Connor smiled at me....

When we were alone he asked if I could do him a favour?

He asked if I could arrange for both him and Martin to have Friday off work please?

Why? I asked.......

"I want to take him out for dinner and then see the "Rocky Horror show" musical. And I want to ask him something as well"

He had a huge smile on his face..

Just after the afternoon teas had finished I saw Leo, Dylan, Liam and Harry go into the office...

Oh god!!! World War 3!!

No way I was going in the office!

I chickened out and stood behind reception with Billy and Aj.

We all listened for shouting or things being thrown around....

But nothing heard!! It was eerily quiet......

10 minutes later, still nothing heard!!

What was going on?

Billy and Aj looked at me.... they both knew why they were all in the office.

"Wish I was a fly on the wall" Aj told us.

Billy laughted saying.... "they have chickened out telling them, don't blame them as Harry isn't going to like it!"

20 minutes later still nothing!!

That's half an hour they have been in their? Are they all dead?

Aj had enough now with not knowing so he got 4 cappuccinos from the kitchen, knocked on the office door, waited for Leo to say "yes" and then quietly told me and Billy to "wish me luck" and went in!!

30 seconds later he came out!!

"Tell us then!" Both me and Billy said together!

"Nothing...they were sitting round the conference table. They stopped talking as I went in. I handed them each a cappuccino. They all thanked me. I quickly left then!"

After 40 minutes ......

The office door opened and Harry and Liam walked out of the office.. they didn't say anything as they walked past us!!!

We all went into the office and found both Dylan and Leo just sitting their..... both very red faced........

Part 2816

At evening meal Harry was sitting with Luke and Liam sitting Aj at the table.

They took no part in preparing the meal.

Later on in the evening I was in my flat waiting for Harry to turn up for his normal head massage that he comes for when Luke is working.

He never showed up!!

He's in a mood over what happened earlier no doubt?

I went down to see if he was in the bar....he wasn't....Aj told me his with Liam in Liams flat..

Aj couldn't look me in the face..he knew Harry was upset

The next morning.....

Breakfast called.....

Again Harry and Liam sitting at the table!!!

The others seemed to knew what was going on and the 'mood' at the table wasn't that good... no laughing or joking and when Billy was giving his morning speech and duties etc, no body said a word or joked about it.

11.00am.....

No tea trolley!!

No sandwiches or crisps or snacks or hot drinks!

Leo phoned the kitchen....

The phone was on 'speaker' mode and I heard Dylan say......

"Oh shit....forgot about that. Thats something that Harry just does on his own back. He's here preparing his afternoon teas"

By 11.30am we had the gym lads, the Tannery, the Flowery and Ian, Arlo, and Aaron asking where the tea trolley was!!!

Oh shit.....I think Dylan and Leo's plan has miraculously failed!!

The 'posh' afternoon teas had 16 people booked....

Aj then told us "I wonder how the W.I ladies on Friday are going to feel about Harry not being involved?"

Oh...for fucks sake!!

Leo looked at me.....

Its not often that Leo is wrong or makes a bad business decision.

He knew he had made a mistake....

He then left reception and headed for the kitchen....

Thank you... I appreciate wot your saying but I'm not a spoiled brat as I was only following instructions!

Yes I know they love me and worry about me but I NEED to work! It keeps my mind occupied and active.. if I'm not working I get headaches and worry too much.

Leo brought Dylan back to the office.

Dylan realised as well that they have made a mistake regarding Harry.

Harry had literally done what they told him, so he hasn't done anything wrong....

Dylan then told me that Harry wasn't ignoring me last night by not coming round as he was at Liam's designing a expensive wedding cake!!

Dylan admitted he forgot about Harry's tea trolley and the W.I lunches.....

I had enough of all of this and phoned the kitchen asking for Harry to report to my office immediately.

Harry turned up.....

I told him that on review of his new position given to him yesterday we all realise that it might have been a mistake and we should now all sit down and rethink it?

Harry then shocked me to the core..

He told us..........

"No I won't sit down if you don't mind and no we don't need to rethink anything"

He then gave me an envelope......

He then walked out of the office!!

Hello.....

LEO here.....

I admit I made a mistake with Harry.

I saw Jason open the envelope and read the letter inside.

He started crying.....

He put the letter onto his desk and walked out. Dylan followed him.

I of course read the letter .....

It was handwritten by Harry.

