

Pat, Merv, Ethan and Tyler heard what Lewis said and all asked Nathan to play and sing!

Nathan was embarrassed.....

Ethan told him "their is nothing to be embarrassed about mate! For gods sake we have seen each other bloody naked before!"

Tyler then added...."come on Nat give us a tune.....tell you wot, we will all get naked to make you feel less embarrassed!"

Before I knew it the buggers all stripped out of their shorts and stood their naked!!!

Even bloody Lewis stripped off!!

Nathan took his guitar and started playing and singing Ed Sheerans song 'sing'.......

I will be honest here.....Nathan can definitely sing!! And play the guitar to a very good standard....

The lads were deadly quiet when he was singing and was amazed at the standard......

When he was just about finished, Noah, Dean, Zak and Aaron came in and heard Nathan singing and playing and the others stark bollock naked listening!

Tyler told them that to listen they have to be naked.......

With seconds the 4 of them stripped!

Jesus wept.......

Say the word 'strip' and the lads just strip without question.....

They just don't care who sees them naked anymore!!

They feel so comfortable in the surroundings of the hotel and with each other!

So we now had 9 stark bollock naked lads doing what I call the dance you see at 'raves'?

You know where they have 1 arm in the air dancing on the spot and turning around and around?

What a bunch of bloody idiots!!

Sorry lads but thats how I felt seeing that, what you lot called dancing?

But yes, Nathan is a talented singer and guitar player and I must confess, at the risk of being belittled by the lads present(!) My foot was tapping away!

Nathan finished singing the song and was hugged and congratulated by the lads.

None of them seemed to care, especially Nathan that they were naked?

The next minute Aj came rushing in the staff quarters......

He was crying and said "it's Liam"

I rushed to his flat, followed by 6 naked lads, and saw Liam on the floor barely conscious......

I just knew this wasn't a PTSD episode and something was wrong?

He was mumbling nonsense and all I heard was "leg"........

I took his stump and the bandage off and saw the end of his stump was black......

I immediately phoned the NHS on 111 and got through to an operator.

I described what I was seeing and I will never forget what the operator told me......

"Black skin on an amputation stump is a critical warning sign that the tissue is dying which is called necrosis. With him being barely conscious it could be sepsis. What's your address please and I will organise an ambulance. I told them the hotels name and I can take him myself to the A&E, too be told that an ambulance is on route now and is 7 minutes away....."

I felt ill and had to sit down.

The lads rushed back to the staff quarters to get dressed.

I telephoned reception, Billy was still on duty, and told him that he is too show the paramedics and ambulance to Liam's flat.

Merv rushed back in a pair of shorts and held Liam in his arms....

Trust Harry to be in reception, and of course, he wanted to know what was happening when he heard the words "paramedic and ambulance"!

When Harry asks you a question and gives you one of 'his looks' you answer......

Now we had Harry rushing into Liam's flat, saw Merv holding Liam in his arms, thought he was dead and burst into tears.....

We then heard Liam say "oh shut the fuck up Harry".....!!!!!!

Harry sat next to him and held his hand...

Billy then arrived with a paramedic who was dressed like he came on a motorbike!!!

He did, in fact, arrive on a motorbike.......

3 minutes later, another 2 paramedics arrived carrying various pieces of medical equipment.

Liam was wired up to a heart machine, blood pressure machine and defibrillator pads attached to his chest....

One of the medics looked at me and said "just in case that's all"

Liam was in a bad way by the looks of it......and I didn't help the situation by grabbing Harry, giving him a huge hug and bursting into tears myself........

I felt sick.....

Aj here........

Why didn't I notice something was wrong with Liam?

Why didn't I notice his stump was infected?

Why didn't Liam tell me?

I was upset......

I was bloody angry with him.

BUT....this is Liam...he cares about others too much and hates it when I get upset.

I love him so much and seeing him lay their with all the machines attached to him especially the defibrillator pads on his chest, broke my heart.

I thought I was going to lose him, I thought he was going to die.

And when sepsis was mentioned and the paramedic said the defibrillator pads were "just in case" I felt very faint and started to wobble... it was Tyler that noticed and held me up before he manoeuvred me to a chair.

