Next day, Harry was discharged from the hospital....

Within an hour of arriving back the little bugger was doing his tea trolley run!!

Leo was fuming and told him to stop and go to his flat and relax and recuperate.....

Harry looked at Leo with his 'death stare' and asked him if he wanted a cappuccino and a nice beef and ham sandwich?

Leo gave him a hug and accepted both but telling him if he feels tired or ill he has to relax....

Mmmnnn....leo bottled out their!!! But so would I have done I think.

Harry is just Harry, he won't change and to be honest.... I don't want him too!!

Hugh sold another 5 cars this week!

I went to the storage centre to see Hugh and Gerry....

We only had 5 cars left to sell and a van to rent, but Gerry was keeping that for the storage clients to use.

Hugh was repairing a car, which had slight damage to the wing.....he certainly is 'hands on'

We had a meeting in their office and both told me that they just don't have enough cars!!

Hugh made it very clear that getting the odd 5 or 6 cars at a time wasn't giving the potential customers a good varied selection to choice from. He also thought that having more cars would mean more sales and profit........

"We have the space for 40 or 50 cars here and make ourselves really known for car sales...and I'm sure that Arlo and Aaron can come up with all the advertising we need to sell them"

Hugh agreed with.....

They then produced a estimated target for cars to be sold, the investment needed and the potential profit. Plus the requirements for another member of staff to help them.

It required a huge investment that I knew would be £100,000 minimum....

Did I have faith and trust in Hugh and Gerry?

You bet I did!!

Hugh even knew where to source the cars from that needed little work to get them up to the standard for them to sell.

I told them to proceed with their plan and get the 3rd person on board.........

After that meeting I went to see Ethan and Blair.....

The new storage units looked good and Adam and Sebastian were just doing the finishing touches.

The storage centre is running at 93% capacity..... well done lads...

Ethan disappeared to help a customer leaving just me and Blair in the office....

It looked like he wanted to say something?

I knew somehow he was going to say something about that as he's night of 'passion' with Rhys was interrupted by Harry being rushed to hospital and Rhys getting really upset and by having other lads in the bedroom!

I told him to come back to the hotel after work and join us all for evening meal and then spend the evening or even night with Rhys.

I saw Blair give me the biggest smile ever.....

I got back to the hotel....

And the first thing Rhys asked me was how was Blair!!

I told him that he's coming for evening meal and the evening and probably the night if he gets a good offer to stay.....

I got back to the hotel just as a builders merchants lorry was driving out......

What was going on here? I thought..

Got to reception and Leo told me that John and Henry were now starting building the extra 4 staff flats!!

Jesus....they wasted no time!!

Then Harry arrived with, yes you guessed it, his tea trolley...

After what he's been though and knowing that he could have as much time off as he wants, with pay, he still elects to work and push his tea trolley..

Their white board was full of writing, their computers were open, the printer was printing and there was stacks of what looked like brochures and leaflets on their desks, the conference table and the floor!

I decided to visit the Flowery...

I left and headed towards the shooting range to see Barnaby.

I got too the shooting portacabin to find Barnaby doing maintenance work on the scoring board and Scott pushing a hoover around!

Scott wasn't down to work today in the bar so was suprised to see him.

Barnaby handed me next months bookings....

20 shooting events with 9 being hotel corporate ones!!

I was impressed......

It was agreed that he really needs full time help now.

The obvious choice was Scott, but he wanted to finish his university degree, so it was decided that Barnaby starts interview for the position....

I emailed Arlo requesting that he does his magic in finding staff for the car sales and the shooting events.....

BLAIR writing my bit now!!

I spent the rest of the day thinking about Rhys!!

I arrived at the dinner table just as Rhys and Blair arrived and both of them had huge smiles on their faces!!

John and Alex was serving the food and when everybody including the kitchen staff, sat down I noticed that Harry and Luke were missing?

I asked where they were to be told that they must still be in their flat.