"I love you all and appreciate you are looking after me health and that. I also know you are my bosses and have decided what my duties are to be. I respect that. And I will of course do wotever you require me to do. I wish I hadn't asked to extend the afternoon teas to 5 days a week as you have taken away my privilege of feeding the lads and my tea trolley and the W.I lunches. It seems you have put profit before the well being of the staff. I know I have exaggerated that and of course the lads will be fed and looked after. But with all respect...that has always been my job and I NEED TO ENSURE THEY ARE OK AND NOT HUNGRY. I know this sounds like I'm dictating what my job should be, I'm honestly not doing that, I'm just saying how I feel.....I respectfully ask you reconsider my job and I'm willing to train somebody else to do the afternoon teas on Thursday and Friday instead of me. But I will of course respect whatever your decision is and will always love and respect you all....Harry xxx"

I sat down at my desk, put my head in my hands and cried..... I cried so loudly both Billy and Aj came running into the office to see if I was ok.

I was still clutching Harry's letter.......

LEO still writing....

I cried......

I felt guilty and ashamed of my decision....

To take away Harry from feeding the lads and monitoring their 'intake' was cruel, heartless and demeaning.

I knew why Harry does it, I knew why he just does his tea trolley round and why he will, no matter what time day or night, cook for them. He even makes sure their is a plate of food for Simon our night porter!

I'm ashamed of myself for ignoring that.

And yes I was thinking of profit more than the needs of Harry and the staff.

I went up to Jason's flat....

Jason was sitting on his sofa with what Harry calls "wet eyes"... very wet eyes.

Dylan obviously had been crying as well.

I told them we have made a terrible error of judgement and we need to rectify it immediately.

I then told them that I'm cancelling the duties we gave Harry and will be reinstating him to his normal duties with immediate effect and ask him to train up another 2 chefs to do the normal afternoon teas, promoting Merv and Pat to do the 'posh' afternoon in the Orangery on Thursday and Friday's. I asked Dylan to sort out the other 2 chefs that needed training.

Dylan agreed with me and said Alex and Martin can be trained up.

Jason just nodded.

Jason was really upset about this situation and felt he has let Harry down badly.

I went to Harry's flat..no answer.

I used my radio to ask if anybody hade seen him.

He was in the gym.

I went to the gym and found Harry in the weight room.

He was sweating like a pig but I noticed he had 'wet eyes' as well.

Luke saw me and beckoned me over.

When out of ear shot from Harry he decided to rip my bollocks off by reading me my fortune, in no uncertain terms.....

I put my hands up to shut him up and immediately apologised saying "I've sorted it. Harry's going back to his normal duties. We made a dreadful mistake and I will apologise to him. I'm ashamed of myself for doing that and it should never have happened. Harry didn't deserve to be treated like that."

Luke gave me a hug, apologising for swearing at me and for what he said. (It wasn't very nice!)

I went back to Harry and asked that when he has finished with his work out can he come and see me.

A bit later, Harry came into the office.

I asked him to sit down but he refused saying he would rather stand!

"Sit down please Harry" I repeated and he eventually did. I thought for one moment that 'harry-itus' was going to happen and he was going to rip my bollocks off as well, but he didn't say a word.

First thing I done was apologise to him for our thoughtless actions and told him that as of tomorrow he is back to his normal duties. I also told him that the Orangery afternoon teas are being extended to 5 days a week, but Merv and Pat will be trained to do them on Thursday and Fridays and Alex and Martin will be trained up to do the normal afternoon teas to take over from Merv and Pat.

I again apologised to him and took full responsibility for the dreadful decision we made.

Harry just stared at me....

The silence was awful and made me feel more guilty and ashamed.

Harry never said a word!!!

I then asked him if he would continue as normal feeding the lads, functions and the W.I group. And if he would continue with his tea trolley?

He just nodded at me......

For fucks sake Harry, talk to me!!

We sat their staring at each other!

I was determined that I wasn't going to speak first as I needed a definite answer from him!!

The silence was deafening!!

Then, thank god, he said "yes of course, is that it now? Can I go?"

I stood up and extended my hand for him to shake.....

He stood up and did shake my hand in the end.

I asked for a hug......

He didn't hug me.......he just left.

I need to build 'bridges' with him as I have really upset him....

I sat and thought.....

From day one.... Harry has always looked after the staff, food wise, and because of his 'past' he made it his business that no staff goes hungry.

Evening meal called....

After Tony's well done speech Harry stood up and told us not too forget about his party tonight!!