Another ambulance man arrived with a wheelchair and they put Liam in it.

They asked if anybody is coming with him....I stuck my hand up like a schoolboy saying "me please, I want to go with him"

Liam was gradually 'losing it' and was still telling Harry to 'shut the fuck up' even though Harry had now stopped crying and talking and Liam couldn't actually see him.

The paramedic now was administering Oxygen, and inserted a cannula into his arm and gave him a intravenous fluid to prevent dehydration.

They were very professional, but I overheard one of the medics tell Jason that "time is now of the essence"

The other lads were all saying they will go to the hospital as well, but Jason told them nobody is going apart from Aj......

I followed the medics and Liam into the ambulance....

I sat in the back of the ambulance with Liam and held his hand throughout the journey...

I knew the medics were worried as we sped to the hospital with its lights and sirens on.

In fact the siren sounded all the way and we were travelling at high speed all the way...

When we got to the hospital their were 2 nurses, a doctor and a porter waiting outside the main doors for us.

They quickly wheeled him inside and took him into a side room..

One of the nurses took me to reception to register Liam in.

She then took me to another room and sat me down telling me that Liam is in the best place now and they will look after him.

She offered me a hot drink and told me not too worry and she will keep me informed.

I felt so lonely when she left the room....

Aj here still.......

I felt so lonely...

I felt vulnerable...

I felt scared...

The nurse came back with a hot drink for me and behind her was the most welcome sight that I needed to see.

Jason, Merv and Harry was standing their!!!

I hugged all 3 of them and I started crying, out of relief....

After about an hour a doctor came and saw us....

He told us that Liam does not have sepsis which is great news but does have a bad infection.

He's in surgery at the moment for whats called "Surgical Debridement"

The doctor told us the following..

"The primary treatment is surgery to remove all the dead, black tissue as the dead tissue does not heal and, if left in place, can cause an infection which has happened. We are also giving him high dosage of intravenous antibiotics to fight the bacteria and prevent the infection from spreading. He's going to be ok but he's going to be a bit sore and unfortunately he might need adjustments to his prosthetic. We will be keeping him in for a couple of days"

I burst into more tears, again due to the shear relief of knowing he's going to be ok and not die...

Harry, Harry Webber here!!

Yes, I went to the hospital with Merv.....

I know that me Dad said "nobody apart from Aj is going" but I wasn't and couldn't accept that!

Liam is not only my work colleague but my best friend and I needed to be with him and support Aj, regardless of wot Jason said!

I TOLD him that I'm going whether he likes it or not and if necessary I will catch a taxi to the hospital.

I also TOLD him that Merv is in pieces mentally and he NEEDS to see him and support him.

I gave him 'one of my looks' which told him I'M GOING......

Dad knows wot I'm like when I have made me mind up about something and he made a wise decision to take me and Merv to see Liam

Don't get me wrong, I love me dad and will take a bullet for him anytime, but Liam is my best friend and I care about him.

Me dad hesitated for a few seconds, gave me a hug and told me to get changed and get Merv.

Both of us were ready and waiting in reception within 5 minutes!!

Part 2581

Aj was so relieved that us 3 had visited, he really did need the support....

The doctor told us that Liam will go into the recovery room after his operation and the chances of visiting him will be slim.

He advised us to go home and visit in the morning....

We took his advise and returned to the hotel.

On arrival Leo was surprisingly at reception. He took me to one side and asked me to go and see Tom. Tony was with him at the moment.

What else is happening??

I went to Tom's flat and found Tony and Joe comforting him....

Tom was in tears.

I sat down next to him and asked him whats wrong.

He is blaming himself for Liam being in hospital...

Tom sees Liam every Friday to massage his stump, apply the special cream and apply a new stump bandage.

But for the last 2 weeks Liam has missed his appointments. The first was he was very busy with an urgent cake making, which he was and the next week, Tom had to go and find him to remind him, but again he was busy..

Tom is now blaming himself as if he was more forceful in seeing him, he would have probably noticed something was wrong.

I gave him a bigger hug and told him he can't blame himself. Liam made the decision not to see you, even though you went to find him to remind him.

