The attempts to equate Starmer's actions with Johnson's really do have an air of desperation.

This is the problem with politicians at the moment. They're all more interested in scoring points, in getting a scalp, in plotting someone's downfall.

It would be nice to see such effort go into running the country

The 'Just Eat' ads drive me mad and I instantly mute the TV when they come on. Wouldn't deal with such a ghastly company. Suppose it would be right up Starmer's street--along with the tumble--since he has little taste.

Quite frankly its about time 'partygate' 'beergate' and now 'justeargate' were hit on the head. All a pathetic farce and nothing to do with running the country or offering constructive opposition.

The recent 'argument' between Starmer and Kemi as to whether or not sandwiches are proper food, was pathetic. These two 'grown-ups' should know better. Surprised Farage didn't add his twopennorth about caviar canapes.

When it's Starmer it's an 'office oversight', when it's a Tory it's a heinous crime and resignation is floated. Starmer was seen reported for socialising during the lockdown but 'no action' was taken

What a weird post. You say let's see where we are in 4 years. and then say that it is going to be better than Bojo etc. Do you have a crystal ball then?

I can recall new governments going back to the 1950's, none of them was so bad in the first five months as this current mob, so the omens are not good, the country could be on its knees in four years, already they have depressed the economic figures published today.

His personality hid his short-comings. Johnson was spectacularly unsuited for the job. He brought a modern day Rasputin into the heart of government,u-turn after u-turn, the influence of Princess Nut Nuts, the porkies...

He was a laughing stock at the end.

Selective amnesia.

Starmer is not a charismatic man but since when has that been a prerequisite to be PM?

It's about day to day efficiency, being able to take tough decisions and take the flak, being able to interact well and form relationships with other leaders.

As opposed to blethering absolute piffle at Peppa Pig World, relentlessly obsfucating at the despatch box and not being taken seriously by players on the world stage.

Lefties so predictably, as ever, bashing the Tories in a feeble attempt to divert the real issue of the diabolical mess the government with its cretin of a PM, that they are responsible for electing into office, has made!!

Blame the Tories as much as you like but the truth is plain for all to see!!

Lefties..lol. Mythmaking on social media is the future.

Labour inherited a tepid economy,an NHS in serious need of reform, strikes,an asylum system unable to process claims effectively thus leading to thousands in temporary accommodation with all it's cost.

Then there was the skull duggery over the black holes that were left meaning difficult decisions were unavoidable.

National renewal will take years. The project clearly has been impacted on by the mess that was left.

Tories should remember what their leading lights, defeated MP's, journalists said on Election Night and the days that followed. People being let down was the common theme.

Is this for real? Or a bot? A person expects to see complete reversal of ruin of an entire country in 6 months.

Have you tried buying a house recently? Let alone purchasing a country on its knees.

Bro, just come out and say you believe in voting for wife beaters and getting rid of the NHS you must’ve written the book on witty left retorts - your precious PM is a knob - everyone knows it - you can’t admit it , don’t worry we all know it’s time they need - just a bit more time "

Thanks 👍

Everyone knows it = is that true? Do ALL centrist or left wing people think it? It's a very populist move to assume you speak for everyone. The people will it ... except they don't!! Under our system the people have spoken they wanted labour, you can argue about PR or % but, Hi!! That's not our system so deal with reality.

I'll happily agree their terrible at delivering the narrative and vision or comms as the press like to say. But the actual policies I don't disagree with, yet. Unfortunately "normal" people don't follow policies but narratives.

As for time about 14 years should do it.

There's not that many on here with Corbyn's politics?

By definition Socialism and Socialists are the domane of the political Left Wing, so it beggars belief that anyone could pretend that they are "middle of the road"!!!

...

But the middle of the road types aren't espousing say the politics of the Socialist Worker. The notion of pretence is certainly an esoteric notion. Others can speak for themselves but you can count on one hand truly left-wing devotees on the forum.