Shit!!

I had forgotten about that!!

Anyway, I quickly went up to my flat to find Dylan had already got me a sequin shirt and trousers ready!!

We both dressed in our 'gear' and Dylan gave me a pair of extra laugh spectacles to wear!

I looked a right bloody plonker!!

Dylan unbuttoned 4 of my shirt buttons telling me this is how they wore these 'john travolta' gear in them days....

I was a bit embarrassed!!

That was until I got to the function room and found everybody in sequins!

Even Paul was dressed up But he had a large curly wig on as well!

Lots of 80's music being played and believe it or not the lads were dancing to it....

It wasn't long before some of the lads were shirtless.....

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Harry give Leo a whiskey and then a hug.....

Thank christ for that!

Then I saw Alex and Liam bring in trays of baked potatoes followed by trays of grated cheese and baked beans!!

Aiden, the bugger, then got on the microphone and told us that Paul should be the party mascot....

Party mascot? Never heard of that before?

Paul shouted across the room.....

"Party mascot? Yeah thats me, wot I have to do?"

Saying that was a red flag to Aiden!

"You have to be the naked server!! You strip and then serve us our baked potatoes with whatever fillings we want!"

"Ok..if you do it as well Aiden!" Replied Paul..

Another red flag for Aiden!!

Within seconds both Paul and Aiden were bollock naked!!

The jacket potato's were delicious!!

Next morning.....

11.00am

Harry returns with his tea trolley!!

He had a huge smile on his face!!

I was chuffed when Harry gave Leo a hug......

I noticed that Aj had been looking a bit concerned for the last couple of hours, like he wanted to say something but didn't know how to say it?

I asked him if he's ok?

He asked me if Mervyn was ok?

I thought to myself..... why did he ask about Merv?

I waved him into the office and shut the door.....

"Ok Aj, spit it out mate...is their anything I need to know here?"

Aj looked at the floor, his eyes moving left to right, his mouth opened like he was going to say something but then it closed.

I asked him to look at me.....

"Aj, we all have a duty of care towards each other and we already made a terrible mistake regarding Harry, and now you asked me if Merv was ok? Why did you ask that? No bullshit please"

"Please Jason, he replied, can you just see if he's ok or ask Pat"

I trusted Aj and knew he knew something but didn't want to betray Merv's trust.....

I thanked him and went to the kitchen....

Merv was helping prepare a meal for a function we had on in the conference room.

Pat was not in the kitchen but in the dining room helping prepare the tables for the meal.

He saw me coming over......

He wasn't his normal happy self and I asked him if he's ok?

He bite his bottom lip and his eyes started watering or "getting wet as Harry would say"

I put my arm round him and he started to cry....

I told Martin who was helping to prepare the tables to tell Dylan I'm taking Pat to the office.

We got to the office and I sat Pat down....

I asked him if him and Merv are ok?

The next minute a knock of the door and Merv walked in.....

He immediately sat next to Pat, cradled Pat's head in his hands and told him "it's Ok Pat, it will be ok"

"Tell him please Merv, I can't handle this" said Pat.

Merv cuddled Pat and told me the following devastating news.....

"I have testicular cancer. I got a letter this morning from the hospital diagnosing it. They want me to come in and have a operation called a 'Radical Inguinal Orchiectomy' which means surgery to remove the affected testicle through a small incision in my groin".

My heart sunk to the floor....

My eyes watered.....

I hugged both of them.....

We all started crying.....

It never rains it pours, says Dylan!

Bloody hell, he knew a 'saying' !!

I was in the office hugging Merv and Pat when Dylan came in....

"Christ, wots happened? I know you 2 have been not your usual selves?"

Even though Merv was the 'sick' one he was comforting Pat....

Obviously Dylan then thought it was something to do with Pat.....

He knelt down in front of Pat asking him ......

"Pat, wotever it is, we will help you mate, we all love you and support you"

"Its me Dylan, said Merv, I have testicular cancer"

Dylan went as white as a sheet and I had to help him too a chair for him to sit down....

I though Dylan was going to be 'sick' so I grabbed the waste bin and gave it to him.

Aj knew something was wrong and knocked on the door and brought with him 4 glasses of Brandy!!

He saw Merv hugging Pat, both crying and me comforting Dylan who must have looked a sight clutching the waste bin to his face, both of us crying as well.

The next minute Liam came rushing in with his medic backpack......

