Bloody love Scarborough. Can’t go without a trip to Alonzi’s. Whitby is very picturesque but don’t go to Magpie for your fish and chips unless you want to feel like you’ve had your pants pulled down and dry fucked hard. Sit down for 2 cost us £40 for fish, chips and peas plus a drink

Scarborough is much bigger. If you want one of the better examples of a traditional seaside resort, Scarborough would be a good place. Whitby is a much smaller town, quite unique really. Both are great, as is that whole coast. And it's painful for me as a Lancastrian to praise Yorkshire so it must be true!

Well he has to stay somewhere! No, but you're right, you can easily take in both places on the same holiday.

Whitby is lovely but I really love Staithes, although it is small. And the North Yorkshire Moors nearby. Seriously thinking that I'll retire up there.

Whitby all day. If you're there for a few days and have a car, I would suggest a trip to "falling foss" for a couple of hours on a hot day.
