Turning the key in the lock I let out a sigh of relief.It felt good to be alone again after the morning I had just had.

Stepping through the front door I quickly shut it leaving the village life outside.For a minute I stood taking in my surroundings thinking of the last time I was here.

The hallway seemed much darker than I remembered.Was it because Captain had gone taking some of his belongings with him?or was the house missing his charismatic energy.What ever it was I felt it as I slipped off my boots and walked towards the kitchen door.

Pushing it open I glanced at the large bottle of champagne that sat in the middle of the table with an enveloped card.

Smiling to myself i quickly walked in and picked up the envelope ripping it open.

The card had a painted picture of a house on its front with gold letters up above it.

Welcome to your new home they read as I flicked open the card to read what Captain had wrote inside.

A smaller yellow envelope slid out from inside breaking the silence as it fell onto the table.Looking quickly down at i saw the written words ‘Dannyboy’.

Reading the card quickly I stood it up next to the bottle and pulled out a chair.

Slowly sitting down I reached for the yellow envelope.Sliding it across the table towards me I couldn’t help wonder why I felt happy Captain had left me a personal envelope.

Ripping it gently open I slid out the folded peice of paper from inside and opened it

Tossing the foil onto the table I quickly undid the muselet as I thought back to the shop a few hours before.

Jean had given her statement and the police had left leaving us alone .

“Right Kerry what was this business opportunity you wanted to talk to me about” asked Jean looking over at the counter.instantly Kerry’s face snapped to a smile. Taking a few steps back away from Anne she leaned onto the counter top flashing the cleft between round breasts that peek out from her black vest.

“I was wondering if you’d like to come in on my hair cutting business, I need somewhere bigger than my small flat to do it” she said looking at Jean with round blue eyes.

A smile spread across Kerry’s face as she walked from behind the counter.

“What are you going to do with yourself for the rest of the day Dan?” Asked Linda stepping in front of me.

“I dunno” I mumbled watching Kerry and Jean disappear into the office.

“Well you could always go check on our new house make sure it’s ok before we move in” she said smiling holding up a key.

“Did you get the money then?” I asked looking at her.

“Not yet, but I’m sure I will ,besides Captain said it was ok to move in before I do” said Linda swinging the key infront of my face.

I got the feeling she didn’t want me at the shop probably to get Jean alone for more secret discussions.Taking my hand out of my right Jeans pocket I took the dangling key from her grasp.

“Ok I’ll check it out” I mumbled smiling a fake smile.

“Ok great, well we will see you tonight for dinner than” she said smiling before walking over to Anne.

“Ok bye” I mumbled looking back at the office door quickly as I wondered what was going on in there.

Sitting at the table I squeezed at the plastic white cork in the bottle with my thumbs.”well I’m checking out the house Linda like you asked” I said to myself smirking as the cork exploded from the bottle with a loud pop.

The sound of fizzing filled my ears as champagne erupted from the bottle neck.”SHIT!” I shouted before leaning forward and placing my lips over the erupting bottle neck

The bubbly liquid filled my mouth quickly.Trying to gulp it down I let out a moan.

Suddenly I heard the ghostly voice of David Atkins“THATS IT BOY, SUCK IT LIKE THE SLUT YOU ARE,YOUR ALL MINE NOW! It said before laughing.

Startled and frozen to the spot I looked round the kitchen as the hairs on my arms stood up in fear.

The hallway ceiling whizzed past as my body was turned and pulled up the stairs.Hitting the back of my head on the edge of the first three stairs I yelled out.”OOOW STOP YOUR HURTING”I screamed.