He stuck some 'smelling salts' under Dylans nose that seemed to wake him up a bit.....

"Anything I can help with?" Liam said looking at all of us....

Nobody said a word....

Liam picked the hint up and just said "you know where I am if needed"

The next minute, a knock on the door and in barges Harry, 'he who wants to know' once again he knocked and just came in!!

He saw Dylan with his head over the bin, Merv comforting Pat and all of us crying......

It took all of 3 seconds for Harry to get what he calls 'wet eyes' himself!

Harry opened his mouth, like he was going to say something, but no words came out apart from a 'gasping' sound.....

He started hopping from foot too foot which he does when he's either angry or upset....

I expected him to say something or have a touch of 'harry-itus' but all we got was him getting 'wetter' eyes and saying....

"I'll come back, but you know where I am if you need me"

We all managed to dry our eyes and compose our selves.

We sat down and I told Merv to take as much time off as he needs to recover.

I was shocked when he said the hospital told him that he might be able to go home the same day (!) If everything is ok!! And can go back to normal activities, including work, after about 2 weeks, But need to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for a month.

They also told him that his groin and scrotum may be uncomfortable for a week or so, and the area may be bruised and look swollen, due to having a few stitches, but painkillers will help relieve any pain that he has.

As he told us that, Dylan, unfortunately vomited in the bin.

Merv walked over and started comforting him!!

It looked like Dylan was the 'ill' one and not Merv!

Dylan asked how he is so calm about this?

"They couldn't kill me on the battleground, nor blow me up, but thats thanks to Liam, so I'm not going to let something like losing a bollock worry me!"

I don't know why, but I did feel a bit guilty later, start laughing saying "god that's true Merv, we're going to nickname you Captain Scarlet now!"

They didn't know who, or even heard of the tv childrens show called "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons" which was a 1967 British puppet series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Set in 2068, it follows an indestructible hero, Captain Scarlet, fighting against the Martians (the Mysterons)

They all looked at me like I was daft!!!

Merv will have his operation in 3 days time........

I asked if he wanted the others to know or whether he wants to keep it quite?

He asked that nobody knows for the time being as he has 'to get his head around it first'

He then asked if they could go back to work!!!

Dylan didn't answer and to be honest he was as white as a sheet and didn't look well at all....

Merv and Pat did go back to work and I ended up taking Dylan to our flat for him to compose himself

Finlays sold another 3 cars!!

Gerry has asked to have a meeting with me to discuss the 'way forward' as he has a few ideas that him, Hugh and Finlay have come up with...

Good lads....

I went back to the office to find Harry and Liam standing outside. Harry was hopping from foot to foot.

Leo was trying to calm Harry down but he wasn't having any of it!

His eyes were very, very wet and he was crying....even Liam had 'wet eyes'

I pushed them into the office....

Harry was really upset about Merv and he told me he knows their is somebody happening with him.....

Liam asked me outright...."is Merv ill Jason?"

I couldn't breach Merv's trust so told them that I couldn't tell them anything, and asked them not to push Merv or Pat by asking them. I told them that if their is anything wrong he will say when his ready and not before

They both nodded like they understood what I meant.....

Evening meal called......

The rumours had already started and it was obvious by the love and hugs that both Merv and Pat received from the others that they all knew something was 'wrong'.......

Tony gave his normal well done speech to everybody.....

As he was finishing he turned to Merv and told us.......

"Lads, Merv has asked me to inform you that's it's obvious you lot know something is not right and he is not too well at the moment."

Tony's eyes started watering and his voice became very emotional....

"Merv has testicular cancer and is going into hospital Tuesday for a operation to remove the cancerous testicle."

We heard lots of 'gasps', 'on god no', and 'bloody hells' from the lads........

Part 2826

The other night was Connor and Martin's day off and they went out for the afternoon/evening.

They started off with having a meal at the Pastures in Birmingham and had a lovely tomahawk steak with beef fat chips, spinach gratin, and fire-roasted carrots.

Then they went and saw the Rocky Horror show musical.

They had a great evening out!

The next night I was relaxing with Dylan in our flat when they came in dressed in the normal off duty dress of just shorts and sliders.

They both looked happy and was smiling at each other.....

Dylan asked them if they wanted a cappuccino or should it be a 'celebratory' drink?

Both of them smiled and at the same time both of them showed us their left hands......

Both were wearing signet rings on the finger next to the pinky!

Thats the finger you put wedding bands on.........