Tom didn't accept what I said as he thought he had a responsibility to make sure Liam was ok and treated?

That stumped me, (sorry Liam, no pun intended there!) as Tom had a valid point their!

Tom is really professional in the gym, his massages, his treatment room and everything else he does.

He takes his roles very seriously and puts 110% effort into anything he does.

To be perfectly frank, I felt for him, as I knew he thinks he has 'let down' Liam big time.....

Tom, don't beat yourself up about it. You did your very best to get Liam in for his treatment. Unfortunately Liam has neglected himself and focused on him work. A lot of people do that to the detriment of their health. Over committing to work is commendable but not to the detriment of health. Liam's been lucky and hopefully he'll speedily recover.

We can all make mistakes as long as we learn from them then it's all part of living.

Hats off to the NHS!

TOM here.....

I don't normally write on here, but I would like to thank you for all the lovely kind comments on here and by Dm.....

And thank you Jason for explaining things to me.....

I do feel a bit better but at the time of this I felt really guilty.

I should have monitored Liam better than I did.....he's always the first to respond to any of us that are ill etc and I didn't follow up on his missed appointments with me.

I should have been a bit more forcefully explaining how important it is for the stump to be regularly inspected and for the soothing cream and stump sock to be used.

No matter wot anybody says.....

I let Liam down BIG time and he ended up in hospital having the infection shaved off his stump.

Yes I know Liam is an adult and is capable of making his own decisions but I felt awful about this.

Jason and the others were very supportive of me and told me not too blame myself....

I won't go into anymore details as wot happened when Liam got discharged from the hospital is obviously part of the story.....

All wot I will say is......

Don't ever mess or get on the wrong side of Jason!!! Bloody hell.... glad I wasn't in Liams shoes!!

Anyway.....

Once again I appreciate your kind comments....

Tom was really upset, and no matter how much I consoled him he thought he didn't do enough to help Liam.

I wasn't a happy chappy to say the least now.

Next morning......

Just after breakfast Aj came into the office saying he has phoned the hospital and Liam is sitting up in bed..he's ok.

Tom has given him the day off to go and visit him.

I told him I'll take him as I want a 'word' with Liam.

We got to the hospital and found Liam in a side room, sitting up in bed watching TV!!!

He saw us and smiled saying "hello"

He was genuinely pleased to see us but he must have seen the 'look on my face' which told him I was unhappy with him.

He immediately apologised to me saying he knew he had neglected his health and missed appointments with Tom.

He then told us that he has in the past 30 minutes spoken to Tom and apologised to him.

He must have phoned when we were travelling here.

I sat down and thought at least he has acknowledged his fault and apologised to Tom and to me....

Do I give him a bollocking now or not?

Liam asked Aj to get me a coffee from the cafe...

Aj immediately picked up that Liam wanted to speak to me.

As soon as Aj left the room, Liam told me that he knows I'm upset with him and he knows he's getting a bollocking.

He also said that he "deserves a massive bollocking" at the least and he is totally ashamed of himself.

I couldn't bring myself to give him a bollocking.....

He was giving himself a bollocking by the sounds of it?

Aj returned with 3 coffees. Mine was a cappuccino with chocolate on top!

The consultant surgeon came into the room.

"Well Liam, it looked worse than what it was....we have removed the debris and smoothed it out and the infection is being treated with the IV in your arm. You should be able to go home tomorrow subject to the results of the final blood tests. You won't be able to wear your prosthetic for a couple of weeks and it will probably need to have adjustments made to it."

Liam thanked him....as did we.

Liam was lucky this time....

I was just about to say something when Liam said......

"I've been a complete tit. I feel really stupid and foolish and I told Tom if he still wants to treat me I promised I will never miss another appointment with him again. Tom agreed to treat me still, but told me that when it's my appointment time I've got to "hop their no matter wot I'm doing"

For some strange reason I started laughing making both of them laugh as well.....

Part 2584.

I thought that Liam was punishing himself and realised the mistake he made......

I decided just to say, after we stopped laughing.....

