It’s strange, I live in a very built up area and if I manually search there’s loads of guys but that function fails me .. ohh well

You might want to look at your settings. Not here but generally. Go into Settings then location services then location accuracy. If not already done so then set it to on.

Have you checked the distance you have in your settings? That will be the search radius from your post code.
