From experience, up to 100 yards or so. If you're in a hotel or flats they could be on different floors!

Let's just say when I had suspicions my ex was playing away and his phone set off the Grindr alert, friends suggested to set up profiles on a couple of platforms. This site had some within touching distance and you can't get any closer than the same bed lol

I think it works really well, had an experience in an hotel in Hull and he was on the floor above, it didn't take him long to make the short trip down.

And used it to find a couple on a nudist beach in Spain were I live. So I think it works well

One local well known spot seems to have 2 mobile networks serve it, up the top by the loos everyone is a mile away, move down to the bottom parking area and everone is close, 2 min walk. Both places are within 20m of each other.

I sometimes get guys very near come up when I'm at home. I live in a flat there's 8 other flats in the building and I know all the neighbours, so it must be someone walking past or maybe in a flat over the road or something. So I don't think it's very accurate.

It’s not an exact science but accurate enough to make it useful. I’ve had a few “within touching distance” who were like 500 yards away, which is good enough for me. A Mile Away can often mean up to 3 miles, but I’m not really bothered, as it means they are near enough

All depends on the accuracy of your and their gps location. Of it's poor e.g., your location is a radius of a half mile and so is theirs it could calculate you as close but the distance would be further. Basically they could be close or far depending on each of you.
