Political posts..

Is there a way to filter out specific post types on here? Specifically for me, political posts.

Whilst I see the importance of debate and awareness, for me, and I expect others- this site is a bit of an escape from that. The debate is always entirely fruitless, both sides maintain their positions and the arguments often full of ignorance on both sides. Neither willing to listen to the other.

So, is there a way to filter any such posts? Or maybe setup a separate area for them so they aren’t in every area?

Yes, just scroll past them.

Respectfully, that’s not the point in the post/request. Another solution would be hiding posts from blocked people, just tried that but it didn’t work..

it is challenging for the administrator to implement filters for each individual with varying perspectives. It is not difficult to disregard a thread that mentions Trump at the top; why do you pay attention to it? I do not read any articles in newspapers; I choose to read whatever aligns with my interests and preferences. The same principle applies here.

I would imaging for the same reasons that you decided to engage with a post that you disagreed with. Having a separate page for politics I imagine wouldn’t be too difficult. Keep in mind that this is a feedback section.. so best to understand that this is exactly that.

I did not express disagreement with the post. The problem lies in your tendency to raise issues and then become frustrated when others do not share your viewpoint. Once more, it is quite challenging to execute your request, as it necessitates the establishment of numerous filters—filters for sports, filters for politics, filters for adult products, filters for literature, filters for science, and so forth. As many have suggested, it would be best to disregard those matters and continue engaging with the content that you enjoy.

Good point, although this bloke who was aggressive hated my idea of taking politics threads out of The Lounge was infringing on his right to have his opininated posts ranked above everything else! Almost as if he thinks Fabguys is primarily a politics website and only secondly for like-minded people to meet up for sex!

I recently perused the lounge threads and titles, and amusingly, among the latest 50 threads, there exists only a single political thread.

The amount of time you appear to be spending on what you see as a non issue seems representative of your approach to conversation. You’ve shared your view, thanks.

"Can’t see why we can’t have a dedicated politics section like they do on the other site"

They named it a ‘lounge’ to prevent the creation of numerous tabs and topics, allowing for discussions on any subject within that section.

No one requested that we review the political threads prior to engaging in other discussions. I consistently examine the title before participating in any threads; it is quite apparent.

You love the word ‘nonsensical’. You so often levy it against anyone who offers a critique of you on here. It must have been a strategy that worked for you somewhere else in life. Now any time someone gainsays you or asks you to defend your assertions in the Forum - you simply state they are engaging in “nonsense’.

On the subject of the thread: many threads start off about X but then politics can be later introduced. So it would be impossible and fruitless to police this and try to steward users to specific areas. Just block, ignore, skim past etc. Certain users you learn to skip over as you could probably write most of their post yourself based on their emissions to date, so you never need to read it.

I have yet to witness any polite remarks from you in the forum; perhaps you could attempt to say something that won't provoke laughter? Do you have any insights to share regarding my perceived errors in the discussion? Or is it that you truly have nothing to contribute? Last time, you acknowledged your lack of knowledge, which makes me curious as to why you have returned. I must say, I am pleased that you have embraced that term, as it fits you perfectly.

You do make me giggle at your snooty hauteur. You said with typical rudeness the other day that I had written “nonsense” (quelle surprise) and I must be very stupid and I replied saying yes I was really, really dumb. Now that is apparently me “acknowledging my lack of knowledge”. The idea that I care what you think about me or my mental acuity is faintly absurd! As for “insights to share regarding your perceived errors in the discussion”… *loud guffaw* Do you have any idea how precious you come across?! My insight is that everyone finds you an incredible bore. One thing I genuinely don’t know is whether you really are unaware of that, or you do have a sort of understanding and it’s that makes you so belligerent.

Numerous individuals have attempted to provoke me, yet I advise you not to squander your energy, for I can assure you that you are far too insignificant to disturb my peace. Perhaps you should seek your efforts elsewhere. Furthermore, in the future, speak solely for yourself when you claim that 'everyone' shares your sentiments; does this assertion grant you strength? It merely highlights your own limitations and your inability to articulate your thoughts accurately.

It's impossible to filter a political conversation, as it may emulate from any non-political thread.

Best to rise above them, or maybe do as I do: use the political views expressed by tossers as a mean to avoid meeting up with tossers.

Gents please keep in mind that the forum is not a place to indulge in personal arguments with each other. If a topic is getting you hot under the collar you should consider letting it carry on without you until you have cooled down and stopped attacking others.

The alternative may be admin giving you a mandatory cooling off period.
