been talking to a nice guy on here who i mentioned I liked tribute pics which he then sent me one. Received ok in messages but I went to upload it into my profile as a private image. If the chap is happy I'm willing to change it to more wider access.

The image is a picture of my face on a tablet screen while he's doing the 'tribute' shot so to speak. The picture got rejected on grounds of 'It looks like a screenshot, or a photo-of-a-photo. We can only accept the original.' Now it does contain his profile name like all pics and the picture is of me so if anyone was going to complain it would be me using my original photo. In addition I've had similar in the past and they weren't rejected. I know there could be abuse of other pictures of people having tribute shots but when I'm posting pictures of me in it and the original picture he used is in my own profile, I think it could be argued. Should I let it go or raise it with management. I've also said the guy could post it on his profile if he wants (if allowed) and on mine people can see his profile name if they may be interested in looking him up. Shame there's no one shot appeal option on the photo manager page.

Maybe try and upload it again. You’ve already got at least one similar in your profile pictures (I had a little look lol) so maybe there are other approvers who would let it through. Unless it’s done via a computer program or some other magical way xx

You have to be physically in a picture. You are not in the picture if it is another man taking the photo of himself and sending it to you.

Also taking a picture of a picture will be rejected as a screenshot. Tribute pictures are not allowed for both these scenarios.