I smiled.....

Martin then looked at Connor, then at us and said.....

"Connor asked me if I would like to be his 'official' boyfriend!! He then got down on one knee in the restaurant and showed me the ring!! He put it on my finger and I put the other ring on his finger.....The other diners clapped and cheered us!! God I was so embarrassed!"

Connor then smiled and told Martin that what he is about to say he would like me and Dylan to witness..

"Martin, you agreed to be my boyfriend which I love you for, but what would you say if I asked you to be engaged to me with a view to marrying me? I was going to ask you at the restaurant when I got down on one knee but the clapping and cheering from the other diners got me a bit embarrassed and I kind of didn't say that!"

Martin looked a bit shocked and then he pulled his shorts down!

"Does this answer your question Connor?"

Jesus....Martin had a huge erection already leaking pre-cum!......

Later on that evening....

I heard a frantic knock on the door.

Dylan opened it and found Pat and Merv standing their....

Pat was as white as a sheet and Merv seemed to be in a bit of a 'trance'

All we heard was Pat saying. "He's having another back down"

Now......

Pat is a lovely lad, very caring, help anybody and becoming a more confident chef. He also loves Merv.

BUT.......

Pat doesn't like and can't cope or deal with other people's illness, especially when it comes to Merv having a PTSD episode.

We sat Merv down.....he was in a bit of a daze and shaking.

Dylan took Pat to the kitchen, out of the way and I radioed for Liam and Harry.....

Harry is good with dealing with Merv initially and Liam is good at dealing with the recovery part.

I heard a knock at the door and before I could say 'come in' Harry done his normal....knock and just come in!!

They saw Merv sitting on my sofa shaking and rocking front to back.

Harry took Merv's tee shirt off while Liam was removing his sliders and shorts....

When Merv was naked, both of them stripped themselves and helped Merv to the shower.

All 3 of them sat on the floor, each of them either side of Merv and Harry started the shower and spoke quietly to Merv, encouraging him and praising him.

All I heard was Merv crying his heart out and sobbing.

Normally Merv has a quiet 'episode' but this time he was very vocal.

He was so loud, Pat heard him from the kitchen and I then heard Pat sobbing!

I think Merv is having more than a PTSD Episode this time.... I think it's to do with his testicular cancer and his operation on Tuesday.

Merv eventually calmed down and Harry and Liam managed to get him dried and dressed.

He was still in a bit of a daze but at least he was now speaking and apologised for having another 'episode'

We all sat on the sofas and have a good stiff drink of brandy....

Poor Pat really does hate Merv being 'ill'

Next day......

Call from Aiden....the Business Centre is now at 100% occupancy!

Finlay and Hugh has sold another 2 cars and asked permission to buy more!!!

The builder lads are back on target with the building of the new staff flats and now the electrics going in! John and Henry reckons they will be ready in a week.

Then I heard a desperate Billy call me to reception for an urgent phone call.

It was the Police....

Barnaby and Logan were driving to an event about 25 Miles away on the M6, when an out of control 38 tonne lorry travelling in the opposite direction, lost control, crossed the central reservation, and collided with 6 vehicles including Barnabys.

The force of the impact turned Barnaby's Ford Ranger onto its side.

Both Barnaby and Logan were in Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The police couldn't tell me what condition they were in apart from they were alive and one of them was talking.

The police firearms squad was called due to one of the traffic officers seeing the 'shotguns' in the back and assumed they were fully functioning weapons!

I grabbed Tony and headed to the QE hospital...

We rushed into the hospital and found doctors and nurses running about like headless chickens as the accident was classed as a major incident as their was 15 casualties and one fatality.

My heart missed a beat when I heard that somebody had died.

Trying to get information on Barnaby and Logan were near impossible.

Then logan appeared from god knows where from....

Jesus bloody wept......

His head was covered in bloody bandages, his face was cut to ribbons and he had blood all over him......

He also wanted to know where Barnaby was?

As Logan was talking to us a nurse came looking for him and took him away to a cubicle....

The nurse told us that Barnaby was in the next cubicle.

We went to see him.....

God he looked like he done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson......

He was definitely battered and bruised and his right arm was in a sling and he had a eye patch over his right eye.

He was talking and told us that he thinks that he hit the rear view mirror with his face and it smashed putting some glass fragments in his eye?

He remembers the car rolling over and that he hit his arm on the door rest and then it all went blank until he woke up here.