"Liam, I think you have learnt a hard lesson and I'm pleased you have realised it. And I'm sure Tom is more happy now that you apologised to him, as he's been in tears thinking he was at fault. Just look after you health, as it comes before work"

Liam nodded....

Aj hugged me and we then had a group hug.

As we were hugging I heard a voice behind me say "can we join in?"

It was Harry and Merv!!

The little buggers got John to run them here and expected me to run them back....

And yes Harry and Merv joined in with the hug.

After a shortish visit we all left to go back to the hotel....

And yes, you're guessed it, Harry made me turn right at the traffic lights!!

At least he had the decency to buy us our McDonald's!!!

He had his normal big mac meal.

I had a Fajita Chicken wrap, a banana milkshake and fries as did Aj and Merv.

We sat in and ate our meals for a change...

Harry made it very clear to Merv and Aj that they are not too tell anyone that we had a mcd's as Dylan doesn't like McDonald's as it's 'junk food'

Merv laughed and on seeing Harry's serious face he pulled, he realised that Harry was being serious.

He put his finger to his mouth like he was zipping it up....

Aj then laughted saying that if Tom saw him now he would sack him!!

I don't know why Harry hides his love of McDonald's as Dylan knows he has them and knows that he will have a big mac meal tonight!!

We got back to the hotel to find Simon and Ethan on reception.

On the cctv monitors I could see a light emanating from the Flowery. Ethan saw me looking and told me that Noah, Zak and Nathan were working getting things ready for delivery tomorrow.

I went to see them and found them in just shorts and tee shirts working away....

They have 28 bouquets being delivered tomorrow!

I decided to leave them too it....

I left the Flowery and headed back to reception where I found Merv asking Ethan if he had seen Pat?

Then Pat appeared in his chef's whites with the hot trolley filled with pizzas and sandwiches!!

Wot the fuck?

As you are probably aware, most nights Harry makes a snack for the lads, but he sneaked out to the hospital to see Liam

Pat is becoming a Harry 'mini-me'!!

God help us!!

Not another Harry!!

I then noticed how much similar Pat was becoming to Harry....

What he does, how he speaks and even down to how his tea towel is attached to his chef's trousers!!

The chef's trousers have a loop each side by the pockets and the other chef's use these loops to put their tea towel in to hold it....

But not Harry!!

And now not Pat!!

Harry uses a safety pin to attach the tea towel to the loop and to a corner of the tea towel.

He says it gives him more tea towel to use and he doesn't have to fumble around pushing it back through the loop!! He uses the tea towel and then just drops it.....

Simple but effective?

Harry has his little quirks.... like the tea towel and safety pin, and even the number of pleats in his chef's hat!

Harry told me once the following...

"The number of Pleats in a Chef's Hat like hat height, tradition dictated the more pleats featured in a chef’s hat, the higher their experience level. It was said that if a chef had 100 pleats in their hat, that represented the number of ways they knew how to prepare eggs. It also signify's their experience level when it comes to mastering techniques and recipes."

I didn't know that!!!

But it does make sense and apparently Harry adds another 'pleat' to Pat's hat when he masters another technique and method !!!

Harry is a traditionalist, yes I know that sounds unbelievable but he is!!

Harry is just Harry, Harry Webber and I wouldn't change him for all the tea in China......

(The next part is a bit distressing)

I was in the bar eating pizza (!) when Jack approached me saying I'm needed in reception urgently...

I went to reception to see a distraught Ethan and Simon....

The next moment Nathan comes hurtling into reception crying his eyes out.....

Apparently Lewis has been 'hurt' whilst fighting a fire at a warehouse on the local industrial estate.....

We sat Nathan down.....

Ethan said he took the phone call from Lewis's mother and put the call through to the Flowery straight away.

Nathan told us that Lewis is in hospital, but has been transferred to the "Midland Metropolitan University Hospital" due to the severity of his back injury.

Apparently whilst fighting the fire inside the building, part of the ceiling collapsed unexpectedly trapping Lewis underneath it....

They got him out but the concern was he couldn't feel anything from the waist down.

Nathan was distraught thinking that Lewis could have a broken back.

I gave him a hug.

Lewis mum told him she will phone him as soon as they get there or hear anything....

