At what point do accounts get deleted due to being inactive, I have 4 in my hotlist where the guy hasn't been online for well over a year, 2 of them over 2 years, it doesn't particularly bother me, just interested to know.

I think if they have been inactive after 12 months they should auto delete. No money is lost as the member period will have expired.

A company can only keep a persons data for as long as they justifiably require it, under GDPR. The law is open to all sorts of conjecture!

I would say that the onus is on the service user to delete the account under GDPR.

Not if the user passes away. As someone else said, the website admin should really be deleting inactive accounts that have remained as such, for say 12 months.

Although considering the woeful press the sister site has received recently, when heads were placed firmly in the sand, I doubt much will happen!

And my money pays for it all.

I am pissed off and would have a piss if I was alive.

It’s the same for FB I guess. I know several of my FB contacts are dead but their accounts are still live with birthday reminders each year.

Perhaps we should leave our log in and passwords for our executors to close our accounts?