He asked how Logan was?

We then heard Logan shout.....

"Barnaby!!!! Are you ok....? Remind me never to travel with you again mate!"

The curtain between the cubicles opened and they could now see each other......

"Christ! said Barnaby, you look a mess mate"

"Suggest you look in a mirror mate!"

Both of them laughted with the nurse saying "they haven't lost their sense of humour then?"

The doctor came and told us that Logan has had a head to foot x-ray and is fine, but will need stitches in his head, face and chest. Barnaby has a broken arm and will need a few stitches in his arm and chest and leg and to see the Consultant Ophthalmologist about the glass in his eye.

He also said they were both extremely lucky.

We were told that Logan can go home after the nurse has stitched him up and Barnaby hopefully later on after the Ophthalmology surgeon has looked at and removed the glass fragments from his eye.

The next minute Liam appeared with Harry.....

Now.....you know that Harry absolutely hates hospitals and has, I suppose a 'fear' of them now, as everytime he goes to one he's normally on 'deaths door'

As soon as Harry saw the pair of them, the privacy curtains between the beds were still open, he started shaking and I saw Liam hold him up to stop him falling down

Tony grabbed a chair and sat Harry down.

Liam told us...."Harry insisted on coming, he had to see they were ok as the accident has been on the radio and the tv"

Harry had 'very wet eyes' but managed to say to them "at least your alive, it could have been worse".......

The nurse came back asking us to now leave as she is going to stitch Logan up now and then he can go home.

She then asked if we brought any spare clothes with us as when they brought him in they cut off his clothes!!

When we first saw him he was wearing one of them hospital gowns....

Looks like Logans going home in just a hospital gown, the ones that expose your arse!

Me, Tony, Liam and Harry went to the hospital cafe and had a cappuccino.

My phone rang....it was Logan!

His been 'stitched' up and now has his personal belongings back including his phone and wallet and jewellery.

We finished our cappuccinos and headed back to the A&E department.

Logan was ready for discharge...

He looked a mess......

His head was bandaged and he had 3 lots of stitches on his face.

He was standing there in his hospital gown, a pair of red hospital socks, carrying a plastic bag full of his clothes that they cut off him.

The nurse told him that his clothes are ruined and if he wants he can put them in the 'contaminated bin' in the corner of the room. He did.

Liam told us he will wait for Barnaby and Harry asked if he can come back with me.

It was funny seeing Logan walk to the main hospital entrance doors in just the hospital gown!!

LOGAN writing this bit.....

First of all thank you all very much for your kind and loving messages and Dm's!!

(I'm fine now, no ongoing issues and obviously as I'm writing this I'm still alive and still working here!)

Well......

Me and Barnaby were driving to an outdoor shooting event, about 30 miles away...

We were on the M6......

Their was a lorry on the inside lane doing about 50mph. Barnaby was in the middle lane overtaking it and their was a transit van in the outside lane......

The next minute the transit van broadsided us being pushed by a 38 ton lorry that was travelling in the opposite side of the M6 that had crashed through the central reservation onto our carriageway.

Barnaby braked hard but was still shoved into the lorry in the inside lane.....

That caused us to spin and a car behind us hit our car and we started rolling over!

We have been told that we rolled over 3 times!!! Then ended up in the emergency lane on our near side....

Barnaby was trapped due to his seat belt and was bleeding from his head and face.

I felt blood on my face and it was running into my eyes.

My polo shirt was also covered in blood and my chest hurt....

Barnaby was unresponsive and knocked out....he was dangling towards me only being held in place by his seat belt.

I thought he was dead and I started screaming his name....

I managed to get my seat belt undone and checked Barnaby....he had a pulse and was breathing....

Our windscreen was shattered and I managed to kick the windscreen out and crawled out of the wreckage.

I remember 3 people, including a lovely lady help me to the grass and told me to lay down....

I saw 2 young lads, who I now know were aged 23 and 24 crawl into the car and see to Barnaby.....

Soon I heard and saw sirens and blue lights flashing and saw 4 firemen rush to our car.....

A ambulance man tried getting me into a ambulance but I refused to go until they got Barnaby out!!

I heard a voice call my name....

It was Lewis!!!

He told me to get in the ambulance and he will make sure that Barnaby is helped.

Now I was covered in blood and realised that it wasn't just my blood but that of Barnabys as well.

(Lewis later on the next day told us that they had to cut Barnaby out of the car. He told us it was lucky we were both alive.)