I excused myself and went to Harry's flat.....

I sat down with my eyes locked on Liam!

I was bloody fuming....

Leo whispered in my ear....

It was Liam with my evening meal all plated up and said..."thought you might be hungry so I've brought your evening meal up"

Anyway.....

Couple days later, Barnaby is interviewing a 22 year old for the position of 'assistant' to help him full time with the laser clay shooting. He has no experience with guns but has worked for an events company and is used to setting up stages and scenery etc....

And Hugh and Gerry are interviewing a lad that Hugh knows.... this lad at the moment works for a very large national car auction company and his job is delivering cars to the customers that brought them. So he has a great knowledge of all makes and models of cars and vans and obviously has good customer skills.

Barnaby called me to the shooting range and introduced me to the lad that he was interviewing....his name was Logan, smartly dressed in jacket and trousers. 6 foot tall, buzz cut and looked liked he works out in a gym etc...

Very polite and spoke well....

And he's not afraid of hard manual work either.....

He has a full driving licence and doesn't mind working weekends neither does he mind staying away from home as on average at the moment he probably spends 2 weeks away, in hotels per month setting up events all over the country.

Barnaby liked that as he thought that perhaps we could now offer events further away from home?

I remember him and Aaron telling me that they have received a few enquiries from places over 100+ miles away. 200+ miles driving in a day after setting up, running an event and then driving home is too much to do in a day......

Barnaby told him about the 'perks' of the job like free use of the gym and free meals, the staff parties(!) etc...

Logan was impressed with the set up and Barnaby invited him to stay for evening meal and if he wanted to try the gym out he could as Barnaby is going for a workout after the interview.

Logan said "if that's ok I would love to try the gym and have dinner, that nice of you to offer. I have my gym kit in my car."

I didn't need telling that Barnaby was probably going to offer him the job!

About an hour later I went to see Tom in the gym and as I went through the changing room, I saw both Barnaby and Logan just come out of the showers.....

Logan definitely wasn't shy and made no attempt to cover himself up and even said "hi" to me.....

Later on I went to the storage unit to see how Gerry and Hugh were getting on..

I arrived, parked up and saw that we now had 29 new cars for sale !!!

A total mixture of makes and models!!

I walked over to see them when my mobile rang....

I was impressed to be honest...

No pushy salesmanship. Just honest talking about the car and it's condition and extras etc.

He knew what he was talking about.

He offered me a coffee and said if I wanted a test drive it can easily be arranged and if I wanted finance he can arrange that as well with his lender......

I followed him back to the office and he introduced me to Hugh and Gerry and went and made the coffees.

He came back with 4 coffees and asked Hugh if I could have a test drive in the Kia?

Hugh invited Finlay to sit down saying......

"Finlay sit down mate, we haven't been honest with you...."

He then asked me how I felt I have been dealt with by Finlay...

I gave him my honest opinion which made Finlay smile and thank me...

Gerry then said......

"Finlay wants a job here as a car salesman. He has just been interviewed and we saw you look at the cars, so sent him out to see if he could help you...so would you give him a job here? Do you think he can do the job?"

I smiled and looked at Finlay....

"I think he would be a great benefit to the business as I like his attitude and how he treated me as a prospective buyer"

Gerry looked at Hugh and then at Finlay and told him.....

"Well done Finlay, if you want the job here on the salary and conditions we mentioned at the interview, then the job is yours?"

Finlay looked at Gerry and apologised to me and told me "I'm sorry about this, but when you finish your coffee your welcome to have a test drive?"

I laughted.....

"Just for your information Finlay, when I visit here, I like a cappuccino, not this shit you call coffee!"

He looked confused and apologised!!

Hugh then laughted and said.....

"Finlay, this is Jason!! The bloke that owns the car lot, the storage centre, the Business Centre and the hotel!! He's our boss!"

Finlay went bright red in the face.

