I’d assume not very safe and tbh hackers are getting more and more sophisticated..tbh it’s one of the reasons I avoid “face pics” as expect one way of another our pics will end up in the public domain

Without a real name a face pic is pretty meaningless.

Some people put a lot of useful info on their profiles though.

A face pic without a name might be useless, but combine it with being married and their local area might make it more useful

It wasn't that long ago that profiles were visible from googling the name.

Making them un-Google-able was an opt out option for paid members only

"Without a real name a face pic is pretty meaningless. "

But if that same face pic is in the public domain too, then you have a connection to that information. For me a face pic on here is a redline.

If you aren't comfortable with everyone having any information about you, then you shouldn't be putting that information online.

Quite so.

Yep it's a worry..this site's security and systems are unsophisticated. Pretty sure it wouldn't stand up to a serious security breach. Wish they'd move to an app.

Somewhere

It's all about the back end servers, how up to date they are, what operating system they use, how locked down is it, do they have shell access, is there unpatched software open to the internet. An app makes no difference.

Hacking is inevitable these days, M&S will have massively more impressive security than this site along with a security operations centre watching the systems and their network entry points 24/7.

If they want to hack you they will, end of story

I had a load of pictures scraped from Reddit and put on a porn site and that was kinda hot but also annoying. I submitted a number of take down requests and the whole site disappeared eventually, I suspect lots of others were doing similar

I'd probably NOT use an app I hope the current set up/access remains in place