They rushed me to the hospital on blue lights and sirens.

I remember as we pulled into the A&E entrance I was greeted by nurses and doctors who were waiting at the entrance. ....

I was wheeled in very quickly and the nurse was asking me questions like "where does it hurt" "what is your name" "do you know where you are"

I was put in a cubicle and then they started cutting my clothes off!!

I ended up naked on the bed in front of god knows how many nurses and doctors!!!

Various tests were done....I was connected to god knows how many machines.... my heart, my blood pressure, an oxygen mask put on me. I was rushed to x-ray.....

I then remember getting out of bed wearing one of them horrible hospital gowns and walking around, trying to preserve my modesty, trying to find Barnaby.

I didn't find him but found Jason and Tony......

Hi ya.

Again, thank you for your kind and loving messages on here and by Dm

Logan has told you initially wot happened.

I didn't see it unfold and couldn't avoid it as I was literally 'in the middle of it' by being in the centre lane which means I didn't have anywhere to go.

I don't remember much after the impact and I can only go on wot Logan has told me about dangling from my seat belt.

Lewis has told us that we were lucky to get out alive and it was only because of the vehicle I was in, being a solid Ford Ranger, that we survived.

I remember waking up in hospital, naked as the day I was born. My chest hurt, which was thanks to the seatbelt, my arm was caning, my heard was pounding and I couldn't see out of my right eye.

I was hurting badly...

Thank god both me and Logan survived.

I still have the odd nightmare about it.

My eye has fully recovered... the surgeon took 5 splinters of glass out of it!

I had to wear a eye patch for a month, and my arm was in plaster for 6 weeks, resulting in much rib taking from the lads with one of them buying me a toy parrot to put on my shoulder!

Bastards!!!

I have my suspicions on who brought the parrot but nobody has owned up to it.

I still have that bloody parrot in my flat....

On talking about accommodation, all I'm allowed to say is I now live in one of the new staff 1 bedroomed flats!!

But I'm not allowed to say who with!

And yes, before you ask, I am living with 'somebody' who I love so much!

Joe had arranged all the business insurance and thank god he took out a special insurance on the business which was 'income protection' so both me and Logan was being paid and another insurance for 'loss of earnings'

The at fault lorry drivers company paid out for a new vechicle for me and I've now got a lovely Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial. Beautiful!!

And also it paid out for both me and Logans 'personal injury' claims.

Thank you Jason, Joe and Sam for your help in sorting out that for me and for Sam for his investigation and evidence gathering.

Unfortunately we had to cancel 8 weeks worth of events but are now back in the full swing of things but with one exception......

Logan does all the driving!!!!

Once again, thank you for the private messages, it really was nice to read them!!

Thanks Barnaby....

Now Tuesday, day of Merv operation to remove a cancerous testicle.

(Sorry, this session seems to be all 'doom and gloom') !!

Breakfast called....

When Merv joined the table, every lad either hugged him or touched him on the shoulder....

08.15am......

I was running Merv to the hospital so we met in reception....

We both got in the car, when all of a sudden the back door opened and Pat jumped in!

Now Pat isn't very good in dealing with Mervs 'Illness' whether it be his PTSD or Now with this problem.

Merv asked him what he is doing as it was agreed that Pat couldn't handle the hospital and wasn't going to come?

I saw Pat's eyes get watery and then he said......

"I know, but I love you Mervyn, and I want to help you through this"

No body said another word until we got to the hospital.

We got Merv checked in and he was shown to a room.

He undressed and put one of the hospital gowns on.

He then had a re-assessment to check his fitness for anesthesia, blood tests and a ECG).

The consultant surgeon then asked if he would to store some sperm in the sperm bank before the operation, as if he needs further treatments like chemotherapy it could affect his fertility. He then asked him if he wanted a 'Artificial prosthetic testicle' inserted during the surgery to maintain the same appearance, which can be done during the operation?

Both Merv and Pat went bright red in the face, until Merv asked the consultant if he could have one please as "Pat likes playing with my balls" !!

He suddenly realised what he said and immediately apologised!!

I saw the consultant try and hide a smile!!

The consultant then told Merv.....

"I'm going to make a small incision in the groin, not the scrotum and then I'm going to remove the testicle and the spermatic cord through the groin incision to ensure any potential cancer cells in the cord are removed, and then insert the artificial prosthetic testicle. The operation takes about 45 minutes to an hour and hopefully you will be able to go home later today. But no sex for at least 2 weeks!"