I offered him my hand to shake and welcomed him to the team, if of course, he still wants the job....

He shook my hand and looked at Gerry and Hugh...."you rotten sods...that was cruel! But a good idea.. I actually though Jason was a genuine customer!!

Ethan and Blair came out of their office and shook Finlays hand, both laughing, "hook line and sinker mate!"

Finlay started work....

Apparently he was with the car auction place on a "if and when needed" contract....

In other words if their was no work for the day, he didn't get paid?

We started eating when Hugh noticed that Harry had disappeared and when we looked around we saw him talking to some bloke who was looking at a nice Seat Ibiza car in the car sales area...

Finlay stood up and said he had better go and deal with it, when Gerry told him to leave Harry to it!

A few minutes later Harry returned asking if he could have the keys to the Ibiza as the bloke wants to look inside. Gerry got him the keys...

Harry then returned asking if somebody would take the bloke out for a test drive? Hugh gave him the trade plates.... Harry looked scared stiff saying "I'm not allowed to drive" (which hes not allowed to due to his brain injury)

Finlay laughted saying "you don't drive Harry, the customer does!" (Finlay was unaware of the seriousness of Harry's brain trauma)

Hugh quickly stood up and took Harry and the trade plates to the customer. The 3 of them then took the car for a test drive.....

Gerry explained the seriousness of Harry's injury to Finlay who quickly looked very embarrassed.

20 minutes later the car arrived back and Hugh came back in, leaving Harry and this bloke still looking at the car....

Harry came back in, made a cappuccino and went back out giving this bloke the drink.

10 minutes later we saw Harry and the bloke walk towards us...

"He's fucking sold it to him!" Hugh told us.....

Harry and the bloke came in and Harry introduced the bloke, (by his first name!) To Gerry saying "this is Peter, can you work your magic in getting him finance of the Ibiza please?"

The finance went through, no problem and the customer is picking up his Seat Ibiza 2018 plate tomorrow afternoon!!

£5,750 !!!

Well done Harry!!

Finlay told Harry that as he sold the car he should now wash it and valet it!!

Harry smiled ......

"Ok, fair comment...drive it to the wash bay for me and show me wot to do?"

Finlay laughted and told him it's ok it's his job....

This week the car sales sold 5 cars bringing in £26,250.... with a profit of just over £11,000!!

We all had a group hug and me and Harry then went to the Business Centre to see Aiden and Dean.

We got their and Harry opened his backpack and took out more sandwiches and crisps for them!!

Oh Harry, your such a thoughtful pain in the arse!!

The Business Centre offices are now full!! Every office now rented out and last week another 6 companies are started using the 'telephone and mail handling' services....

Well done Aiden and Dean!

Me and Harry headed back to the hotel.....of course Harry made me stop at McDonald's ...... big mac meal for both of us and a strawberry milkshake for him and a banana one for me...

The bugger even made me pay for them!!

We got back to the hotel....

Arlo saw us in reception and came charging out of his office and literally hugged Harry to death!!

"It was you, wasn't it Harry...you gave my charity the £10,000?"

(At this point only me, Dylan and Luke knew how much Harry won...but Harry did say to the others that he won 'sum money' and wants to put a party on for them and pay for it)

Harry told Arlo to "shut up, be quiet please, I don't want the others too know please. But yes it was me"

Arlo broke down in tears their and then....Harry put his arm round him and sat him down on the sofa.

Aj, bless him, went and got Arlo a brandy from the bar and gave it too him.

Arlo was really crying, but they were what Harry would call 'happy tears'

The next minute I heard a shout from Leo....and the next I saw Liam running as quickly as he could with his medical bag over his shoulder.

I wasn't wearing my personal radio so was unaware of what was going on.

Leo shouted, staff new builds....

Me, Arlo and Harry rushed to the area where the new staff flats were being built and found Sebastian on the floor covered in blood. John, Henry and Adam was couching down over him...

