Could it be possible to make a dark mode feature to turn on or off at the bottom of the homepage?

"Why "

Well most other things have that feature, and would make the white background on every page a bit nicer and less bright to look at when the room is dark

In answer to the person who asked “Why?”, even though it does seem fairly obvious:

Dark mode isn’t just better for the eyes when using a phone in a dark environment, but it’s an accessibility feature too, making the site easier for some people with visual disabilities to use.

It also happens not to light up a room or car interior when they might be dark and you’re wanting to keep them that way!

As for the browser option:

I agree there are some browsers that can do this, and some handle it well. However, not all browsers will do it, and this can depend on many factors, such as the manufacturer of the phone, the OS and version of the phone, the browser, the version of the browser, etc., etc.

Even then when the browser can provide a dark mode, or an extension can force one, it’s not perfect! I’ve tried it on multiple browsers on both Android and iOS, and the results varied. Mostly though, I found multiple areas of the site that are left bright and some of the logos and icons have backgrounds baked in which can’t be changed.

All in all, a dark mode that is created as a site style to ensure full coverage, which would take updating some of the branding & icons with transparent backgrounds, and just a little tiny bit of coding, would be a massive benefit to many users I suspect. There’s a reason so many apps and sites are doing it - users like it.

Dark Mode is a display setting that changes an app, website, or operating system's interface from a light background with dark text to a dark background with light text.

Here's what it looks like:

Light Mode: ⚪ White or light gray background with black text.

Dark Mode: ⚫ Black or dark gray background with white or light-colored text.

Why people use Dark Mode

Reduces eye strain in low-light environments for many people.

Can save battery life on devices with OLED or AMOLED screens, where black pixels use little or no power.

Improves comfort when using a device at night.

Provides a different aesthetic that many users prefer.

Are there any downsides?

In bright sunlight, dark mode can sometimes be harder to read than light mode.

For reading long passages of text, some people find light mode easier because dark text on a light background often offers better readability.

Many devices and apps—including Windows, macOS, Android, iPhone, web browsers, and apps like ChatGPT—let you switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode manually or automatically based on the time of
