When I search for a friend the search result says ‘The user you tried to view doesn't seem to be on the site any more’. Does that mean they have left the site altogether or just blocked me?

He has left the site. If he had blocked you the message would have said so. Similarly if he had hidden his profile the message would say so. He might come back but don't hold your breath

This can be one of three things: User's account is suspended by admin, user has blocked you or you have blocked user.

So it will be either a block to you or a site block.

The other message that I shared is what I get when I search from Google/safari.
