Is there such a functionality available? I can think of various situations where a sent message can become obsolete, inappropriate, misconstrued, a mistake, undesirable, embarrassing, etc. Or you've shared too much info, or you've simply changed your mind. Presumably at the moment the Delete command under the Sent Messages tab simply deletes it from the sender's list, but the message remains in the recipient's inbox. Is there an appetite for such a facility? I could see it as part of a premium suite of services for, say, Diamond supporters.

I don't think there is any such function, sadly. It can be deleted from your sent box but once it is in the recipients mailbox its gone

No, there isn't that function I don't think, I am thinking the message system on FS is that the same as an e-mail, the message will still stay in my inbox. Regarding sent messages that are, inappropriate, misconstrued, a mistake, undesirable, embarrassing, etc. or someone sharing too much info, is the responsibility of the sender of the message and that they should think twice prior to sending the message. Your suggestion throws up problems, for instance, I could send you an undesirable message and then once you have read it, I could delete it without any trace. There are many people on this site that would like to bad mouth others via a message and then delete the message once read. If someone sends an embarrassing message then they will have to take the brunt from the recipient. That is my thoughts anyway xx

In the same way as supporters can delete a photo sent, we should able to delete the text of a message. Especially when we’ve given an address and they don’t turn up. Even though they could write it down it would still make me feel better. I’d pay for that tbh.

I'm a full paying member & I totally agree with you on this. If we can delete photos sent why can't we delete previous messages sent ?

Come on Mods explain to us why we can't delete previous all previous messages sent ? 😉👍

I've made this mistake in the past..

I was sending a pic of an item I was selling on face book and mistakenly added a pic of a woman I was chatting with .

She was fucking herself with a big toy .

The woman who received it was ok about it and after a few questions like was it done on purpose who was she etc..

She posted a clothed pic to me..asking if she was as fit..

I said she was very fit...what followed was a weekend of her posting pics and chat to me...pics naked and chat was very naughty .

She never brought the item as I was desperate for her to visit..

Eventually stopped after about 5 days..never found out why..
