Blocking

I have recently been blocked by someone I have chatted to every day for months. With no explanation as to why.

As a suggestion, before blocking someone can there be a list of reasons to select or ability to write a reason i.e. no longer wish to connect, This way the person being blocked will have some idea as to why and prevent any unnecessary reporting etc.

Why would you report someone for blocking you

I don't see the benefit of having a reason for blocking

Yeah my suggestion is don’t take it personally.

I do find it rude when they block you for no reason especially if you’re polite but your always going to have twats like that on sites like this.

I only block when they are rude or just not taking the hint that I don’t want to know. I’m always polite thou.

I think the issue is perception. People don't go to the effort of blocking someone for "no reason". It may be that you don't know the reason or you don't agree with the reason, but it's highly likely there is a reason.

Personally, I block people because my memory is shite and I might forget I don't want to meet them because of something they said and then months down the line they send a nice message and I forgot the reason.

Thanks for all your responses. Believe me when I say I don't take it personally after all I have not met this person. It is a suggestion.

Have a good weekend

Sometimes the people you talk to on here can become that, just people you talk to

I need chat to start with, see what similarities we have but it gets to a point where it can become all chat with no real intention to meet

If you’ve been talking for months and haven’t moved to another chat format then maybe the intention was purely for meets and it became more friends

He may have moved on and found someone else. That said after as you’ve said being talking to someone for months then it wouldn’t hurt to say why.

I have been blocked by people on for reason(s) I am not aware of. If I’m not for them or they just don’t want to meet, I’m not offended. It’s their choice.

‘Tis irritating and a bit immature and your request is not unreasonable . However, the blockers are likely to lie on the form ‘it’s me, not you’ that type of thing so it probably won’t give you the real reason.

I tend not to block unless I’m pestered.

Its one less to worry about, I block a lot, always BLANK profiles, and those of no interest to me, its bad enough in here with all the wankers, so blocking eases the pain.

I don't see a problem with blocking people, there's always a reason, wether you know it or not. I'll block purely on the fact I don't like the look of em. I'll still interact on the forums with people I've blocked, but wouldn't really want to have any other contact. It does save time as well, might have chatted for a while then realised its not gonna happen, or not into the same kind of stuff. But there is always a reason.

That’s disgusting, why charge so little? Makes it harder for the rest of us

I was hesitant about blocking but found it a useful tool. I block those who get off by sending endless messages, those who dictate what I must do in my own home, those who do not read my profile, those that do not turn up for meets & do not apologise within 48hrs. I find it comforting that it is there. I do 90% of the time warn those people I will block.

The block button is your friend. I use it for guys who haven't bothered to read my profile or who won't take no for an answer. Most recently I blocked a guy I have known for years, have played with often but then he told me he now had a bf living with him. When I said I wouldn't meet his reply of 'he doesn't need to know' was enough to end the relationship. I'm no-one's dirty secret

I usually use the block button if a guy arranges to meet me at home, then not turn up.

Some people have blocked me. I really don't care. If someone chooses to block me, it saves me from engaging in chat with them.

But there is only one reason, and that is they don’t want to meet or talk to you, no one needs any other explanation other than that.
