Can't this site just ban politics from the forum, its so bloody boring. I thought this site was about having sex with other guys.

The irony is if either a far right or left party got into power homosexually would be banned. Sorry what is this site again?

Come on fabs just ban this futile topic.

Or do what Fabswingers did and have a forum board for politics, that said contrary to what you say, the lounge is for general chat, doesn't have to be about sex, it can be anything as long as it stays within the rules.

It would be politic to have reservations about going down this narrow-minded route. Other people make use of and enjoy using the site in a variety of ways.

The irony exists only in your imagination.

The thing is - you don't HAVE to open a thread you don;t want to engage with?

"The thing is - you don't HAVE to open a thread you don;t want to engage with?"

But some people can't help themselves, need to stick their oar in. I have not engaged in any political forum, that is not why I am here so not bothered one way or the other.

I get that some guys use the fab chatrooms as a way of passing the time and/or baiting other users, and that the lounge is not restricted as to topic, but it's a gay hook-up site so I can't really see why all this other stuff is relevant to the site's core purpose - eg politics, celebrities, and various other subjects that come up. I'm sure there are better places to discuss them.

The lounge would be boring as fuck if the only topic was sex.

People like to talk about other stuff rather than sex 24/7

A seperate politics and current affairs forum wouldn't go amiss.

It can't be that hard to do.

Then those of us who are here for fun and sex and not news can avoid contentious stuff we're sick of.

But the since we have to believe that Plymouth is in the London area, then maybe it is beyond the ken of admin to implement the simplest of changes to make this site better to navigate.

I agree it could do with a separate section.

The lounge as a catch all made sense pre covid when it was hardly used, but since then it has stuck as a popular part of the site. A few more defined areas would be welcome.

Just because the 'Site' is a gay hook up site doesn't mean that's all that should be discussed in the forums, people do have other interests and other things to talk about and quite honestly if you are so against people chatting about stuff that doesn't involve sex perhaps give the forums a miss.

Is that all topics ?

How about the guys that come on here with there mental health issues, should we ban those or listern to there problems ?

We may be the first people that they feel they can open up to with there problems which may then lead to them seeking more help.

How about ban yourself from looking at the political threads , they have titles for sure ?

The thread titles are usually a good guide to the thread subject. I just don't read any threads where I think I might not be interested in the thread subject.

Politics is a big talking point at the moment, since there's so much going on in the world right now.

Best advice I can give is, don't engage if it bothers you. I know I don't. I know which threads I want to read on here, and people arguing isn't one of them

Point of order Mr Speaker!

If a separate section was set up for politics it would set a dangerous precedent.

The sports haters would want a sports section.

Those against word/music/A-Z threads would want a games section.

Those who don't want to talk about the news would want a current affairs section.

Where would it end?

The lounge is not a busy forum, during day and evening times there is more often than not threads from 3 to 4 hours ago still on page one.

Adding new sections would make it even quieter and a ghost town.

It's not a good idea.

Slippery slope if you start saying what should and should not be banned

Do what I do and just scroll past anything with politics on it or religion

This isn't rocket science, all this has already been sorted out on the sister site, for a very very long time. They just don't put the same logic on here.

Lots of forums either ban politics and religion or have a dedicated forum board because these subjects cause so much bad vibes, members who want to get involved can do so in the dedicated board.

It would be nice to have a section for all those inane Wife Out, Cock Out threads

It ain't bust: there are only three political threads on the top Forum page right now.

You might as well require football threads to be banned...hey....there's a thought!...