Myth via polemic.🤔"

Facts don't sell bro, if it makes the hard of thinking uncomfortable they don't like it, they prefer to comfy themselves in untrue narratives that fit their worldview

Starmer is so far out of his depth ,I'm wondering what milliband has on him? Gives him 18 billion to play with for his destruction of the oil and gas industry and just lets him go his merry way.Has anyone got their head around his Great British Energy yet where's the money going and what has it achieved?

Want to talk out of they're depth?

It's easy go on your app and you can see it's cheaper to burn electricity when the green light shows.

So, the government are making a company that will provide money to build infrastructure to make the grid cleaner.

You talk like I’m a Boris fan which I can assure you I’m not. If you really think supporting a man and I say that very lightly (because he’s not a man in the slightest) who supports a evil cowardly organisation like the IRA is a good thing then it shows how pathetic and small minded you really are.

See how it works?? Probably not I presume this will be phased in over the next 5 years? Or are you suggesting that jan 1st 2030 he will flick a magical switch?

No, as I've said it's the aim, it depends how many dick heads stand in their way, you may or may not be in that sentence seeing how clear I did make it. Theirs people on the space station seeing it clearer. Ahh right it's the AIM

I understand it now the guy gets 18 billion let's hope he knows where it's being invested and where it's all going because it doesn't seem they like to tell us.Maybe you can keep us updated 18 billion is quite a lot of money "

Obviously it's an aim, you can't just become green it's a transition the same as going from horse and carriage to petrol cars. Only this time we know we have to otherwise life itself will eventually collapse eventually

Because unlike Bojo and his cronies he was at a Labour party office and offered a can of beer I seem to remember which he held but didn't drink and didn't indulge in sex , snogging, dancing and quaffing large amounts of booze which Number 10 did while ordinary UK citizens weren't allowed to attend the funerals of their loved ones . "How anyone can defend this pathetic excuse for a government is beyond me - can’t solve a single problem & when challenged, they just repeat the same old blame game

Starmer doesn’t even look confident in the words he has been coerced into spouting

Pretty easy

It's been 6 months, give them a chance let's see what these reviews say and what they action.

The last lot had 14 years to ruin the country.

You haven't given this lot 14 months

But then theirs money in duping people to your point of view another typical leftie answer- “give them time” it’s only been 8 weeks - 2 months etc etc - then harping back on the previous tenants - they have lost any credible reputation ( if they had any in the 1st place ) NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

This may be the most idiotic response I have seen, for gods sake put some thought in to it man . Umm let's see 14 years of Tory clowns in government result in a Labour landslide... Duh !! If this is the state of your party's strategy no wonder you now have kemi lol ..

Stop dodging the question did the Labour government indulge in sex, snogging and drinking whilst having several parties in number 10 while ordinary people who were observing the very rules set out by your Tory government couldn't even mourn at the funerals of their loved ones! Yes or No ? .

You also forgot to outright label Starner an alcoholic as you have done previously despite zero evidence of that being the case.

I don't disagree entirely, it's a massive number, especially with nimby culture, however, from what I've read they are ready to ride rough shod over local councils.

At the end of the day we are an aging population, we need younger people to move here and work. People work better when happy so houses, doctors schools and places of worship all need to built. And we need said immigrants to build.

47 is pretty close to 50

Boris won it false promises in the election and on Brexit. He threw out the decent conservatives to get his and Frosty frost deal over the line, and their still paying for it.

Starmer and co aren't perfect, their failing to win the argument and narrative. But the policies are right and he's a decent man with a good soul it's a shame he doesn't have an Alistair Campbell

"People with 'middle of the road' opinions regularly discuss Starmer. Often these people are perceived as being left-wing when they have never espoused ideas that could be seen as radical and leftist.

Myth via polemic.🤔

Facts don't sell bro, if it makes the hard of thinking uncomfortable they don't like it, they prefer to comfy themselves in untrue narratives that fit their worldview

As regards gifts

A Police officer is not allowed to receive gifts since it is seen as gaining favour and could be corrrupt, it’s in the regulations

So why oh why can politicians receive gifts, it’s to gain favour and influence no other reason, so stop it now or better still raffle the gifts and give the money raised to food banks or other good causes
