No you're not blocked

And a hidden user can do/ see everything...apart from use the who's near function.

I had a previous profile and wanted to take a break (that I got locked out of when I wanted to start up again ) and just before my break I hid myself...a last look around and I was surprised it seemed I could do everything apart from the who's near.

I didn't try messaging someone though

Think it is a bit sinister. People could run dual profiles? So the upset receiver in the conversation. Takes a offence to that profile. Blocks. Not knowing the other profile still has access. Possibly giving verifications to each other etc.

People already run dual profiles, its not against the rules unfortunately. Many TS/TV accounts for example have the man account for meeting as a man.

The function is useful if ypu are taking a break from meering but still want to chat with friends. Or some people use it to block the who's near me function if they are in a sensitive area.

But like all things a sinister person will find sinister uses for any function. Just like dishonest verification use as you pointed out, or malicious reporting etc

I have found guys who want a break from the site use the hidden profile function as it’s easier than deleting the account and then setting another up again when they decide to become active on the site again. Normally to an attack of the guilts.

Think you can carry on established conversations, while being hidden. Going on the basis you trust that correspondent enough.
