Please be warned...

This part is VERY EMOTIONAL.

(I have Alfies full consent to tell it, as it was at the time, and I have paid for counselling sessions for him......)

I asked Alfie if I could see him after breakfast.....

Lewis has used this road, as do other fire tender drivers, as it's a short cut through the town and less congested.

In the event of a fire, using this road can save 8 minutes. Which obviously could be the difference between life or death.

They finished their checks and Lewis was driving the tender out when a uniformed Police Officer, waved him to stop..

The Officer then gave Lewis a ticket for an illegal right turn in an unauthorised vehicle!!

The Officer said as they were not displaying 'blues and twos' (lights and sirens) they were not on a emergency call so the vehicle exception applies to them!

Un-fucking-beliveable.....

Lewis's crew manager, the senior fire fighter in the tender, demonstrated with the Police Officer, explaining they may not be on a emergency but are still working.

Lewis is very upset as the ticket is in his name and he is responsible for the points.

The ticket that Lewis eventually got was a fixed penalty notice under section 36 of the road traffic act 1988, which carries £100 fine plus 3 penalty points on your licence!

The 'Fire Brigade Union' is supporting Lewis and have told the local constabulary that if this absolutely pathetic ticket is not recended then they will request a court hearing and make sure the local press and TV are invited!

Well.....

The story has been going on here for the last 4 years....that makes him 25. Its 2 years behind so that now makes him 27. And I didnt start writing it for nearly 3 years after he left prison...

So that puts my lovely Dylan at 30 !

Lewis was really upset about receiving this 'ticket' and so is the Fire Brigade Union for a simple reason.......

To put it in perspective.....

If you are approaching this road, so it's on your left, no vehicle can access it due to road bollards in place. The only way to access it if you are coming in the opposite direction so it's on your right hand side.

Their are 2 lanes, one for continuing straight into town and the right hand lane to turn right if you are a bus or taxis.

The manhole fire hydrants are checked yearly.....

How can they be checked without the fire tender not being their?

Yes, admittingly, they could be checked after 6.00pm, but the chaos it would cause being a single track one way road, (the road is about 1 and half width) with a fire tender blocking the road, with it at that time being open to all vehicles?

Common sense should have prevailed. They have been checking them for the last 8 years without any problems in the restricted times!

The Chief Fire Officer and the General Secretary of the Fire Brigade Union had written to the Chief Constable explaining the situation and the need for these essential safety checks to be carried out.

It was unbelievable that Lewis got this "ticket' in the first place!

The fire brigade union has said they will fully fund a court case if the Police refuse to withdraw the 'ticket'

That is good news, Jason.

Under the circumstances it is ludicrous for a ticket to have been issued. Surely if it is now a ‘big deal’ in spite of it never previously having been an issue, it would have been more sensible for the officer (a) to listen to Lewis and his superior officer’s explanation and then (b) to have had a conversation along the lines of, “You know, technically that is an infringement but given the nature of your role maybe we should look at alternative ways of getting the checks done or to provide official dispensation to allow it”.

Fingers crossed that the letters that have been sent will resolve the situation.

Later that evening I was relaxing in my flat with Dylan, waiting for Harry to come for his head massage as I knew Luke was working late shift in the gym.

Right on time....a knock on the door and in comes Harry. He knocks and just comes in as he normally does!

He takes his tee shirt off and heads to the kitchen to make me and Dylan a cappuccino.

He was very 'quiet' tonight which is unusual for him?

Cappuccinos made he comes back, kicks his sliders off, takes his beanie hat off and lays across me on the sofa.

I ask if he's ok for him to grunt back "yea"....

Oh dear..........

I start massaging his head with my 'spider' massage gadget.

Literally within 2 minutes the bugger was snoring away!! Fast asleep he was!

About 30 minutes later another knock on the door.....

It was Alfie!!!

He had now moved into the staff quarters with all his personal stuff.....

He was a bit tearful...as this was now a new chapter starting in his life.

He saw Harry asleep, apologised for interrupting and said he would come back later.

Dylan told him to sit and down he went to make him a coffee.

Alfie handed me an envelope containing £200 saying thats his rent money!

I smiled, handed it back and told him that the rent is taken out of his wages at the end of the month!

He asked me to keep it as he has to give a month's notice and pay his rent on his old place and he thinks that and his rent from here might leave him a bit short!

Dylan told him that he will now have no other expenses like food, electricity, council tax etc etc as everything is included in his rent here!

The penny then dropped in Alfies brain and he smiled saying "ok yea I haven't got to buy food or pay the electric meter"

Dylan said he would help him budget his money if he wanted him too?

A huge smile appeared on Alfies face when he told Dylan he would like that!

Alfie has a beautiful smile....

He hugged Dylan......

Harry hears our voices and wakes up with a bit of a start....

He immediately sits upright and rubs his eyes.

He sees Alfie getting a hug with Dylan and says .....

"Oi, wot you doing Alfie? Don't think you can come round here hugging people without bloody giving me a hug mate!"

Alfie laughted, turned around and gave Harry a hug as he stood up.

Harry then asked him if he wanted a bacon sandwich as he wants one!

He then asked me and Dylan if we wanted one as well!

