Thanks for the info a few of the reviews I've read say the owner is a bit of a dick tbh I'm in two minds about booking up at the moment possibly in a few months time might be better

Stayed there last summer for the weekend. Nice hotel and location. Mix of guys there and we all got on well. The owner is marmite and a real character!! He likes to hold court during breakfast and dinner but I found him to be welcoming. I wouldn't worry about anything and I'd recommend a weekend there.

About 10 or so years ago I was seeing a guy who lived in & worked there.

My impression was that the vast majority of guys loved staying & a lot of guys were regulars.

The atmosphere was always friendly & relaxed, no judgement.

The owner is a big personality and that isn't to everyones taste, I found him to be a lovely guy who is passionate about his business.

Give it a go would be my advice. If I didn't live locally I would take a weekend or 2 there for a break. For many men it is a little 'gay oasis' to get away from life for a few days.

They also did some interesting themed weekends and workshops from memory.

As has been mentioned, there is an old 3 in a bed episode with hamilton hall in it, that may help.

I've been a couple of times, though not recently. John B the owner is, as mentioned, a bit self obsessed but he's harmless really. Don't be put off by the website. As for the other guests, that's the luck of the draw - I met a couple of guys I kept in touch with. Give it a try, I'd be up to go again if there was a friendly group wanting to hang out and do the nude beach (in the lovely sunny post lockdown summer we'll be having!)

Dormitory type rooms twins and double, I had a shared room, but he didn’t sleep in the room, he had a better offer elsewhere.

I liked the community feel of the place, everyone chatting in the lounge, fun if you want it.

The owner is fine, very charitable to the gay community

Massive dick and balls, not sure if he gives every guest room service.

A hotel with mini sauna facilities would sound a good business plan if there are any. There was a 'resort' Hotel in torquay but I think it closed and Amsterdam in Brighton has a spa.

Unfortunately Hamilton Road in Boscombe is in a bit of a drug infested part of town, the nearby shopping arcade area is full of d*unks and mutants , some of the roads to the north are kerb crawling, and dealing spots, albeit a short stroll through Boscombe Gardens takes you to the beaches which are a plus point.

I would give a wide berth to any establishment where the owner hits back so often and so viciously at customers. Of course some people are unreasonable but when there is such a clear pattern even for mild criticism it’s a massive red flag.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near someone like that for a hookup let along for a paying visit where boundaries may also be abundantly blurred.

Did you go to Hamilton Hall in June as you said you were planning to? I've been there several times but more than ten years ago and I still get the newsletter which is amusing in a weird kinda way. I'd be interested to hear how it is now. I can't imagine John has changed or is capable of changing.