Merv was first on the list and at 10.00am the nurse and porter came and took him away to the operation theater........

As soon as Merv was out of sight, Pat broke down in a flood of tears.

A lovely nurse brought us cups of coffee and a box of tissues for Pat!

11.30am.....

Merv returns, but is still recovering from the anaesthetic and very drowsy....

1.00pm.......

Merv been awake for last half hour. The consultant comes in and tells him it all "went to plan and you can go home if you feel OK in a couple of hours"

Merv was still going to be in hospital for the next 2/3 hours so I said I'm going back to the hotel and for him to ring when he is discharged....

I was shocked when Pat asked if he could stay with Merv....

God he loves Merv so much.

I got back to the hotel.....

Numerous messages left on my desk..

Hugh and Finlay has sold another 3 cars!

I then learned Harry and Alex are working late to cover for Merv and Pat..... and they, along with Liam will cover Merv and Pat's shift on Saturday when we have this huge wedding with the extra security team in place....

I moan like hell when the lads do this, as I hate them working more than their contracted hours, BUT WHERE WOULD I BE...if they didn't?

Stop moaning at them !!!

If they do overtime and don't claim it and they just do it, that means that they want too do it?

And just think....I'm now down 3 lads....Merv, Barnaby and Logan!

And Aj has just told me that Paul, Sam, Joe, Ryan, Darren, Blair, Hugh and Finlay have said they will help however we want on Saturday night.

Don't you just love these lads....

Anyway... Barnaby and Logan are staying in my flat due to their injuries as I didn't want them staying by themselves....

Plus Liam, bless him, wants to keep his eyes on them and check them over and their stitches etc......

I went up to my flat and found the pair of them sitting on the sofas in just a pair of shorts watching a movie on the tv.

They didn't look pretty.....

Barnaby had a big plaster on his forehead, and plasters covering the stitches on his left arm, his face, his right leg, and 3 plasters on his chest in different places, and a full plaster-cast on his right arm, and of course his eye patch!

Logan had his head wrapped in a bandage, and plasters covering his stitches on his shoulder, his face in 3 places, his arm, his chest and leg......

I could tell they both were in a bit of pain.....

Some of the plasters on both of them were now looking 'red' in colour so obviously a bit of blood.

Logan told me that the hospital said that would happen and Liam is aware and said he would change the 'bloody' plasters if and when necessary.

They were so lucky to walk away from it......

They are luck to have walkedcaway from it and to have a boss that really does look after his staff! The boys will work because they want the hotel to be a success and the work needs doing. You can't criticise them for that

As jason has said before the success of all the business is down to the guys running them. Jason has used his good judge of character and put the right people in the right job. And they haven't let him down and they all work extra hours without getting paid the overtime. That is dedication and respect for Jason

Merv and Pat back from the hospital. Tony picked them up.

Poor Merv was walking like a cowboy!

Another patient for Liam!!

Evening meal called....

A lovely hotpot !!!

Very nice...

John and Henry said if anybody wants a couple of drinks round their flat tonight they can.....

Henry then told them that clothes are banned!!

Hugh and Finlay thought that was a laugh and asked if they could come and join in the fun!!

Anyway... after evening meal we managed to get Barnaby and Logan up to my flat and Liam followed and started checking them over and replacing the blood stained plasters.

It was fun (sorry lads but it was!) hearing them scream when Liam removed the small plasters!!

Barnaby asked Dylan to shave his entire body smooth!!!

Dylan refused saying he didn't want to affect the stitches and the surrounding areas....

Liam agreed that being shaved isn't proberly the best idea.

Merv and Pat knocked on the door.

Merv wanted Liam to check if he's ok as he has a bit of blood coming out of the the incision, a 5–10 centimeter cut in his groin, just above the pubic bone.

Barnaby and Logan got up and said they would wait in their bedrooms..

Merv told them "not to be stupid as you have seen me naked many times"

Merv then dropped his shorts and his tight-fitting underwear briefs that was recommended and what the hospital gave him.

We all had a look at Mervs prosthetic testicle!!

We didn't knew which one was the false one!!!

Liam took the plaster off the incision and it was bloody but not enough to be worried about....

Liam told us that he thinks the stitches are the 'dissolvable' kind, meaning they should just fall out by themselves without the need to have a nurse remove them manually.

Pat said he remembers the doctor saying that.....