Excuse me Harry but it's my bloody kitchen!!.....

Anyway......

The 4 of us sat down to our bacon sandwiches...... bloody hell Alfie take it easy on the ketchup! You couldn't see the bacon due to the amount of ketchup!!

We all laughed and I saw Alfie start to relax like a heavy weight has been removed from his shoulders.

Harry looked at me.....

It was his look that he does when he's going to say something bad !!

"Alfie, your safe here now mate. So no more talk of ending it all, as that really upset me. And yes I told Jason so I apologise for breaching a bit of trust but I was worried and didn't know wot to say or do"

Alfie looked at each of us in turn before saying.......

"Sometimes I just feel bad and get upset"

Hello peeps...

HARRY, Harry Webber here !

Yes I did breach Alfies trust by speaking to Jason about wot he said to me about him thinking about 'ending it all'

I didn't know wot to say or do to help him?

In all the years I've been here I have only breached 2 people's trust.

The first one was when me and Luke were attacked on our night out. In the aftermath of the court case Luke told me something in confidence that I really couldn't handle and I told Jason. (I love you so much Luke)

And the 2nd was Alfie......

The others know they can trust me and talk to me knowing that I will listen and advise if I can....

The lads are comfortable talking to me and I admit I'm nosey!!

I like to know about everything!

BUT....in Alfies case, I just couldn't ignore wot he told me.

Luke calls me a "soppy sod" but I never explained wot Alfie said to me.?

I have Alfies permission to write this I must add here!!

I'm sorry Luke, but yes, I'm a 'soppy sod' as I care about others, too much.

I know I'm weird, and have my little ways of doing things, but I CANNOT stand back and see others suffer.

I didn't have a good upbringing and was constantly hungry......

Hence why I have this 'thing' about feeding the lads and introducing my tea trolley rounds.

Ok, I get upset easy and do cry, but that's me....and it's nothing to do with my brain trauma I suffered.

I'm just a sensitive lad !!!

Its a horrible feeling...

After the murder of my daughter and dog, I was at my lowest peak and then my wife taking her own life I was literally at breaking point.

I considered taking my own life...

I'm so sorry, I thought I could write about this.....

I apologise for Part 2919... I should have deleted it before posting.....but I wasn't thinking straight......

Anyway

After what Alfie said I just hugged him as did Harry....

Harry, you're just got to love him, moved Alfies head with his fingers so he was looking directly into his eyes.....

"Listen and listen good...if EVER you have bad thoughts again, no matter what your doing, you find either me, Jason or Dylan or phone one of us immediately please. Now wots been said tonight is between us 4. Nobody else needs to know mate. Ok?"

Alfie nodded, just as there was a knock on the door...

Dylan went and opened the door to find Rhys standing their with a backpack...

"Hi Dylan, is Alfie here please? I can't find him and nobody knows where he is?"

Dylan opened the door wider and showed him in......

I saw a huge smile appear on Alfies face and on Rhys face!!

Rhys looked at him and asked.....

"Thought you might need some company tonight with it being your 1st official night in your new home? I've brought my overnight bag in case you want me to stay the night?"

Alfies smile got bigger....

"Yea, I would like that Rhys, and you can stay anytime you want! As long as thats ok with you Jason?"

I nodded.....

Alfie got up and the pair of them headed to the front door.....

As they got to the door and opened it, Alfie turned and looked at us...

"Thank you. And yes I will Harry, I promise....love you lot"

Hello

I was the one that won the draw to visit the hotel!!

I arrived friday afternoon to be met by Tony.... he was holding up a placard with my name on it!

Bloody hell..he's a handsome hunk!

He drove me to the hotel...

What a sweeping driveway....and then the hotel came into view. magnificent !!

It was bigger than what I Imagined.

I went into the marble floored reception..Tony carried my suitcase.

I saw 3 lads behind reception...

The older of them shook my hand and introduced himself as Leo. Then Billy and Aj.

Jesus wept...beautiful lads!

Jason came out of the office....not what I expected! Not as old and looked really lean and fit...

And then......

The lad I really wanted to meet arrived.....Harry, Harry Webber!

He hugged me and welcomed me to the hotel.........he looked so professional in his chef's whites and was taller than I expected!

Then Arlo came out of his office and introduced himself to me, in his very broad Irish accent!

Bloody hell!! He is so handsome and so fit!! No wonder he was a stripper! You could see his muscles and body tone through his shirt..

God I just wish I was 30 years younger!

Now Jason has given me free range to write what I want, but has asked that I don't mention the name of the hotel or its location and not to publish any photos of the hotel or the lads especially.

I will honour his requests so please stop sending me messages asking for the location and photographs!!!

Tony then took me up to my room saying after I have unpacked etc to go back to reception and he will give me a tour of the hotel and introduce me to the others!

Sorry if I have made you all feel a bit jealous!!

If you would like me to write a bit more about my stay, what I got up too or whether I saw any of the lads naked at the dinner table (!) I will.

But for now, a BIG THANK YOU to Jason, Harry and all the lads for the most wonderful weekend!

The hospitality I received was 2nd to none. And I'm not just saying that....its a fact...all of the lads made me feel so welcome!
