Having already bookmarked fab on my phone and now having bought a new tablet I put fabguys in the search bar and didn't realise that there are review web sites for it. Curiosity got the better of me and I opened them up, this site scores an average 2.6 out of 5. I was surprised it was this low, but on reading the reviews I started to realise that I had the same experiences as the reviewers. Now I've been on this site probably about 10 years so I'm not a newbie in anyway before the keyboard warriors start to have a go back. However I am questioning whether to renew my site supporter fee when I runs out or even look for other sites.

I was wondering what other people's thoughts are.

I think that most peoples expectations when joining are totally unrealistic. I’m sure plenty they expect that everyone online is just here waiting to meet them. Once they realise that isn’t the case they leave and write a rubbish review. Truth as we all know, it’s the same on every similar site.

Had a quick look. Seems like a lot of the recent "reviews" have been written by the same person with an axe to grind. Appears to have a weird obsession with the size of people's hands for some reason.

Remember people are far quicker to write poor reviews than good ones which can easily skew averages so go by your own experience not somebody else's alleged one.

Genuine question, why post this?

You're not a novice, you know how it works and surely after 10 years you would know if it's worth spending you money on this or not??

Reviews are subjective, use your own experience to decide if you want to spend your money - same principle as shopping online or the High Street, you wouldn't ask mumsnet, Facebook or Twitter if you should.

I posted to find out others felt about it, it's on reading I started to realise that the site had changed and not noticed or maybe been blind to the fact it had. It's about the verifications being false either like 1 poster has said. It just hasn't changed or updated, there's still a banner about push notifications that was put up 3 years ago!

Yes sadly this site has been left far behind compared to other places.

Would have been great in 1995. But the features it lacks that are commonplace literally everywhere else are just daft.

It's basic. It's functional. But surely lacking in a lot of areas. I mean look at the smilies. I remember using those in chat rooms in the 90s. You can't use emoji, pics are super compressed, you can't post anything other than text in the forums, link posting gets you banned etc etc.

It's a bit of a dinosaur.

I forgot to add. I understand why the site owners do some of the things they do. They have to save money somewhere. But if they aren't offering current features to the site then you aren't going to draw in the income needed to make it better.

My thoughts about renewing are the same they always are. As in I always do. I'm payed up on here till Feb, but no doubt I'll add some more time again before it runs out. I like the site and the way I see it if no one buys a site supporter the site will eventually close. I don't bother with reviews as half the time it's only the disgruntled or those with an axe to grind that tend to leave them. The site suits me for what it is and long may it continue
