You have to upload a picture with you holding a sign with your username and site name on for it to be approved. Once you do this it will be approved

First time I uploaded the verification pic I uploaded it to my pics as a private pic. But you have to follow the specific get photo verified link and upload it there. Might that be the problem?

I'm guessing this is wrong, since it’s more likely that the OP simply hasn’t followed the correct procedure to become photo verified: it's extremely unlikely that it would take that long from the Fabguys end
