Green Arrow on Profile

I think having the green arrow available directly from the profile would be an improvement.

The profile is to promote yourself and give an impression of what you are like to other guys, so I think seeing how they conduct themselves on the forums would be a welcome addition to this, alongside the optional photos and would give more insight than the promotional blurb on the profile itself - which may or may not be accurate, and a lot of guys struggle with anyway.

I agree. Currently the only way to find what a user has recently posted in the forums is by, err, finding one of their posts and using that green arrow.

Obviously poster is a new member else he would know any ideas by members are and always have been totally ignored by the site owners. Been trying to get a Midlands area for years no luck and several other areas have drawn a blank too. If it costs the site time money they aren't interested

"Obviously poster is a new member"… should've checked his profile: "Been here before, I know the score."

BTW, if every suggestion was adopted, the site would be an unmanageable mess 🤔

What a numpty….

I’ve never even noticed that green arrow, let alone be aware it did something!

I mean, who wants to know that (currently) you've been the last contributor to 4 out of the last 35 threads to which you have posted? 🤣

Agreed, this would be a benefit.

I still think this would be a good idea.

People write a profile to sell themselves, but are much more honest in their postings on the forum

What would you do if they didn’t use the forums. How would you form an opinion of them.

😶 Do you genuinely believe that?!

Yes.

Even if for no other reason that it's quite rare that a person's self image matches how others perceive them

Well it seems this function has been available all along - via Google.

If you Google fabguys and username, all the threads they have commented on come up in the Google search and can be read.

Agreed, but the issue is that no suggestion (as far as most people can see) has ever been implemented, no matter how much sense it makes.

I don’t think this is true? If so, does it go beyond the 35 in-house search number: search for mine, let me know what I was looking at prior to the last 35 shown with the green arrow?

If guys can be bothered to read profile information.... I have ages set on mine but still get messages off guys who can't be arsed to read it ....

It’s such a strange mentality… that there is this zealous belief in several users above that the very same community of men who invariably never read the profile in front of them are somehow going to be keen users of a green arrow link from a profile to pore over what we said in the Forum. They aren’t. They’re not. The only users who would be remotely interested in what we say in the Forum are other Forum users who would be doing this for themselves anyway.

Which means you haven’t bothered to look through the settings on your account and set the message filters - if you had then you wouldn’t be getting messages from people outside if the age range you have set.