Blood was literally spouting up in the air and John was covered in blood trying to stop the bleeding coming from Sebastian's wrist.

Liam got their....

Sebastian's was cutting some wood with a knife and stupidly cut his wrist!!!

He managed to cut the radial artery in his wrist.

Jesus fuck...bloody was gushing out!

Liam went into his medical bag and pulled out a "RapidStop Tourniquet"

He put this tourniquet on Sebastian's forearm about 3 inches above his wrist. It had a ratchet on it and Liam engage to ratchet mechanism and tightened the tourniquet until the bleeding stopped.

Sebastian was screaming and poor Harry fainted!

Liam then radioed that an ambulance is needed and relayed what had happened over the radio.

I heard Aj reply..."will do"

Then 2 minutes later the radio crackled again....

"Ambulance on way, injury described and told to keep tourniquet on and tight. Eta 5 minutes...."

Part 2780

Sebastian was crying and poor Harry fainted and fell on his arse..

Apparently Sebastian was using a very sharp chisel to do some joinery when it slipped slashing his wrist.

It was a deep cut and to be honest I think without Liam getting their quick and attaching his tourniquet I think it was possible Sebastian could have bled out!!

Harry woke up just before the paramedics arrived with a proper 'Critical Injury Bleed Control Kit'

Sebastian was taken away and Adam went in the ambulance with him.

John was literally covered from head to shoe in blood....

Liam told us that John could be going into 'delayed shock'

We needed to get him out of his 'bloody' clothes and get him warm and observe and assess him for a few hours.....

John said he was ok, but I'm going with what Liam said.... as John was as 'white as a sheet'

Liam and Henry helped him to the gym showers.....

We managed to strip him out of all his clothes, and Henry stripped as well and said he would shower with him and wash him down.

Tom was now aware that the showers were now a biohazard, and he had to disinfect the space and eliminate bloodborne pathogens.

He told us he needs to secure the area and restrict access to the shower stall to prevent others from contacting the blood. He also needs to wear PPE

He told us that when John is finished in the shower he will use absorbent granules (spill kits) to soak up all visible blood and fluids. He will then disinfectant the entire shower area with a 1:10 dilution of household bleach (sodium hypochlorite) and water. This is to ensure it kills viruses like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV.

Aj got some spare shorts, tee shirt and flip flops so we can dress John and take him to his flat.

John was very quiet and let Henry wash him in the shower and for us to dry and dress him.

Liam told John, who now seemed more coherent and talkative that he needs to just rest and chill out and make sure that his legs are raised above his heart.

Henry is going to look after him

Luke was now consoling Harry, who unfortunately threw up in the bin.

Luke took him back to their flat...

About an hour later Adam phoned from the hospital.....

Sebastian is now in surgery having Microsurgery to repair the artery using tiny stitches which is a technique known as anastomosis.

Adam sounded really upset....

I told him that I will get to the hospital in about an hour...

All I heard from Adam was "thank you"

I got ready to go with Tony to the hospital when John arrived in reception....

He wanted to come as he needed to see for himself that Sebastian was really ok.....

I didn't think it was a good idea, but John insisted as he was the 'boss' and asked Sebastian to do the joinery.

We got to the hospital and Adam told us he has now been in surgery for an hour and a half....

Just then Sebastian arrived back to the ward fully awake with his wrist heavily bandaged....

He looked at us 4 and smiled saying "well I'm not going to do that again, it bloody hurts!"

Adam burst into tears....

The surgeon came alone 5 minutes later and told us that he used what is known as "Wide-Awake Local Anesthesia" This technique involved injecting local anesthetic directly at the site of the incision meaning that the surgery was completed with John remaining fully awake. The surgery went very well and apart from a scar on his wrist he should have full mobility in his hand and wrist by about 4-6 weeks. Plus he can go home tonight in a couple of hours"

What a relief that was!!!

