When I now visit this site, my username appears already filled in, although my password is 'starred' I can log on. Does this mean if anyone else uses my username they could log into my account?

Your login details are stored in your browser, the password is just obscured for a bit of security. If you don't want them pre- filled you should be able to delete the stored login in the browser settings.

if you are using a computer or laptop more than likely it has remembered and stored both so you do not have too ready for you to log in,,

Only if they were using your device. Your password and username are saved on your browser. You can change this if needed in your browser settings
