Just a quick question id been seeing a post on randomers just creating accounts To pester us genuine users for setting up meets and asking for pics ect.. here is my question would you pay for example say £25 pound for a yearly membership for fab or another amount to keep fab free of freeloaders I would .

I'm not sure how that would change behaviour any more than the current Silver/Gold etc membership, unless you mean it is only open to paying members - no free accounts. In that case, I think it would shrink the membership (and the fun) too much. I'm happy paying for membership and would be happy if it was annual rather than the current model, but I think removing a free level would be harmful. As the previous poster said, even paying members mess around, and plenty of people use the free membership before deciding to pay.

I have been a paying member in the past, but there isn’t enough extra for the payment of even a small fee to really make paying worth it if I’m honest.

I like the site, it’s the best I’ve used. However if they want money there should be more differences between a free account and a paying one.

Being a paid or free member of this site will not change the behaviour of guys on this site who are time wasters.

As adults we make a choice to host or not, if you choose to travel you should expect to meet up as arranged. In reality we all know that it may not happen. But we made the choice to travel knowing in the back of our mind it may be a waste of our time.

I don't think it's the responsibility of the site owners to police or make judgement on this issue.

I think the site owners should make it clear reporting a member paying or free for time wasting is not their responsibility. It is our responsibility to agree to meet or not.

I have my own issues with this site regarding reporting users and from my own experience the default posting if for the site owners to block you from viewing that profile!

At the end of the day we had adults need to take responsibility for ourselves.

There will always be time waster out there paying or for free looking spoil good things for others.

I smiled to myself earlier using a competitor where the promo read "Get laid quicker..."

We know it doesn't work like that as we're not all starring in our version of Sex and the City.

I cannot secure a meet with the 12 fellas I can see online, why do I need a no from 600 more! Haha.

Trouble is that if everyone thought like that there very soon wouldn’t be any such sites. It costs money to create and run these sites.

In comparison to other sites, this site is very good value for money, and personally I think they give a lot more functionality away free than other sites (which is probably a disincentive for some people to become subscribers).

I am sure it would. But these are the reasons many are happy to pay site supporter rates.

The first thing you list wouldn’t bother me personally as I don’t cam but it is clearly an important feature for some users.

The second and third factors there are why the site has had my financial support continually for the last 5 years. And I don’t pay for other sites. If they changed that then I wouldn’t continue to be a site supporter.

Swings and roundabouts.

You can’t please all of the people all of the time.

25quid is to some people a lot of money there are genuine people who can't afford for their own personal reasons not able to pay for being on here and some are lonely and enjoy using the site just to chat. So no don't make others pay just because others are not decent.

I've been a silver member since I joined. £2.50 a month or £30 a year. Hardly going to break the bank and helps keep the site going. Recently signed up to a 'free site' but, in order to send and read messages it was going to cost me £19.99 a month! Plus all the 'nearby' profiles seemed to be the USA, Brazil or China. Soon unsubscribed.

Remember squirt ? if you can remember it nowadays barely used nowadays because they stopped new users accessing anything until they paid even paid members couldn’t interact with non paying members unless they paid

This site is great their are very few timewasters it’s really rare to get spam

Grinder is full of idiots and you get spammed everyday and look at the expensive prices they want

I’ve always said fabguys is the poor brother of fabswingers but its good enough to support by paying the small amount they want

If I'm not mistaken introducing a membership fee is what killed the old Cottaging site.

I get the frustration, I travelled to Notts a while back only to get ghosted by some clam, but Ill put up with the rare inconvenience to keep the site going.

Thanks for the feedback guys was just a thought I had as there was a post on here with someone saying they were sick and tired of having a meet b3ing setup only for that person to block them also asking for pics with no profile pic only just joined then blocking that person I know well never get rid of these people as they are chancers looking for some pics for wank bank we all like sending pics but only if the person is genuine

While I know that there will always be issues around people not turning up for arranged meetings. I think that in comparison to other sites FabGuys gives away much more for free than those other sites - unlimited messages being one example. The amount of functionality available for free has two side effects 1. It discourages some from becoming subscribers (because there isn’t that much extra) and 2. It encourages those who are out to abuse the system and other users (i.e. using unlimited messaging to contact as many people as possible for scam purposes). The latter makes a site unusable, saw that happen over the years with gaydar which is why I came off that site. I think that FabGuys offers good value for money, but have noticed that it does seem to be declining.

I think the paying options are varied enough and are good value for my money. When I first joined I used the site for free to see how it functioned. After it became apparent that I was actually going to find, exchange messages with and meet men nearby (unlike two other sites I was on) it only seemed appropriate to pay the reasonable fees and support FabGuys.
