When the wife allows and feels like it

When the wife's at work (may require a sharp exit if she leaves early)

When the wife's actually away and you can do an overnighter

When there isn't a wife but you only host people you trust not to nick your wallet and car keys

When you really don't care if they're going to rip you off but need a couple of days to springclean your fleapit of a digs before allowing anyone in

This is the correct and full answer.

If a person can't comprehend that "Can accommodate" doesn't mean that you are able and willing to have them over at any time of the day or week at the drop of a hat, then they aren't the kind of people you want to be inviting into your home.
