"Or admin could set it so that at a certain timeframe if inactivity, a profile goes into hidden mode. The profile is still there, but it is no longer "active." Then people's search results are accurate and verifications can stay in place for those who want to display them?" I agree but if an account has never been verified ,never been photo verified and only ever been logged into for a few days just after it was created those maybe should be deleted after 3 months of inactivity.

"Search results are simply in order of most recently active and you can clearly see a profile when someone has last been on so not sure how you can be “messaging into a black hole”?" Exactly. Unused profiles are not our problem.

"Hey everyone, Following up on the frustration with ghost profiles, I honestly think the site admins need to take a harsher stance: any profile that hasn't been logged into for more than a year should be completely deleted or removed. Right now, looking for guys or using the compatibility search is a massive chore because the system is completely clogged with dead weight. If someone hasn't touched their account in 12+ months, they aren't coming back. Keeping these accounts active just so the site can artificially inflate its "total user" numbers completely ruins the experience for the guys who are actually logging in today. A hard purge or automatic deletion after a year of inactivity would instantly fix so many issues: Actually useful search results: You’d only see guys who are real, current prospects. Accurate compatibility matches: The matching algorithm wouldn't waste time pairing you with people who have long since abandoned the site. Less wasted time: No more messaging into a black hole or wondering why someone isn't responding. Other platforms clean out inactive accounts to keep their databases fresh and functional—why shouldn't this one? If you log in once a year, great, keep your profile. But if you're completely gone for over a year? Clear it out. Do you think the site would ever implement a deletion policy for inactive accounts, or are they too scared to watch their total user numbers drop?" Oh I 100% agree with this. Why create a profile you're not going to use then forgetting your login details therefore creating new profiles for the same person... man, give up already. Delete these profiles!

After profiles have not been active for a period of time (I don't know how long) they cannot be found by searching. So effectively they have been placed into a 'hidden' mode. (These profiles can be found by direct navigation, should you be looking for user XYZ that you've not seen for a while)
