Unable to see old messages

A question for admin or anybody who can help. I can only see very recent messages in my inbox but I can see all my sent messages. Logging out and logging in doesn’t solve it.

This is from FS faq page, 'If you have loads of mails in your inbox, the system will periodically remove some of the oldest'

Yes that always been the case, but I can’t see anything prior to today! Which doesn’t make sense - especially as my sent box isn’t affected.

if the person you messaged deleted the messages they sent you , you cant see them
