"No, they’re ALL FAKE. I’m not just throwing some random shot here, i used to be into bodybuilding and I know what I’m talking about. https://imgur.com/a/EP6lahw You’d honestly just be wasting your money. A lot of what you see is an illusion. Diet, diet, diet and lots of cardio will make you look more defined. " It may not be about being defined. Not sure what you mean about "all fake" I've spent over 40 years in power lifting and I dispute that all supplements are fake.

"By far the best herbal one is called Tribulus Terrestris. It is a root, dried and made into capsules, which can increase testosterone by as much as 40%. It is widely used in Russia as a supplement by students preparing for exams (stimulates the brain as well as balls) and also by sports people. Studies have proved it works. Google it and see. I take a gram a day (some take 2 grams). It tends to make you very horny within a few days of it building in your system. I take it because I want to build up immunity and strength but the horny factor is undeniable. " When I looked in Medline it summaries it as this Despite marketing claims, Tribulus terrestris does not appear to increase testosterone in humans. This conclusion is based on studies in men and women of various health statuses and ages.

I think they are talking about testosterone hormone medication which can be dangerous if you have prostate problems. It can actually speed up growth of prostate cancer if you already have it but under medical supervision can actually do the reverse and shrink the cancer.

"Hi guys, thanks for some great responses. I used the word testosterone but I think I should have used libido. I'm looking to increase sex drive. Anything that could supplement good diet and exercise." If you have a good diet there should be no need even to take a multivitamin. The only one that is recommended is VitaminD Men benefit from foods containing L'arginine Almonds Watermelon Raspberries Pine nuts Also foods containing zinc are particularly important for men Unless your GP has identified a deficiency in a certain vitamin there should be no need to supplement Also your mental health plays a vital part in how you feel about yourself If you love yourself then you're in a good place Also be aware that many health conditions and medications can cause low lidido But if all well nutrition exercise and positive outlook on life should be the perfect formula I definitely would not take a supplement. If you are concerned at all just have a chat with GP

"Testosterone “supplements” are fake, it’s not even disputable. Placebo effects may give you some confidence but that’s all. Same goes for this: https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-39/tribulus I used to help run many body building forums over the years, this sort of question came up all the time. " My mistake, I thought you was using a blanket to cover all "supplements". Totally agree about Test supplements. If you are healthy and eating a good diet you should produce enough for your everyday needs. Apologies.

"Hi guys, thanks for some great responses. I used the word testosterone but I think I should have used libido.Haha well, testosterone injections certainly increase libido! ![]() Well, not necessarily. They might but it's not a given, and any increase would only be more likely in someone with low testosterone levels which, given the OP's age isn't that likely. There's also associated risks to think about - possible prostate enlargement, acne, hair loss, man-boobs... there's even a possible link to an increased risk of heart attacks. Bottom line, you really don't want to be messing with such a powerful hormone unless it's under medical supervision.

"Hey. Can anyone recommend any supplements that build testosterone levels, that actually work." Stay away from anyone selling them over the net as they usually are fake and don’t work! As someone that is on TRT through the Dr it’s not something I would recommend if you don’t really need it. I started off on the gel which was messy/smelly and didn’t work my levels were still low ![]() ![]()

"Yes on prescription there are great treatments but you need to see your Dr and have your levels checked All other supplements are placebo / illegal Why anyone would come on here for medical advice is crazy. Better off on Facebook, plenty of experts on there " No harm in asking

"Supplements claiming to increase testosterone are really just marketing nonsense. Heavy compound lifts especially squats are supposed to increase levels but there is some debate. TRT gels are available online but I'd see your doctor as a first step." Gels are messy/smelly and often don’t work

