Where have the push notifications gone?

I've logged in on different browsers to check whether each one made a difference but whichever one I use, they're not there.

I noticed this a few months ago when scrolling down on the homepage.

Usually at the bottom the option to switch on notifications was always there. Now it's gone, completely and I'm getting zero notifications.

Anyone know why this is?

I always understood that notifications were only possible on the chrome browser.

Mine work on chrome but not if I've only recently logged out of the site.