I took him upstairs to my flat and gave him a double brandy saying it will help him.....

We hugged each other and Nathan was in floods of tears.

Nathan was really distraught and the brandy wasn't helping....

I told him he can stay in my spare bedroom tonight....

I left a message with Simon that any phone calls or updates for Nathan to be put through to my flat...

The rumour mill had started!!

Both Harry and Tony was knocking on the door to see if Nathan was ok and if its true what they heard...

That started an avalanche of lads visiting to comfort him.

Harry and me managed to calm him down and stripped him to his boxers and put him in bed...

I promised as soon as I hear anything I will wake him up.

Harry sat with him and said he cried himself to sleep...

Just gone midnight my flat phone rang.....

It was Lewis's mum.....

I immediately woke Nathan who rushed to the phone.....

Lewis has been x-rayed and had an MRI Scan.....

No broken bones!! Thank god.

But........

He has 'Nerve Compression' which they have classed as 'moderate' but he will make a full recovery within 6 to 12 weeks by having physical therapy.

Nathan was so relieved but again he started crying....

I got into bed and left the quilt open....

Nathan looked and jumped in and layed down on his back...

I put my arm round him....

We both fell asleep....

Next morning.... breakfast.

All the lads consoled Nathan.

I asked Nathan to take the day off as no doubt he wanted to visit Lewis in hospital. I told him I will drive him there and suggested that he phones Lewis's mum and ask when he can visit....

09.00am....

Nathan comes into my office a bit happier than he was last night. He phoned Lewis's mum and found out that Lewis has regained some feeling back in his legs!!!

His mum is hopeful that he will be discharged later this afternoon.

She promised that they will visit the hotel before they go home....

Nathan went to work at the Flowery as they were busy.....

5.50pm.....

I was at reception when Lewis was wheelchaired in by his Mum, stepdad and sister.....

Billy phoned the Flowery and the next minute Nathan comes rushing in, saw Lewis and burst into tears!!

Lewis smiled...."don't I get a kiss then?"

Nathan kissed him, much to the disgust of Lewis's sister who said "yuck, pack that in and get a room you 2!"

We all laughted......

Billy told them that evening meal is just about to be served if they want to stay and eat?

Lewis immediately asked his parents "please, can we stay?"

Just then the tannoy went saying that evening meal now being served!

We all went to the dining room and all of a sudden a huge cheer went up from the lads already seated. They all got up and shook Lewis's hand.

As the rest of the lads came in they also shook Lewis's hand asking how he was....

Harry came out of the kitchen with John and Sean holding plates to serve the lads and Harry nearly dropped his plates when he saw Lewis sitting at the table in a wheelchair. The soft sod put the plates down and went to hug Lewis. As usual Harry had wet eyes!!!

The lads all shook Lewis's stepdads hand and said hello to his mum and sister.

Beef stew on the menu tonight with all the trimmings....

Obviously the talk of the table tonight was Lewis....

Tony done his usual nightly "well done all" speech and welcomed Lewis and his parents and sister to the table.

Obviously the lads were on their best behaviour!!!

Lewis's mum asked for the recipe for the beef stew as it had such lovely taste and must have a secret ingredient!!

His stepdad said... "I must eat here more often if the food is this good" resulting in mum punching him on the arm!!

It was funny to see and hear when stepdad tried saying "oh shit....but not as good as your cooking dear!"

We all laughted......

NATHAN here now......

Lewis didn't actually tell us wot happened for him to get his injury.

Lewis's stepdad asked "why would Firefighter Walker say that? Are we missing something here?"

The deputy looked at Lewis....

The deputy smiled....

Lewis's mum started crying...his stepdad touched him on the shoulder and asked him to tell him what really happened?

The Deputy then shook Lewis's hand telling he had to come and see him personally to make sure he was aware of his paid sick leave and all his medical bills are paid for and to tell him of the award he has been nominated for.......

Lewis's stepdad showed the Deputy out and walked him to his car.

He came back in and immediately hugged Lewis who was now sitting on the sofa.

He then went on to say.....

"I'm so proud of you Son, the Deputy told me what you done."