I updated Leo who told me that he has reported the accident to the HSE and is awaiting their reply.

He also told me that Tom and Connor has sorted out the gym showers and they are now open.

After about hour and a half Sebastian was given the all clear to be discharged from hospital.

His left hand, wrist and lower forearm was wrapped in bandages.

We all got into the car and drove back to the hotel...

Harry was waiting for us and asked us to go to the dining room and he will get us something to eat.

Adam ended up having to cut Sebastian's food up as he only had one good hand now!!

Barnaby and Logan arrived in the dining room and Harry asked if they have eaten today?

They looked at each other....

Barnaby said they had some sandwiches midday...

He also said they only came in the dining room to see how Sebastian was as they have just found out about his accident.

Harry told them to sit down....

Logan laughted saying "it ok thanks Harry, I'll go home and cook something"

Everybody looked at him and Barnaby told him "I think we had better sit down mate!"

Harry gave him one of his 'death stares'.....

You really don't want to be on the receiving end of one of them!

They sat down.....

Harry made them a full English breakfast including chips!

Later on I was in my flat with my lovely Dylan, when their was a knock on the door....

It was Sebastian and Adam.

Sebastian looked at bit upset and Adam had to goad him to tell me what was wrong.

He was worried that he was going to get sacked for his accident!

I'm ashamed and afraid to say that I decided to 'wind' him up with a bit of banter that backfired on me....

"It was careless and now the HSE are involved and your out of action for weeks....so yes I'm going to sack you and give you 2 a month's notice to vacant the staff quarters"

Before I had the chance to say that off course I WASN'T going to sack him or make them leave, he stood up, apologised to me and too Adam and walked towards the door!!

I called him back and told him to sit down....he had tears in his eyes.

Oh shit....'harry-itus' was catching and I've caught it!

I apologised for winding him up and told him that accidents do happen and as long as we learn from them it's ok. I told him of course I'm not going to sack him or ask them to leave! I also told him that he will be on full pay...

His sad tears turned to happy tears and we both hugged.

The next morning.....

I went to the new staff flats building site and saw John and Henry and Adam slaving away doing some brick laying....

I then saw Sebastian, what looked like, varnishing some wood with a paint brush!!

What the fuck!!

He even had a plastic bag covering the bandages on his wrist and forearm to prevent it getting dirty!!

John looked at me and shook his head. Henry smiled and laughted. Adam also shook his head saying "I told him not too!"

Sebastian smiled, carried on painting..."I'm not an invalid, I can use my other hand"

I was a bit stunned and didn't manage to reply before he continued saying....

"Please Jason, I'm not being funny, but look at Liam, Josh and especially Harry...my injury is absolutely nothing compared to there's and their still working. I'm not being rude or callous but it's true...I'm not useless and I want to work as I hate letting people down and this build will take a lot longer to complete and that's not fair on those waiting to move it in"

I was speechless...I didn't know what to say in return.... so I just smiled and walked away....

I went to the shooting range....

I found both Barnaby and Logan in just shorts and boots jet washing the triple portacabins exterior using a mop and foam spray.

Part 2783

Me, Barnaby and Logan were sitting on the outdoor benches talking about the future events. It was a rather warm afternoon.....

We then heard Ian's golf buggy in the distance and when it arrived, we saw Ian, Harry and Smudge on board..

Harry looked at us, walked over and said "nice day for a picnic"

He then opened his backpack and pulled out paper plates, sandwiches, crisps and a flask!!

Smudge sensed food and jumped on the table as Harry put down paper plates in front of us and looked at the individually wrapped in foil sandwiches....

"Cheese and ham for Logan, ham for Barnaby, beef for Dad, cheese and tomato for Ian!!"

Yes, lovely Harry even knows our food likes and dislikes!

He handed us our sandwiches!!

He pulled out a tupperwear container full of sugar....

"Logan the flask has no sugar in it as I know you don't take sugar" and he then put 5 plastic cups on the table and poured us all a coffee!!

