As we age the weddings and christenings move on to funerals of family members and friends. This year has been a particularly busy one for me, mainly because I'm one of the youngest ones in the family. You would think that in a city the size of Glasgow there would be loads of different Undertakers but the big corporates seem to have taken over. The first I had to arrange was fine up until the 'event' when one of the undertaker's staff seemed strangely familiar. A few days later in dawned on me that I had seen him in the local sauna. Fast forward to about 6 weeks ago and there his is again, all done up in his formal work uniform. In the last week I have been to services for two friends, both in their 60s and in different parts of the city and guess who is at both services. I'm sure there was a flicker of recognition from him at one of them when he realised I wasn't family at that one.
