An Irish seaside campsite.

Hi. First story so please give me a break. Their (sic) may be spelling mistakes and that where I should write there instead of they’re or their in a sentence or maybe I put in, a comma, where it’s not supposed to be or even an apostrophe that’s’ in the wrong ‘plaice’. Happy to correct errors but I’d be more impressed if you show restraint and just enjoy the stories and let me know if you are enjoying them and what you’re doing while reading.

Take care everyone and enjoy. I’ll try and update as they are written.

It was a lovely sunny day in early spring and the forecast was for a great week of weather on the east coast of Ireland. Sun, little wind and a rain free week. So I packed up the camper and headed for my favourite campsite, situated in a nice country village.

The village was by the sea and in winter with only a small number of shops, a pub that served food and a takeaway, it was a quiet spot, locals only and a few lost tourists.

In the summer, the village burst at the seams with extra pubs and restaurants opening up, tourists and coffee shops and vans selling ice cream and burgers, creating a nice bustle about the place.

As it was Spring, it was quiet enough. Not many tourists around but enough to create an atmosphere and as there were extra bodies in the village, it meant that there was opportunities to meet new people and hear their stories and their experiences while travelling around Ireland. As always, it’s nice to get the low down on a new campsite, a hidden hideaway to enjoy some quiet time or just have a friendly chat over a pint and a steak.

The campsite was very close to the pub a short walk up to the end of the site and out through a gap in the wall and there it was. Easy to get to and safe for the way back, if you had one too many. The beach was a short walk in the opposite direction. There were plenty of amenities available on the site from male and female toilets, campers kitchen, a washing and drying room and also shower blocks, also separated to facilitate male and female campers.

The beach is a beautiful beach with dunes hiding the main bathing areas from the roadway which extended along the seafront. In other words, if you were driving, the views of the water was visible but the main beach area was obscured by the dunes.

The water wasn’t far away from the dunes but far enough to allow one to put down a towel, to sunbathe or to just read a book while the waves made the usual lapping and swishing sounds as they flowed and ebbed in the near distance.

The water wasn’t far away from the dunes but far enough to allow one to put down a towel, to sunbathe or to just read a book while the waves made the usual lapping and swishing sounds as they flowed and ebbed in the near distance.

As well as the main area of the beach, and because of the dunes, there were areas that allowed for more private sunbathing, hidden away to one end of the beach but only a relatively small walk away. At the other end, and because of the ebb and flow of the water, there was a spectacular surfing spot, giving weather cover from the Atlantic Ocean but also offering the best in waves for all ages and capabilities. A surfers paradise by all accounts and of course, a great stage for surfers to showcase their skill, their craft and their fit bodies.

My goal was to spend the week surfing, improving my mediocre skills whilst drawing breath watching my comrades surf; secretly enjoying the tight wet body suits and the brave and un-bashful in the speedos. I pulled in to the campsite and got a nice spot facing the beach with a good view of the surf area yet private enough to enjoy my own company with the tube of sun cream.

At 23, I was in good enough shape yet I enjoyed a few beers or a pizza if it was going. As an IT tech, the week would be peppered by some work and lots of surf, a few beers in the local and maybe a takeaway as a treat.

Very descriptive, I'm enjoying you setting the scene - can almost hear the waves on the shore. Don't worry about any grammatical errors, we all make them, just carry on with this promising story 🔥😈

As I didn’t have any neighbours just yet, and it was later in the afternoon when I arrived, I decided on a light lunch and some time catching the rays. Setup for the camper is easy and once the bed was made up, the lunch made and a beer in hand, the holiday was beginning nicely. Lovely sunshine drew me out to the ‘private’ part of my pitch and I sat, relaxed and made sure an all over body tan was the order of the day.

I was tired, the sun wasn’t too hot so it was comfortable for me and it wasn’t long when the beer took effect and I was catching a few Zzzs. The pitch was completely self contained with electric, water etc all set up so no issues with privacy or being able to strip off and enjoy the naked sunbathing. There was no overlooking and unless someone came in around the back of the camper, I was safe and unseen.

Some time after, perhaps 2 or so hours, there was noise next door so I knew that a neighbour of some sort was parking and getting their camper set up. I could hear the couple talking, him giving instruction on what to do so it sounded like he was experienced at camping and she was maybe learning the ropes. He sent her with the blue cable and plug to get some power to their camper and that’s when her inexperience was evident. She came in behind my van to look for a socket and here I am, in all my glory in full view and very much exposed.

She said hello and tried to avoid looking at me, I yet she was shy and embarrassed at the encounter, brief and all as it was. She said, she was looking for a socket and I told her there was one on her own pitch. She thanked me and turned around, redder than my torso at that stage and ventured back to her own side. The chat when she went back was very sparse and she just said she couldn’t find it, she had disturbed the neighbour and she announced she was going for a walk.