We sat their with our sandwiches and coffee, being carefully watched by Smudge! He was waiting for his moment to pounce on Logans sandwiches!

I was wearing my radio earpiece but Barnaby's radio was freestanding. We heard them crackle and heard Aj's voice saying of the radio network...

"Alright for sum, having a picnic when the rest of us are working hard, eating sandwiches and drinking tea!"

We all smiled and looked at the camera that overlooked the shooting ground......

We then heard.....

"Are you 2 naked? We can't see?"

Barnaby and Logan stood up and walked in front of the table... they then turned their backs to the camera, bent over and 'mooned' at the camera!!

We heard voices laugh over the radio!!

As they went back to the table, Smudge took the opportunity to swipe half of Logans sandwich!!

Bloody Smudge!!!

Logan wasn't happy with him!!

Before he could react Smudge was away and gone!!

Ian and Harry, and to be honest so was I, found that rather funny and started laughing!!

Logan wasn't impressed....

Harry, bless him, laughted....

"Lucky I always carry spares" as he pulled from his backpack a cheese sandwich and gave it to Logan.

Smudge meanwhile was sitting eating the sandwich looking at Logan...I swear blind he was laughing at Logan!

Logan called Smudge a "thieving little git" which resulted in Harry snatching the sandwich Logan was holding in his hand back, telling him..."wot you expect? He's a cat but he's not a git Logan! Now apologise to him!"

Harry gave Logan one of his 'stares' which resulted in Logan immediately apologising to Smudge!!

Harry gave him back his new sandwich......

Logan then laughted saying....

"Can't believe I've just apologised to a cat!!"

We all laughted and Logan got up and gave Harry a hug.....

After we ate our sandwiches I jumped in the golf buggy with ian and Harry and got a lift back to reception.

AJ asked me to phone Gerry....

Leo told me to look at the car sales bank account first....

I went into the office and logged onto the bank account.

In the last 3 days...£32,750.00 has been deposited!!

I phoned Gerry.....

Hugh has sold another 4 cars!! All on finance....

Well done Joe for getting the finance company on board!

I jumped in the car to go to the car sales area to personally thank Hugh and Gerry.....

As I arrived, I found Gerry washing cars (!!) and Hugh out on a test drive.

I waited for the test drive to come back and Hugh gave us a thumbs up sign and him and the prospective buyer went into the office...

Gerry told me that's another car sold!!

I watched, yes watched only (!) Gerry finish washing the car, and about 20 minutes later Hugh came out of the office and we saw him shake the man's hand saying he will see him in 2 days time....

Hugh said he has to get the car a new mot as it was part of the sale that it comes with a new 12 month mot and not the 3.5 month mot left on it. He thinks it will fly through the mot and hes not worried as it will pass.

He said he will take it to the mot now.. the local mot station is only a 5 minute drive away...

I got back to the hotel to have my shoe laces attacked by Smudge, again!

What's the matter with him? Why only my bloody laces?

Leo had a great big smile on his face and told me to go and see Noah.

I went to the Flowery and saw Noah, Zak and Nathan sitting down drinking tea.....

They stood up when I walked in and all 3 of them also had huge smiles on their faces......

A hotel, based about 25 miles away, have signed a contract with them to supply 5 x £75 bouquets daily for the next year!!

Thats £136,500.00 turnover in 12 months!

Noah told me that Arlo arranged it.

We had a group hug and then I went to Arlo's office.

Arlo and Aaron were celebrating with a pint!!

"I take it you have heard about the new Flowery contract Jason?"

That hotel in question has just appointed a new General Manager, a young career rising lady who wanted to improve the image and the smell of her hotel by having fresh flowers every day...

John then came in with Noah....

Noah told Arlo that he has now sorted out the delivery for the flowers on the Saturday and Sunday.

I looked at John....

John put his hands up in the air...

