I'm just interested to know if I put anything on the forum can it be searched and found on Google or any other search engine?

You could use this option to stop your profile being listed, you can find the option here.

Search engines: You can choose not to have your profile listed on search engines like google. If you opt out, your profile may take a couple of weeks to disappear from search: We have no control over this.

Yes, I thought that was the case. I was just double-checking. Thanks for the reply.

The forums though are publicly readable without needing an account.

Thread titles are searchable from whatever search engine you choose to use but the text within a thread isn't, although you can still read the entire thread just by searching for the title and clicking on it - no account required. Log out and give it a try.

People's usernames are hidden by changing the first letter to an asterisk, but of course, it's generally easy to work out what the hidden letter is most of the time.

That's how I first found the forum.

Yes the forum threads are searchable from Google, and a Google search is better than the fabguys forum search.

Fabguys search will only find your search term of it us a thread title, whereas a Google search will find it in the comments.

So your posts and comments are actually more searchable on Google than they are on here
