Geographical Areas.

Kilmarnock

I wonder is it would be possible on the Foum to have more geographical areas. I think there are currently 5. London. The North. Scotland. Ireland and Wales. Someone in the West Country is going to find it difficult to hook up with someone from London. Someone in the South of Scotland is going to find it difficult to meet someone in the Highlands. The same problem exists for Wales and Ireland. It may not be possible, but I would find it useful.

Absolutely agree. North Wales is a time consuming journey to South Wales and vice versa

North Wales Coast

I totally agree with this, South Wales is a four to four and a half hour journey from the North. London by train is three hours.

It's certainly ridiculous to class Plymouth as London and Brum as North like Newcastle.

Separate NW, NE and Yorkshire, Midlands, East of England, London, South and West country sections seem like a no brainer.

And leaving politics completely aside, would there be enough members from Wales, Ireland or Scotland to justify splitting those along north/ south lines though, as handy as that may be?

Personally I'd also like to see a seperate political or current affairs section. If only to make the political threads easier to avoid.

Barrow

I’m in Barrow in Furness which comes under the north

But Cumbria is massive and it takes in all of the north west which is huge that’s why it’s difficult to meet and travel

I agree re:- Wales, it's too large of a geographical area to have as one for the purposes of Fabguys, as regards travelling time from North Wales, it takes longer to get to Cardiff, the Welsh capital city than it does to get to London!

Would be good if those of us living in Suffolk & Norfolk could be shown as East Anglia rather than the Midlands.

Pretty sure this has been discussed many many times. In the few years I've been here nothing has changed so I don't expect to see it anytime soon

You have an "advanced search" that gives you the option to narrow your search by distance from your location of choice.

"You have an "advanced search" that gives you the option to narrow your search by distance from your location of choice. "

It's more about the forum sections than the search or 'who's near' functions I think.

How many of those who ask for more forums are prepared to volunteer to be an unpaid forum moderators? It is a 24 hour seven day a week but all groups like this need content moderated to keep out spam, undesirables etc.

There was a time you could cross the Severn Bridge for free into Wales but had to pay to flee back.

But with the view to meet up, right?

So...
