What’s with people using filters on their faces. It’s not really who they are and not how they look in real life and also misleading for who you are meeting. I think it’s akin to posting pictures of yourself 10 years ago. And tbh if I turned up for a meet and someone did not resemble their profile pic I’d walk away. False advertising. Just my opinion.

In the real world, the first thing that you look at is a persons face, that is generally where attraction starts (unless you are on Naked Attraction), and you work your way from there. We all have different things that we find attracts or turn us off an individual. Personally I would rather see a face picture than an endless stream of dicks or arses.

The issue isn't face pics, its people using filters on their face pics so they look younger or bettwr looking. You can usually tell its a filter as they look almost cartoonish or like an AI pic.

I agree with the OP that filtered pics should be disallowed. Its not accurate and tantamount to catfishing

Throw in that they generally look somewhat ridiculous and are a poor reflection on those using them

I have loads of face pics in my friends section, only for those I have met, make up is the ultimate face filter.

Met a guy a few weeks ago as a guy and he ran a mile and yet my face pics as a girl are the honest truth.

So no need for filters. That's the point though isn't it. You in your make up looks like you when you meet. Filters aren't a genuine reflection of who shows up.

Its not just here either though. I see those filters on profile pics from my contacts on a well known app and think, "I know that person and that doesn't look like them at all."

I was referring to pictures where the poster has done something like pasting a large smiley over their face to obscure it. With regards to AI altered images I believe that an Admin stated in another thread that these are not allowed and should be reported for investigation and if found to breach the rules removal. Hope that clears things up.

I have reported several instances of AI 'art' being used avatars on several occasions. Nothing done.

Some of us like to think of ourselves as something more than just a dildo on legs.

Hiding your face with a smiley is sensible on public pics as it shows the whole body but protects your privacy.

Its the clearly face swapped for female faces that shouldnt be allowed. There is a tv near me that looks nothing like their pics and several have messaged me with ai face pics only to be told they dont actually do make up the day before a meet with a pic of them looking rough as fuck in their wives clothes they have just pulled out of the washing basket. Its such a fucking waste of time.

To the OP’s point - I agree with all that.

But I do find it helpful in a sort of way. It flags up both a strange yet vain insecurity and nearly always some immaturity. So they have helpfully self-winnowed themselves out of my estimations. And, strangely, I don’t want to meet someone with duck-lips and little diamantés sparkling round their cheeks or who looks like a Japanese anime cartoon girl.
