I'm on one other site seems to have issues with fake/ scam profiles. Usual suspects: a) They show lots of interest in you then dissappear for days and b) rarely reply directly to your questions. And c) commonl ask you to chat via Snap, WhatsApp or whatever very quickly. This is to get you off site so you can't report them. If they ask in minutes to chat offline politely say you'd prefer to chat on Fab. If genuine they will. If fake rarely not and quickly move on elsewhere.

Many scams want your phone number so beware of sharing it.

They are often describing themselves as young and attractive, targeting older (= potentially wealthier) guys. If they suddenly say they are actually not as they state but live abroad, they are probably scammers.

This is definitely on the increase, it’s getting much harder to find genuine people these days. I personally don’t ever share my number until after I have met someone and then only if I feel I can trust them. If you get targeted by a fake profile make sure you report it

I don't engage or respond with any profile less that 60mins old. You'll also see the generic copy and pasted text of "I'm a gay man looking to meet gay men..."

Personally I use an old phone with a pay as you go sim, and a free (hotmail, yahoo etc) e-mail account. Basic burner phone set-up then if there’s a problem with someone just get a new sim and e-mail.

Wouldn’t give my “real” contact details to someone unless I got to know them really well.