"I’ve been on TRT for last 8years; usually 10week cycle of Nebido by my intramuscular injection. Haven’t been able to get the clinic re lockdown so currently maintaining on Testogel (measured dose pump dispenser) Clear gel, easy to apply and totally odourless. I haven’t had any of the side effects/problems mentioned. The cardiac risk(if any) appears to be in those with preexisting heart disease. The most recent study I know of(2016) indicates that TRT is protective against heart disease in healthy men. Other benefits: boosts libido, boosts energy, improves results of exercise and prevents age related sarcopenia(muscle loss) Definitely improves mood (grumpy old man syndrome). Strong evidence of protection against dementia. The opinion on prostate cancer swings both ways ( like HRT and breast cancer) The original idea that it might be a cause came from the observation that lowering testosterone slows the progress of established disease. The current consensus seems to be that testosterone protects against prostate cancer for healthy men. ( the disease is usually one of age when levels have fallen) Al this info comes from peer reviewed papers in Journals of Urology and Endocrinology all from this century. Also from opinions of the three consultant Endocrinologists I’ve seen over last 5 years. More research needed in some areas; in others, no shadow of doubt. I often say do your own research but in this case don’t. Go to a specialist clinic , get assessed and see what’s advised. My own opinion is that my life has been enhanced in multiple areas and I wouldn’t want to be withoit. Regards to all. ps AT 27 YOU DONT NEED IT! I’m way older " So what symptoms or causes prompts you to realise you need testestorine injection/supplement

"Well a number of things coming on over about a year to 18 months 1 I was totally knackered most of the time. A normal working day would flatten me; so early (really early!) bed but then very poor sleep and just as knackered in the morning. Dragging myself around with no energy whatsoever. 2 loss of libido big time having always been highly sexed. Hard to get hard at all; no interest. 3 no interest in much at all; very low mood ( grumpy old man syndrome!) 4 weight gain. Always been slim; In this period I put on best part of 1.5/2 stone. (And didn’t really care! Not like me) 5 night sweats, big time as in waking up so soaked in sweat it’s like you’ve been in the shower. In the middle of the night, I was waking up thinking I’d pissed the bed. 6 fuzzy headed/ poor clarity of thought Probably more but that’s the first thoughts. Basically I felt fat, knackered, worthless, disinterested and clapped out; Finally the penny dropped and I went and got my testosterone level checked and they were low for age (52 at that time) (7.6nmol/l) ( they aim at 19 nmol/l with TRT) I started TRT and started to feel the kick in on day 3. Within a week my energy was coming back and I started to have morning erections and sexual desire again. Mood lifted BIG TIME! Mental clarity like waking from a deep sleep or bad flu Weight normalised with 10 weeks Had you told me before I’d have said “crap”. Since TRT, I’d say life changing.. Just coming up to 60 feeling alive , alert, energetic and enthusiastic. Slim, feel horny and got the motivation and desire to learn and take on new stuff. This is not an ad. It’s my direct personal experience so for me, it’s been great and I’ve recommended it to friends and colleagues; no bad feedback as yet Regards to all ps if your looking for online info you need real science/ medical journals. Not sites trying to flog something ." I have to agree with the above, I was initially on TRT - Testogel for 3 years and at that time there was a shortage and you could only get the pump, luckily I had managed to collect through over prescription a years supply of testogel. I was then asked to consider 12 weekly injections of which I tried and through time and blood tests it worked out I was best on 8 weekly injections of which I am still on today. I still have a years supply of testogel, which also worked well for me at 2 sachets per day It seems right now there are news reports on testogel regarding a doctor supplying it to competition cyclists, I am sure they done well on it, I know it increases my stamina as well as erections and day to day health

I note you are on 10weekly injections, may I ask what your trough blood test is, your low point before next injection? I changed over from testogel and was initially on 12 week injections, moved down to 10 weeks, and now settled fine on 8 weekly injection

"Hey. Can anyone recommend any supplements that build testosterone levels, that actually work." Nothing works, other than actual testosterone doses. Plenty of studies to show supplementing in latest life has copious benefits. I'll be looking at 300mg per week on about six months time

That is about 4 times a starting TRT dose

"They only work if you actually have low testosterone Have you had a blood test ? I used to have sustanon 250 injections every fortnite at my gp surgery but now i get testogel on prescription More convenient all i do is use one sachet every morning Spread it on your shoulders and arms Job done ! The herbal stuff and diet play a very small part dont waste your time Go to your GP" if you only need one sachet per morning you are not deficient but your testicles will work less and eventually shut down meaning you will soon need the normal 2 sachets of testogel or 5 pumps from the dispenser.
