Probably because you're using a VPN. Nothing to do with your account. It's network detection level rather than account level.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply but what is a VPN?.

I have been a member a while and it’s only just started doing this.

It's so that Sydney university can track your home address

If you’ve recently changed internet provider it could be that. When I switched to Vodafone I had to put a code in every time for about a month

Suffering the same. It is not consistent. Started about a month ago. Never had it before. Now sometimes it asks for a code and others it does not, just the usual login screen. There seems to be no correlation between location or data connection.

Anyone found a way to get round it or stop it.

So no one, not even FabGuys, seems to know where this came from and why it’s happening.

Messaged them and they said look here - no explanation to be found.

It could be to do with the privacy settings in your browser/expiring cookies 🍪🍪🍪

Cheers, will take a look but I have not changed any browser settings recently.

Will let you know if I get anywhere.

Is this universal or just affecting a few?

"Hi,

VPN is a virtual private network. It is a way of having a secure connection and masking your location. VPN establishes a tunnel between your device and an access point from your VPN provider.

Don’t know where this code prompt comes from, but if you get it before you get the site page then it may come from your network provider.

Not sure. If it only happens when using mobile data and you have had age restrictions unblocked by your network provider then it may be a security check from them. Unless of course you have some form of parental control on your device which is asking for a pass code.

This will not be part of your network operator as it is implemented at a site level. This will be triggered probably by the IP address you are trying to login from.

I think if you “log out” @ 3 times it asks for a code

Not like hacking into NASA to be fair just inconvenient
