Im trying to change my profile pic but I keep getting a message to set the photo to public..can anyone tell me how to set it to public ?

Never had this issue before

Click your photos/videos. By each pic it will say 'select as profile pic', 'any site member', 'friends only', or 'private'.

Just choose which pic you want and click 'select as profile'.

When you select it as public make sure you scroll to the bottom and click save changes then go back to the pic and click on save as profile pic and it will be sorted.