"Don't worry Jason, me, Henry and Ian are taking it in turns to deliver them so we're each only working one weekend in 3. The return journey and delivery will only take about hour and a half anyway if we leave at 06.30am."

I looked at him.....I gave him one of my stares....

"Ok John so when your doing your weekend delivery you are not going to serve breakfast or help out in the carvery"

John looked back at me.....

He squared his shoulders, stood straight upright and told me....

"Bollocks to that Jason...its only an hour and a half on Saturday and probably quicker on the Sunday. Come on we all a big team and family that helps each other out!"

I wasn't going to accept that and actually told John that!!

"Don't swear at me John to start off with....I appreciate what your saying but your working too hard and I'm not going to have you work 7 days in a row....if anything needs doing your always first in the queue to volunteer.. enough is enough now John. At evening meal I will ask for volunteers..if all the lads that can drive volunteer, then you will probably only have to work 2 x weekends a year. That's a better solution, don't you think?"

John looked at me, he knew I was probably right.. but to be honest, I think he wanted to do it...why I don't know?

John wasn't happy and walked away in a huff....

At evening meal Tony was giving his normal well done, thank you speech and I noticed John and Henry sitting at the far end of the table, very quiet and not helping to serve the meals.... John really has the hump with me.....

I decided not to ask for driver volunteers for the weekend flower deliveries as Noah later informed me that their has been many requests for having deliveries on a Saturday and Sunday for the weddings and birthdays and celebrations, that he thinks we could actually employ a weekend delivery driver?

Of course, why didn't I think of that? I'm slipping!!

Later on I was relaxing in my flat with Dylan and there was a knock on the door and Harry walks in. He always knocks but never waits for a 'come in'....he just comes in!

Now, Harry, Harry Webber, (he who knows everything about whats happening at the hotel) gave me a horrible stare and said.....

"What have to done to upset John? He's really upset and been crying"

Part 2787

(This part gets a bit emotional! Well it did for me...so be warned)

Harry was really concerned about John, as it's so unusual for him to get upset and nobody has ever heard of him crying before?

Harry is very protective of the others, VERY protective and if I didn't want to get on his wrong side or get one of his 'death stares' I thought I had better go and see John.

Surely it can't be to do with what I said to him? John's stronger than that!!

When Harry left, leaving me with a flea in me ear and telling me in no uncertain terms "to sort it" I went to John and Henry's flat.....

I knocked on the door and Henry answered it....

He stood at the door just looking at me, he didn't say anything, nor did he invite me in.....

I asked him if John is ok?

His reply was......

"Its a bad time at the moment Jason, he's in bed"

I then saw John, just in shorts, come out of the bedroom......

I looked at him and he had very red eyes......it was so obvious he had been crying, heavily.....

He asked me to come in.....and we sat on the sofa...

Henry went and made the cappuccinos.

I put my arm round his shoulders and asked if he was ok and did I upset him?

He put his head on my shoulder and cried....in fact he sobbed his heart out....

I felt so bloody guilty....and I mean guilty..

Henry came back with the cappuccinos, kissed John on the forehead and left the flat....

We didn't speak for a while, I just shoulder hugged him with his head buried on my shoulder.

Then he sat up and told me....

"Jason, you have given me and Henry everything...jobs, a van, a place to live, a family and self proud back. We do these extra things to repay the trust and love you have for us. We can never fully repay you for that. Hence us working extra. We do it because we WANT too do it. We want too show you our appreciation"

I hugged him tighter.....

"John, you have nothing to repay. You and Henry work hard enough as it is! You help serve us meals at breakfast and evening meals. You help the carvery on Sundays and work Monday to Friday and I know you work extra hours to finish things off. And you don't claim overtime. You don't have to prove, or show your appreciation anymore than you already do. I get it John, I really do, but I love you and Henry for who and what you are. I just want you 2 to be happy"

We hugged more and we both cried...
