Banned account. No explanation.

A paid up member who is a good friend of mine has messaged me to say that he tried to get on his profile today and was told that his account had been permanently banned. No reason was given. And in spite of trying to contact the owners he still had no response. What’s going on there? If you’re gonna ban someone fair enough but at least give them a reason if only to prevent them opening up a new profile and doing the whole thing again.

If your friend already contacted Admin and nothing changed, then it’s probably going to stay the same.

Often it's because you said something in the forums or in PMs that contained certain key words that trigger an algorithm, even if the words are everyday ones in a perfectly innocent context and not used in a sexual manner. It's happened to me.

I believe him. Ive had several time outs and a few times I did realise what may have caused it but other times I had no idea at all. I did ask them to tell me which post they objected too but just no reply. I presume its Bots that trigger the bans automatically and the humans either dont have the time to check or the system is too labourious to do it.

It's pretty shit if you're setting up a meet and then you get locked out because of something in a message.

And they don't even have the courtesy to tell you why.

And there's no arguing with an algorithm 🤖

It isn't, if he has been disabled or given a ban in chat or the forum it will be an Admin / Mod who has actioned it.
